  • Drawing a route in mapkit in iphone sdk

    - by PRN
Hello, I want to draw a route between 2 locations on the map.. something as a tour guide. When the tourist clicks another location i want to be able to draw the route as well as inform the distance from current location. I am aware of sites on the internet which tell how to draw polylines on map. But,one such example had a preloaded .csv file with various coordinates. Is there an alternate way to get the coordinates..as the location is selected dynamically. If no, how do i get the information for intermediate coordinates? Am a newbie. so please dont mind me asking this question. Thanks in advance.

    - by Mrigank Gupta
I am little confused with my Opengl game loop. as I am skipping touch events some times. My game loop is some thing like this.. I have ScreenManager which draw and update all game screens who so ever has control. In update I am checking input of all screen also. if input state changes, then whichever screen has control, consume touches. EaglView draw update | | ScreenManager.draw ScreenManager.update -> handle input stack ___________ ___________ of ___________ ___________ screen ___________ ___________ Problem comes.. I am changing input state as touch begun and end methods called. but sometimes In my game loop both touchbegun/end methods get called between two updates and I am missing events. I guess approach is not good. can you guys share your approach to this problem.

  • Matlab multiple graph types inside one graph

    - by mirekys
Hi, I have a task to draw electrostatic field between two electrodes( at given sizes and shape ), what i have now is that i draw the electrodes with area plot (area(elect_x,elect_y)) the graph looks like this: ------------------.--- |.. .---. |.. |...| |.. .----....| |.. |........| |.. ---------------------- and now i would need to draw inside this probably a mesh, showing the field. Is there any way to do it, or i´m on a wrong way? Thank you very much for every guide

  • Why do I get a null pointer exception from TabWidget?

    - by rushinge
    I'm writing an android program in which I have an activity that uses tabs. The Activity public class UnitActivity extends TabActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); TabHost tabHost = getTabHost(); TabSpec spec; Resources res = getResources(); LayoutInflater.from(this).inflate(R.layout.unit_view, tabHost.getTabContentView(), true); spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("controls"); spec.setIndicator("Control", res.getDrawable(R.drawable.ic_tab_equalizer)); spec.setContent(R.id.txtview); tabHost.addTab(spec); } } The XML referenced by R.layout.unit_view <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TabHost xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/tabhost" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:padding="5dp"> <TabWidget android:id="@android:id/tabs" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> <FrameLayout android:id="@android:id/tabcontent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:padding="5dp"> <TextView android:id="@+id/txtview" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="bottom" android:text="nullpointer this!" /> </FrameLayout> </LinearLayout> </TabHost> As far as I can see I'm doing the same thing I see in the tabs1 api sample from the android sdk. I've tried "getLayoutInflator()" instead of "LayoutInflator.from(this)" with the same result. If I replace the LayoutInflater line with "setContentView(R.layout.unit_view)" my program doesn't crash with a null pointer exception but my content is completely blank and empty. I get the tab and that's it. I've checked to make sure R.layout.unit_view and tabHost are not null when it runs the LayoutInflater line and they seem to be fine. They're defenitely not null. I've also checked to make sure LayoutInflater.from(this) returns a valid layout inflater object and it does. The logcat indicating the error says E/AndroidRuntime( 541): java.lang.NullPointerException E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.widget.TabWidget.dispatchDraw(TabWidget.java:206) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6538) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1531) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1529) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1258) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6538) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.draw(PhoneWindow.java:1830) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewRoot.draw(ViewRoot.java:1349) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewRoot.performTraversals(ViewRoot.java:1114) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1633) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4363) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) E/AndroidRuntime( 541): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) I/Process ( 61): Sending signal. My actual program is more complex and has more than one tab but I simplified it down to this in an attempt to find out why it's crashing but it still crashes and I don't know why. If I don't use LayoutInflator my program doesn't crash but I don't get any content either, just tabs.

  • composite colors : CALayer and blend mode on iPhone

    - by Ali
I'm trying to use core image on the iphone. I'm able to composite my colors using quartz to draw an uiview, but i want to separate each component into CALayer (UIview consume more resources). So i have a white mask i want to use to filter a background bitmap, and i want to try diffrent blending mode. UNfortunately, the layers are only "adding" their colors. Here is my code : @implementation WhiteLayerHelper - (void)drawLayer:(CALayer *)theLayer inContext:(CGContextRef)myContext { // draw a white overlay, with special blending and alpha values, so that the saturation can be animated CGContextSetBlendMode(myContext,kCGBlendModeSaturation); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(myContext,1.0,1.0,1.0,0.9); CGContextFillRect(myContext,[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds); } @end And here is the main view drawrect code, where i use my CALayer : - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { //get the drawing context CGContextRef myContext = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); // draw the background [self fillContext:myContext withBounds:m_overlayRect withImage:m_currentImage]; [whiteLayer renderInContext:myContext]; } Is there something wrong ?

  • Drawing the call stack in a recursive method

    - by Shaza
Hey, I want to draw the call stack for any recursive method, so I've created a schema like this, recursiveMethod(){ //Break recursion condition if(){ // Add value here to the return values' list- No drawing return } else{ //Draw stack with the value which will be pushed to the stack here variable <- recursiveMethod() //Clear the drawing which represents the poped value from the stack here return variable }} Notes: This schema can draw recursive methods with n recursive call by making the recursive calls in a separate return statements. returnValues list, is a list which save all the return values, just for viewing issues. What do you think of this? any suggestions are extremely welcomed.

  • Drawing lines between views in a TableLayout

    - by RiThBo
Firstly - sorry if you saw my other question which I deleted. My question was flawed. Here is a better version If I have two views, how do I draw a (straight) line between them when one of them is touched? The line needs to be dynamic so it can follow the finger until it reaches the second view where it "locks on". So, when view1 is touched a straight line is drawn which then follows the finger until it reaches view2. I created a LineView class that extends view, but I don't how to proceed. I read some tutorials but none show how to do this. I think I need to get the coordinates of both view, and then create a path which "updates" on MotionEvent. I can get the coordinates and the ids of the views I want to draw a line between, but the line that I try to draw between them either goes above it, or the line does not reach past the width and height of the view. Any advice/code/clarity would be much appreciated! Here is some code: My layout. I want to draw a line between two views contained in theTableLayout.# <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/activity_game_relative_layout" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <TableLayout android:layout_marginTop="35dp" android:layout_marginBottom="35dp" android:id="@+id/tableLayout1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" > <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_3" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_7" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_8" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.dotte.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_9" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </RelativeLayout> This is my LineView class. I use this to try and draw the actual line between the points. public class LineView extends View { Paint paint = new Paint(); float startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY; public LineView(Context context) { super(context); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub paint.setColor(Color.BLACK); paint.setStrokeWidth(10); } public void setPoints(float startX, float startY, float endX, float endY) { startingX = startX; startingY = startY; endingX = endX; endingY = endY; invalidate(); } @Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.drawLine(startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY, paint); } } And this is my Activity. public class Game extends Activity { DotView dv1, dv2, dv3, dv4, dv5, dv6, dv7; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_game); getWindow().getDecorView().setSystemUiVisibility( View.SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE); findDotIds(); RelativeLayout rl = (RelativeLayout) findViewById(R.id.activity_game_relative_layout); LineView lv = new LineView(this); lv.setPoints(dv1.getLeft(), dv1.getTop(), dv7.getLeft(), dv7.getTop()); rl.addView(lv); // TODO: Get the coordinates of all the dots in the TableLayout. • OpenGLES mix and match blending options complicated question

    - by DevDevDev
So I have a background line drawing, black and white. I want to be able to draw over this, keeping the black lines in there, and drawing only where it is white. I can do this by using glBlendFunc(GL_DST_COLOR, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); And the black stays black and white gets whatever color I want. However in the white areas, I want to be able to draw some color, pick to another color and then blend. However this doesn't work because the blend function is messed up. So what I was thinking is having a linedrawing framebuffer, and a user-drawing framebuffer. The user draws into the userdrawing framebuffer, with a different blending, and then I switch blending options and draw into the linedrawing framebuffer. But i don't know enough OpenGL to say whether or not this will work or is a stupid idea. Thanks a lot

  • translation/rotation of a HUD against a camera using vectors in Euclidian 3D space

    - by Jakob
i've got 2 points in 3D space: the camera position and the camera lookAt. the camera movement is restricted akin to typical first person shooter games. you can move the cam freely, tilt horizontally and up to 90 degrees vertically, but not roll. so now i want to draw a HUD to the screen, on which i can move the mouse freely, with the position of the cursor correctly translating into 3D space. the easy part was to draw something directly in front of the camera. V0 = camPos; V1 = lookAt; V2 = lookAt-camPos; normalize V2; mutiply V2 according to camera frustum V3 = V0+V2 draw something at V3 now the part i don't get: i could use V3 and add to that the rotations of the cam combined with the x/y of the mouse cursor, somehow, right? that's what i want.

  • OpenGL ES clarifying question regarding FBOs -- sorry can't find this info anywhere else?

    - by DevDevDev
If I instantiate an FBO without binding a rendering buffer or a texture to it, what happens when I draw to it, nothing? Do I need to associate a rendering target (renderbuffer or texture) to have an FBO do anything? What I'm trying to do is precache some buffers and then merge them later, but that doesn't seem to work at all. Ideally I'd like to do something like glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, fbo1); // Draw some stuff to fbo1 glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, fbo2); // Draw some stuff to fbo2 // ... // ... // glRenderFbo(fbo1); -- Not a func // Set blending, etc. etc. // glRenderFbo(fbo2); -- Not a func

  • Image Drawing on UIView

    - by user1180261
I'm trying to create an application where I can draw a lot of pictures at a specific point (determined for each image) on one view. I have a coordinates where I need draw a picture, width and height of it For example: I have 2 billion jpeg's images. for each images I have a specific origin point and size. In 1 second I need draw on view 20-50 images in specific point. I have already tryid solve that in the next way: UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions(self.previewScreen.bounds.size, YES, 0); [self.previewScreen.image drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(0, 0)]; [image drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(nRect.left, nRect.top)]; UIImage *imagew = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); [self.previewScreen setImage:imagew]; but in this solution I have a very big latency with displaying images and big CPU usage WBR Maxim Tartachnik

  • Most effective way of drawing 4 lines in an iPhone app?

    - by Ross
basic question, but I'm unsure. Not looking for code as an answer. I want to draw 4 short lines 1px lines on a view. What is the best way to approach this task? Options:- Load an image of the line, then create 4 UIImageViews with it. Create my own subclass of a UIView that draws a line in the draw rect method. Draw elsewhere on another view, another UIImageView that has an UIImage inside it (is this possible?) Another way? Thanks Ross

  • iPhone - Drawing 2D Shapes

    - by Hawdon
Hi guys! I have an array of 2D points which make an irregular polygon. What I want to do is draw the borders of it and then fill it with a color. I am using Cocos2d to code the game around, but I have not found a fill function in Cocos2d, only the ccDrawLine and such. Is there a simple way to draw filled shapes in Cocos2? I have also noted that Core Graphics would work beautifully for this purpose, but I am not able to integrate it with Cocos2d. I put this in to the draw function of my CCLayer: CGContextRef ctx = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextClearRect(ctx, [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]); And every time I run it i get this error: <Error>: CGContextClearRect: invalid context I really need to get this working... Any ideas?

  • XNA 4.0 - What happens when the window is minimized?

    - by Conrad Clark
Hello. I'm learning F#, and decided to try making simple XNA games for windows using F# (pure enthusiasm) , and got a window with some images showing up. Here's the code: (*Methods*) member self.DrawSprites() = _spriteBatch.Begin() for i = 0 to _list.Length-1 do let spentity = _list.List.ElementAt(i) _spriteBatch.Draw(spentity.ImageTexture,new Rectangle(100,100,(int)spentity.Width,(int)spentity.Height),Color.White) _spriteBatch.End() (*Overriding*) override self.Initialize() = ChangeGraphicsProfile() _graphicsDevice <- _graphics.GraphicsDevice _list.AddSprite(0,"NagatoYuki",992.0,990.0) base.Initialize() override self.LoadContent() = _spriteBatch <- new SpriteBatch(_graphicsDevice) base.LoadContent() override self.Draw(gameTime : GameTime) = base.Draw(gameTime) _graphics.GraphicsDevice.Clear(Color.CornflowerBlue) self.DrawSprites() And the AddSprite Method: member self.AddSprite(ID : int, imageTexture : string , width : float, height : float) = let texture = content.Load<Texture2D>(imageTexture) list <- list @ [new SpriteEntity(ID,list.Length, texture,Vector2.Zero,width,height)] The _list object has a ContentManager, here's the constructor: type SpriteList(_content : ContentManager byref) = let mutable content = _content let mutable list = [] But I can't minimize the window, since when it regains its focus, i get this error: ObjectDisposedException Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'GraphicsDevice'. What is happening?

  • Drawing a continuous rectangle

    - by JAYMIN
Hi..i m currently working on visual c++ 2008 express edition.. in my project i have a picturebox which contains an image, now i have to draw a rectangle to enaable the user to select a part of the image.. I have used the "MouseDown" event of the picturebox and the below code to draw a rectangle: Void pictureBox1_MouseDown(System::Object^ sender, Windows::Forms::MouseEventArgs^ e) { Graphics^ g = pictureBox1-CreateGraphics(); Pen^ pen = gcnew Pen(Color::Blue); g-DrawRectangle( pen , e-X ,e-Y,width,ht); } now in the "DrawRectangle" the arguments "width" and "ht" are static, so the above code results in the drawing of a rectangle at the point where the user presses the mouse button on the image in picturebox... i want to allow the user to be able to drag the cursor and draw a rectangle of size that he wishes to.. Plz help me on this.. Thanx..

  • How to represent a Board Panel in Java for a game ?

    - by FILIaS
I wanna fix a 2D board for a game. I've already fixed other panels for the Gui and everything goes well. But the panel for the board cant be printed on the window. I'm a bit confused about it as i think i've followed the same ideas as for the others panels i need. Here's what i've done: EDIT:*EDIT* what i'm trying to do is fix a board panel for the game according to the dimensions of the it,hold every square in an array in order to use it after wherever it;s needed. I draw each little square of it with the method draw and put it back to the panel. So, each square on the board is a panel. This is the idea. But as u can see. There are troubles/errors on it. EDIT: code updated. just found a part of the problem. i thought first that i had set background to squared, but i didnt. with this one it appears on the panel a wide black "column". Unfortunately, still none squares. :( One More EDIT: Also,i realized that draw method is never called. when i put the draw method in the following method i can see the squares but they remain small. I redefine them with setSize but still no change. How can I use paint method to edit the panels properly???? As it is now it can't. Even it can't return an object(eg panel) as it's polymorphic void! /** *Method used to construct the square in the area of the *gui's grid. • C# Calling Methods in Generic Classes

    - by aip.cd.aish
I am extending the ImageBox control from EmguCV. The control's Image property can be set to anything implementing the IImage interface. All of the following implement this interface: Image<Bgr, Byte> Image<Ycc, Byte> Image<Hsv, Byte> Now I want to call the Draw method on the object of the above type (what ever it may be). The problem is when I access the Image property, the return type is IImage. IImage does not implement the Draw method, but all of the above do. I believe I can cast the object of type IImage to one of the above (the right one) and I can access the Draw method. But how do I know what the right one is? If you have a better way of doing this, please suggest that as well.

  • Windows Phone Mango: Making a drawing app with various brushes option

    - by Md. Abdul Munim
I am trying to make a drawing app. The purpose is simple. Let the user draw something on a canvas with various brush options like square brush, far brush, pencil brush and many more like any other drawing app available in android market. At present I can let the user draw smooth curves using following code: currentPoint = e.GetPosition(this.canvas); Line line = new Line() { X1 = currentPoint.X, Y1 = currentPoint.Y, X2 = oldPoint.X, Y2 = oldPoint.Y }; line.Stroke = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Purple); line.StrokeThickness = 2; this.drawnImage.Add(line); this.canvas.Children.Add(line); oldPoint = currentPoint; Now I want some custom brush options and let the user draw using that. How can I achieve that? Thanks in advance.

  • how can c# help in drawing using memory layers concept?

    - by moon
hello all i am facing problem in drawing dynamically in a picture box. i works very good when the drawing objects are few but as the drawing objects increases the response time of my GUI is getting worse and worse, my GUI works very well up to 90 drawing objects but i have to support more than 1000 so this technique didn't work for me. know i have decided to adopt layers mechanism, i mean i will draw different layers of drawing in memory and then XOR them to load the final image to my display. the question is "i Can play directly with memory do draw layers using C# (Examples needed?)" other ideas are also appreciated, (Drawing objects means the shapes line, circles etc. that i have to draw on my GUI) thanx in advance

  • Winform not scrolling when drawing objects on it

    - by dezkev
Hello All, C#3.0,.net framework 3.5 I am drawing ( using the draw method in the graphics class) a lot of solid rectangles on a windows form vertically. The form starts at 500 x 500 px and the rectangles are only drawn at runtime after data is downloaded from the net -and the number of rectangles depends on the download so I do not know it upfront. So only a few rectangles are drawn as the size of the form is fixed. So I googled/Binged ( lest someone suggest I do that) and found a few tips but they don't work in this case -like setting the forms AutoScroll property to true or trying double buffering.I also tried to draw on a listbox control and set it's scroll property etc...but no dice. I'm guessing there is no way to display , say 200 rectangles vertically on a windows form using draw. I need some other solution... any ideas please. Maybe a list of pictureboxes and then populate each picturebox with the solid color ? Thanks
