• How to limit a google calendar xml / rss feed by date range (not working!!)

  For the life of me I cannot get my google calendar xml feed to only display events within a certain date range. I know that start-min and start-max are supposed to limit the output (according to these posts: (links to posts deleted because I am a newbie and can only post one hyperlink argh) BUT I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK. It keeps showing lot of things outside the range. I created a sample calendar and made it public. It is some events the first week of april. Can anyone show me how to construct a request that only returns those three events from the first week in april? I'll GLADLY and GRATEFULLY paypal $10 to anyone who helps me break through on this. • Multipart question: Mapping between xml and Json using xpath

  This is a JSON mapping question from a json newbie. Currently i'm reading xml using xpath in C#, and the xpath are returning either the element or attribute node values, as is the schema's want. I want to write out some of the returned values into a json formatted file. I know i can faneigle the xpath expression to return the element or attribute names, so I can built the appropriate name/value json structure before serialization, but I was I'm wondering if their was some way of doing a mapping between the xml and json. The xml schema is fairly big, so potentially the mapping will be big, meaning a ton of cumbersom coding to make it work. Is their any way to automap somehow? I was planning to use json.net, which seems flexible enough, although their may be a better approach. Any help would be appreciated. Bob.

When I publish the web service application to inetpub\wwwroot (Windows 7, IIS7) it does not delete the old files in the Download directory. The app works perfect when I publish to IIS from a physical directory not in wwwroot. Obviously, it seems IIS places some sort of lock on files in the web root. I have tested impersonating an admin user to run the app and it still does not work. Any tips on how to circumvent the lock programmatically when in wwwroot? The client will probably want the app published to the root directory. Thank you very much.

• Exchange 2003 ActiveSync fine but GAL lookups not working

  We have Exchange 2003 SP2 and use ActiveSync for our mobile devices (iOS and sever Android versions). Everything works except for GAL lookups and we've confirmed that the devices and client versions we are trying it on are supposed to support it. The symptom is different depending on the client, but there is never an error. In a nutshell, lookups return no results. This was working previously and we aren't sure what has changed. Are there logs in Exchange or IIS that will allow me to see GAL lookup transactions? Could it be a GAL permissions issue? (No issues with GAL in Outlook) Could it have been caused by upgrading our DCs to 2008 and increasing the forest/domain functional levels?

• Windows Server 2008R2 IIS7.5, Requests getting 401 status

  We have a web site running in windows server 2008r2 iis7.5 and we are seeing several errors reported from our global error handler saying that "Request Timed Out". I matched up one to the IIS log file and see the request took 135116 (presumably milliseconds) had an sc-status of 401 an sc-sub0status of 0 and an sc-win32-status of 64. 2 requests failed in these way but lots of surrounding requests (1979 successful requests vs 2 fails) for the same user went through perfectly fine- with the same cs-username which makes a 401 seem a little odd. The target of the requests is an ASP.Net web service's web method called by the .net client library- it's called a lot of times per user (3 times per second) to keep a page updated. We're getting some users reportng seeing a freezing effect and I think this may be the cause, any ideas? Peter

  I am getting this error on almost all of the operations on a Windows 7 pro 32 bit machine. By operations I mean anything I do. Update a repo from subversion. Access a local IIS Site. Copy a big folder. Run an installer.and sometime if I try again. It get solved. I think there is something wrong wit windows7 . I searched around and found posts suggesting to increase IRPStackSize value in registry I did that no Luck. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials Version: 1.0.1961.0 as my antivirus package Once this errors starts popping up. I have to restart and then in after some random time. It starts showing up again. Any help is appreciated. I am losing lot of my time in restarting my system or retrying again and again.

• How to get a service to listen on port 80 on Windows Server 2003

  I've coded a custom windows service that listens on TCP port 80 but when I try to install it on a Windows Server 2003 machine it fails to start because some other service is already listening on that port. So far I've disabled the IIS Admin service and the HTTP SSL service but no luck. When I run netstat -a -n -o | findstr 0.0:80 it gives me the process id 4 as the culprit, but when I look at the running processes that process id points to the "System" process. What can I do to get the System process to stop listening on port 80 and get my service to listen instead? P.S. I should point out that the service runs fine if I install it on my Windows XP or Windows 7 development boxes. Also, I should specify that this has nothing to do with it being a service. I've tried starting a regular application that attempts to bind to port 80 on the Windows Server 2003 with the same outcome - it fails because another application is already bound to that port.

  I'm building a little app using Java and Swing in NetBeans. Using NetBeans design window, I created a JFrame with a JPanel inside. Now I want to dynamically add some jTextFields to the JPanel. I'm a total newbie in writing graphical Java apps, so I'm surely missing something very simple, but I can't see what.

• 64bit server running in 32bit mode using incorrect locale

  I have a 64bit server that we are running an application on in 32bit mode. For whatever reason the locale of the 32bit process is coming through as en-US when the server is set to en-GB. I am guessing that the reason for this is there is that the 64bit and WOW64 are not sharring the locale settings. So my question is how do you set the locale for a 32bit process? This is Windows 2003. The application is an asp.net app running under IIS in 32bit mode. This setup is definitely not my choice.

• Embedding an existing exe file into another program

  Is there a way to link an existing .exe file with other C++ source files during compilation? What I'm actually trying to do is to compress and decompress some files in my console program using LZMA(7zip) SDK but unfortunately it's very difficult to use for a newbie. There is a command line version of LZMA called 7za.exe and I am wondering if I can somehow embed it into my program and use it like a function. It can be easily used with system() function (which seems to be a very dangerous thing to use) but then if I send my program to someone who doesn't have 7za.exe in the right folder it won't work. I came across CreateProcess() function in windows.h header files but it seems to achieve what system() does in a more proper and advanced way. I don't know if it can actually link the exe file like an object file during compilation

• nginx is not using gzip to talk to backend servers

  Our web servers are running IIS 7 and are configured to compress dynamic and static content. When I hit these servers directly, gzip compression works. I recently placed nginx in front of them, and gzip compression has stopped. I was able to work around this by explicitly enabling gzip compression on nginx itself, but that seems a little inefficient considering I have half a dozen backends and only one active nginx box. It appears that nginx is stripping out the Accept-Encoding header. Does anyone have any advice for how to 'correct' this behavior? • Should I Use PHP as FastCGI?

  Hi, I am running an Apache webserver on my Windows machine. It is not generally a public server (most of the little bit of traffic comes from the machine itself, and most of the public traffic comes from crawlers). Basically, it is mostly just for use as a test-bed, development system. I have read about how running PHP as FastCGI is better (ie faster and more stable) than as an Apache module. However, I really don’t like the idea of multiple PHP.exe processes (I don’t like that Apache has two processes and I’m not even too thrilled with Chromium’s multi-process model). So I’m wondering if it would be worthwhile to change PHP to FastCGI for this scenario. If it is, how would I configure it? Pretty much all of the information I have seen has been either for non-Windows or for IIS. As I said, I’m running Windows+Apache. Thanks a lot.

• How do I enable mutual SSL in IIS7 with a self-signed certificate?

  I've created a self-signed certificate in IIS7. Then I exported this certificate to a .pfx and then installed it on the client machine's IE browser. Then I set "Require Client Certificate" on the server's IIS configuration. When I try to visit the site with IE, a dialog box comes up for me to choose a certificate, however, there are no certs in that dialog box. When I click "OK" without choosing any certs, I get a 403 forbidden error. How can I make this work? Appreciate the help in advance.

• cannot connect to MS FTP 7.5 on Windows 2008 on Amazon EC2 instance

  I have just installed the MS FTP 7.5 upgrade on my Windows 2008 Server (Service Pack 2) running on an Amazon EC2 instance. In the FTP Firewall Support settings for the server in IIS Manager I have set up the passive port range 45001 - 45005 and also set the External Firewall IP address to match the assigned Amazon Elastic IP address. Using the AWS Console I changed the Security Group for the server to allow access to the server through ports 21 and 45001 through 45005. Using an FTP client (either the command line FTP client or Windows Explorer) on the Amazon server I can connect to the FTP server but I cannot connect with an external FTP client. When I checked to see which ports were open on the server using Shields Up it shows that port 21 is open but ports 45001 to 45005 are closed. I assume I'm missing something. Any help greatly appreciated.

• Releasing NSData causes exception...

  Hi, Can someone please explain why the following code causes my app to bomb? NSData *myImage = UIImagePNGRepresentation(imageView.image); : [myImage release]; If I comment out the 'release' line, the app runs... but a few times calling the function containing this code and I get a crash - I guess caused by a memory leak. Even if I comment EVERYTHING else in the function out and just leave those two lines, when the release executes, the app crashes. I'm sure this must be a newbie "you don't know how to clean up your mess properly" kind of thing ;-) Cheers, Jamie.

In my Grails application, I have the following domain class. class Book { org.joda.time.DateTime releaseDate //I use the PersistentDateTime for persisting via Hibernate (that use a DATETIME type for MySQL DB) } In my HQL query, I want to retrieve books whose release date is included in range date1..date2 For instance I tried: DateTime date1, date2 ... def queryStr = "select * from Book as b where b.releaseDate > $date1 and b.releaseDate < $date2" def res = Book.executeQuery(queryStr) But I got the exception ...caused by: org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateQueryException: unexpected token: The error token points to date format (for instance 2009-11-27T21:57:18.010+01:00 or Fri Nov 27 22:01:20 CET 2009) I have also tried to convert date1 into a Date class without success So what is the correct HQL code ?   Hello All, I have one server 2008 installed with AD, SQL and IIS. Now I am trying to attach different HDD on this server only. I am able to install windows server 2008 r2 64bit on the server, but when I try to install the ActiveDirectory on the server the setup doesn't get completed and keep processing at following level. "Configuring Active directory and local host domains ......." If I attach same HDD on any other PC Active directory setups completes successfully. My server is Xeon quad core with 8GB of RAM. Can any one help the appropriate solution for this?

• What are your build and release steps? When to increment build numbers?

  I am having trouble defining and automating my build process despite simple requirements: Every build should have a unique build number. Every tagged release should be reproducible What I have: A C++, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x, Subversion development environment. A build machine ( actually a virtual machine ) A version.h file with #defines for major, minor, and buildnumber. A script for incrementing the version.h buildnumber. A rpmbuild spec file that exports the tagged Subversion source, builds, and makes the rpm installer packages. Questions: Assuming multiple developers per project, when should the build number be incremented and version.h file be checked-in? The build machine? Some sort of Subversion hook? "<br/>"; echo addcslashes($a,"i")"; ?> this is the error message I get: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '"', expecting ',' or ';' in /home/specials/public_html/bextool.com/1.php on line 7 Is there any body who can explain about it?

• PHP OOP properity constant usage

  Hi there. I'm really new to OOP. I'm even not a newbie - I'm noob. So. I want to transfer my pseudo-CMS from "normal" programming, into OOP programming system. And so: private static $dsn = DB_TYPE.':host='.DB_HOST.';dbname='.DB_NAME; What here causes problem? Usage of constraints? I don't know. My editor (aptana studio) shows error after 1 constant.
