• Django template not loading javascript and css properly due to urlpatterns

  Hey, When this one runs everything goes fine: (r"^newobject$", "views.myobjects.newobject"), All the CSS + JS files are properly fetched from: static/css/... static/js/... When this one runs: (r"^mybjects/(([a-z]|[A-Z]|[0-9])+)$","views.myobjects.loadobject"), All the css and JS files that are being fetched, are run trough the urlpatterns and are returning my defailt page: (r"", 'views.main.index'), This makes all my CSS and JS code to actualy be HTML. My guess is that i'm giving some noob mistake. Is there any common reason why this should happen? And how to fix it?

  I use cocos2d for iphone and in my game I'm using a sprite as static background image. I've noticed that when removing code for adding the sprite the framerate goes from ~30fps to over 40fps. Is it any other way to show a static background that is less expensive? I'm not moving the background sprite at all. • While loop in IL - why stloc.0 and ldloc.0?

  I'm trying to understand how a while loop looks in IL. What I don't understand is the local [0] and the stloc.0/ldloc.0. As far as I see it, cgt pushes the result to the stack, stloc.0 gets the result from the stack into the local variable, ldloc.0 pushes the result to the stack again and brtrue.s reads from the stack. What is the purpose of doing this? Couldn't this be shortened to just cgt followed by brtrue.s?

• Start exe even with missing dependency dlls?

  In Dotnet2.0 and later a program refuses to start if one of its dependent (static referenced) dlls are missing. With Dotnet1.1 and 1.0 the program started but crashed later when trying to use functionality of the missing assembly. I wonder if there is something like a compiler switch , configuration option or a dotnet [attribute] to allow me to start the app when certain dlls are missing. Is it possible without moidfying the sourcecode (execpt by applying some Attriutes)? I don't want to manualy load assemblies by programcode or use IOC-Framworks. Update: With "static referenced dlls" i mean the opposite of dynamicly loading a dll in my own programcode using reflection and Assembly.Loadxxxx(). Update 2010-12-25: This scenario happens for example if you want to use Log4net with Dotnet4 clientprofile together with a WinForms-Aplication: Log4net requires System.Web.dll that is not in Dotnet4-Clientprofile. You must install dotnet4-web-support to use the winforms-aplication that is compiled against log4net unless there is some magic Compiler-switch/Attribute/Configuration that i am still looking for.

At the point when I want to stop the thread I do that: counter.interrupt() In my thread I periodically do this check: Thread.interrupted().   I am preparing for my test tomorrow and this is one of the practice questions. I solved it partially but I am confused with the rest. Here is the problem: Consider a gray world with no ambient and specular lighting ( only diffuse lighting). The screen coordinates of a triangle P1,P2,P3, are P1=(100,100), P2= (300,150), P3 = (200, 200). The gray values at P!,P2,P3 are 1/2, 3/4, and 1/4 respectively. The light is at infinity and its direction and gray color are (1,1,1) and 1.0 respectively. The coefficients of diffused reflection is 1/2. The normals of P1,P2,P3 are N1= (0,0,1), N2 = (1,0,0), and N3 = (0,1,0) respectively. Consider the coordinates of three points P1,P2,P3 to be 0. Do not normalize the normals. I have computed that the illumination at the 3 vertices P1,P2,P3 is (1/4,3/8,1/8). Also I computed that interpolation coefficients of a point P inside the triangle whose coordinates are (220, 160) are given by (1/5,2/5,2/5). Now I have 4 more questions regarding this problem. 1) The illumination at P using Gouraud Shading is: i) 1/2 The answer is 1/2, but I have no idea how to compute it.. 2) The interpolated normal at P is given by i) (2/5, 2/5,1/5) ii) (1/2, 1/4, 1/4) iii) (3/5, 1/5, 1/5) 3) The interpolated color at P is given by: i) 1/2 Again, I know the correct answer but no idea how to solve it 4) The illumination at P using Phong Shading is i) 1/4 ii) 9/40 iii) 1/2

• Explanation for expires header

  I have a joomla application working on Apache.To improve site performace we have written a .htaccess file to root of the application with setting a far future expires header to all the static content. As desired first time the files load in fresh with 200 status code. when again click on the same link many of the files are served directly from cache. I need explanation for two things When i press f5 then a number of files load with 304 status code however i expected them to be coming directly from cache without hitting the server for a status header? When i close the browser and come back to the same page again i see the same thing happening a number of files load with 304 status code although i thought they will load directly from the browser cache? I understand that 304 also servs file from browser cache but i want to avoid the header communication between servers as my static files wont ever change. Also i want to add that my requests are over a https connection does that create any issue.

  I have a main page that has multiple user controls on it. All the user controls have static text and some data to be retrieved from the DB. The aysnchronous DB call is clubbed at the page level and one call is made to avoid multiple calls (in the different user controls) to get the same data. I want the page and user controls to load initially with the static text and later refresh the contents obtained from the server. To sum it all up, Page Loads = Asyn calls fired on page load = Data received back from the server (XML/text/whatever) = User controls to load with this data using AJAX. What methods do I have to let the user controls know that I have the data from the server and they need to update with this data?

  I am flailing about with wxWidgets, in particular, the wx.Sizer in wxPython. I have read the documents, I have a copy of wXPython in Action before me, and have set aside the problem to work on other things a better mental model of sizers hopefully gestated within my skull. None of this has worked. I am not grokking, or even getting to the point where I can bang about usefully, how sizers work. In HTML, I could at least set a background color on some div or td, or call forth borders so I could see how things are laid out. Here, I have a grey expanse and no idea which of the nested static box sizers from which it originates. I am giving static box sizers after making a mess out of the grid bag sizers. Either alternative would let me at least get a handle on how these work.

The container provides database connections, DAO's,Mappers and their resultant Domain Objects on request. At the point when a user sets values on a Domain Object class, I need to mark the class as "dirty" in the Monitor class. I have one of three options as I can see it 1: Pass an instance of the Monitor class to the Domain Object. I noticed this gets marked as recursive in FirePHP - i.e. $this-Monitor-markModified($this) 2: Instantiate the Monitor directly in the Domain Object - does this break DI? 3: Make the Monitor methods static, and call them from inside the Domain Object - this breaks DI too doesn't it? What would be your recommended course of action (other than use an existing ORM, I'm doing this for fun...)

• Trying to write a loop that uses an OutputStream to write to a text file.

  I'm not a java programmer, I'm a VB programmer. I am doing this as part of an assignment, however, I'm not asking for help on something assignment related. I'd like to figure out how to get the OutputStreamWriter to work properly in this instance. I just want to capture the values I'm generating and place them into a text document. The file is generated, but only one entry exists, not the 40 I'm expecting. I could do this in a heartbeat with VB, but java feels very strange to me right now. Your help is appreciated. • Compilers behave differently with a null parameter of a generic method

  The following code compiles perfectly with Eclipse, but fails to compile with javac: public class HowBizarre { public static <P extends Number, T extends P> void doIt(P value) { } public static void main(String[] args) { doIt(null); } } I simplified the code, so T is not used at all now. Still, I don't see a reason for the error. For some reason javac decides that T stands for Object, and then complains that Object does not conform to the bounds of T (which is true): HowBizarre.java:6: incompatible types; inferred type argument(s) java.lang.Number,java.lang.Object do not conform to bounds of type variable (s) P,T found : <P,T>void required: void doIt(null); ^ Note that if I replace the null parameter with a non-null value, it compiles fine. Which of the compilers behaves correctly and why? Is this a bug of one of them?

I managed to edit the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT so that a click on file with .xyz extension will open my application. basically, i need to do some operation on this file when it's clicked. however, i realise that if i do that the first time, it reaches program.cs at static void Main. but when the program is running and i click on the file with .xyz extension again, it doesnt loads the program static void Main. i tried setting breakpoints at the form that is currently running but still nothing. so where does it go to? how can i detect file .xyz is clicked and do something??

• From simple physics with a ball, to a more complicated shape

  Hello fellow game devs and stack overflowers... I recently made a transition from OpenGL ES 1.1 to 2.0 (on Android via NDK) and things are going well so far. I'm working on doing a dice rolling application (gaming dice up to 20 sided, not just regular 6 sided die) as a way to learn more about how physics is implemented in a gaming environment. I've explored implementing existing engine options (such as Bullet) and I don't think I need to implement something quite so sophisticated. I've found several tutorials that handle a lot of the general physics involved with initial trajectory, velocity, angle of contact and reflection angle, etc. I'm confident that I'd be able to implement ball-like behavior without much trouble. My question lies in when I attempt to make the interaction of the die shape with another surface more "realistic," for example... the die strikes the floor surface at such an angle where only one corner makes contact with the floor. In my mind, the center of gravity of the object would play a part in determining how the die bounces away, possibly even spinning it it faster, etc... but I am not sure what the actual math involved is. Are there any recommended resources for getting into this level of detail? Initial searches haven't turned up much... Thanks to everyone in the community, -Jeremiah
