  • Nvidia SLI Disabled on Windows 8. I installed thte Nvidia Windows 8 drivers

    Details I recently upgraded to Windows 8 Enterprise trial. After installing, I downloaded the Nvidia Windows 8 x64 install package, and it installed fine. After rebooting I got a message stating that SLI was disabled. And in the configuration menu the option to enable SLI is grayed out. I have confirmed the SLI is connected properly. Any thoughts?   • where to get an IBM jre for 64-bit Windows?

    I know this is stupid: I couldn't find anything from IBM website about where to download an IBM jre (specifically, IBM jre1.6.0 J9 2.4 SR6) for a 64-bit Windows OS. Google takes me to a link which looks similar, but that jre would only work on an IBM product, I assume their own server/workstation or something like that. So I've been stuck by this for quite some time... I couldn't believe there is no such a "previous version repository" or something similar on IBM website :( Thanks for any suggestion in advance.

    Don't remember this from earlier, but my mouse is lagging when I refresh specific websites in Chrome and Firefox. I can't observe such lags with Internet Explorer.     I have Windows 8 available through MSDN, as such, I have access to a lot of things such as volume licensing, though for now I'm just using the regular single-license Windows 8 Enterprise. I've tried to get side-loading to work without having a developer license but I can't. Looking over some things on the internet seems to indicate that you need "a side-loading product key". Where can I get such a thing?

    I've a VPS with a svn server installed on it. When I try to connect to it I get a connection error like: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn://nax.tolstoy.eu' I know is not my home connection because i have another svn server wokring. Anyway, the server is listening the port. tcp 0 0 :::3690 :::* LISTEN 6023/svnserve And I can't acces via telnet too. (Server doesn't have iptables, as much I can see) Any idea?

There are few things I need to have working though: Each repository should have its own ACL, with different users allowed to push/pull It shouldn't be ssh-based (it shouldn't require users to have shell accounts on that machine) So, I guess that leaves me with some https with basic authentication, right?     Our redmine server is not responding due to connecting it to a large repository. It has not crashed but it's just busy until it checks it out, or whatever redmine does when you set a new repo for a project. What is surprisning is that this operation is not running int the background but blocking the server. Is there any way to have redmine to this in the background next time we connect a large repo?     My post-commit hook looks like this: pushd C:\Websites\Project svn update I am updating my server copy of repository. When I commit client stopped on sending content and locked or I dont know. Its is waiting for something. So when I cancel and try to update manually on server, I see: Working copy "." lockedsvn And only after manual cleanup and update again, I get updated revision, that was really commited. What I do wrong?

    I'm running a Java application with an Oracle 10g. I've discovered kind of a race condition that leads to an inifite long waiting time for an UPDATE statement. To solve this situation I'd like to find out what this statement is waiting for (locks on certain tables caused by statement xy etc.). I tried to use the Oracle Enterprise Manager which has found this situation as well but it doesn't tell my the reason for the wait.

    I am using Windows 8 Enterprise edition. Bluetooth is not detected by the OS and drivers. I tried to install Windows 7 bluetooth drivers, but it says no bluetooth device is detected. If I change to Windows 7 without any driver, bluetooth is working. This issue exists in developer preview, consumer preview and release preview. I don't know how to turn on bluetooth. System Config : 3Gp ram, Core2Duo processor.

  • Hibernate Query Language Problem

    Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. I have applied query : select distinct userName, aid, pid from ProjectAssignment Whereas the ProjectAssignment.java file has the fields in sequence aid, pid & userName. Now, here the userName is first field in output. So, Casting is not getting possible. Also, query : select aid, pid, distinct userName from ProjectAssignment is not working. What is the proper query for the same ? Or what else the solution ?   • Converting LDAP from Tomcat to GlassFish

    Hi, I have a simple web-app that is developed in Netbeans(6.8) and works fine in Tomcat(6) using LDAP(Active Directory). I need to convert this to an EE (JSF2), so I am moving from Tomcat to GlassFish(v3). I have changed the web files to xhtml and configured the xml files. However, I cannot get the GlassFish LDAP configuration to authenticate. I am attaching my old web.xml and server.xml (from Tomcat) snippets and the portions of the new web.xml, sun-web.xml, and the GlassFish configuration. If anyone can help me figure out where I am missing the piece that will allow a user to be authenticated, I would appreciate it. (btw, I am not using roles, just authenticating against the LDAP db is good enought.) As it is right now, my app will prompt me to enter a user when I try to access a file in the 'protected' area and the GlassFish server throws an exception when it fails to authenticate. Because it works under Tomcat, I know I have the right information, I just don't know how to format it to get GlassFish to pass it along. Thanks.   • Symfony2 same form, different entities NOT related

    I'm trying to write one form for submitting against MySQL DB, but I can't get it working, I've tried a lot of things (separate forms, create an ->add('foo', new foo()) to a field, and trying to parse plain SQL with a normal HTML form is my only solution, which is obviously not the best. This is my DB structure: As you can see I need to insert the comments textarea to ticketcomments among the user who wrote it, etc. On crmentity the description field. Then on ticketcf the fields that I need to submit from form, are this (because you wont know if I don't tell you because of the field names): tcf.cf594 AS Type, tcf.cf675 AS Suscription, tcf.cf770 AS ID_PRODUCT, tcf.cf746 AS NotificationDate, tcf.cf747 AS ResponseDate, tcf.cf748 AS ResolutionDate, And, of course, every table needs to have the same ticketid id for the submitted form, so we can retrieve it with one simple query. It will be easy to do with plain SQL instead of using DQL and Symfony2 forms, but is not a good way to do it. Also, here's my "Ticket list" query, if you need it to have it more clear...   • .NET 3.5SP1 64-bit memory model vs. 32-bit memory model

    As I understand it, the .NET memory model on a 32-bit machine guarantees 32-bit word writes and reads to be atomic operations but does not provide this guarantee on 64-bit words. I have written a quick tool to demonstrate this effect on a Windows XP 32-bit OS and am getting results consistent with that memory model description. However, I have taken this same tool's executable and run it on a Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit OS and am getting wildly different results. Both the machines are identical specs just with different OSes installed. I would have expected that the .NET memory model would guarantee writes and reads to BOTH 32-bit and 64-bit words to be atomic on a 64-bit OS. I find results completely contrary to BOTH assumptions. 32-bit reads and writes are not demonstrated to be atomic on this OS. Can someone explain to me why this fails on a 64-bit OS?     I get the following error while openning a .xls file in Libreoffice Calc, Ubuntu 12.04 [LibreOffice 3.5.5.2; Build ID: 350m 1 (Build:2)] To overcome this I checked the LibreOffice Security Level to Low under Macro Security (from Tools---- Options--- Security tab. Then I went ahead intalling java by running the following commands from the terminal window (with some tips from various forums) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-java-common libreoffice-math libreoffice-gnome libreoffice-java-common Still I got the BASIC runtime error (as in the title), even after clicking Tools---- Options ---- Java and checking the 'Use a Java runtime environment option' and then clicking on 'Sun Microsystems Inc' under listed JRE environments installed. Even I ran the following commands to install latest Java run time environments from terminal window sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre icedtea-7-plugin But still I get the same Basicruntime error (details as in the title bar). This particular file opens perfectly in Microsoft Excel 2007, in Win XP Professional.

  • Where is my app.config for SSIS?

    Sometimes when working with SSIS you need to add or change settings in the .NET application configuration file, which can be a bit confusing when you are building a SSIS package not an application. First of all lets review a couple of examples where you may need to do this. You are using referencing an assembly in a Script Task that uses Enterprise Library (aka EntLib), so you need to add the relevant configuration sections and settings, perhaps for the logging application block. You are using using Enterprise Library in a custom task or component, and again you need to add the relevant configuration sections and settings. You are using a web service with Microsoft Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 and hosting the proxy in SSIS, in an assembly used by your package, and need to add the configuration sections and settings. You need to change behaviours of the .NET framework which can be influenced by a configuration file, such as the System.Net.Mail default SMTP settings. Perhaps you wish to configure System.Net and the httpWebRequest header for parsing unsafe header (useUnsafeHeaderParsing), which will change the way the HTTP Connection manager behaves. You are consuming a WCF service and wish to specify the endpoint in configuration. There are no doubt plenty more examples but each of these requires us to identify the correct configuration file and and make the relevant changes. There are actually several configuration files, each used by a different execution host depending on how you are working with the SSIS package. The folders we need to look in will actually vary depending on the version of SQL Server as well as the processor architecture, but most are all what we can call the Binn folder. The SQL Server 2005 Binn folder is at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\, compared to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\ for SQL Server 2008. If you are on a 64-bit machine then you will see C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\ for the 32-bit executables and C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\ for 64-bit, so be sure to check all relevant locations. Of course SQL Server 2008 may have a C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\ on a 64-bit machine too. To recap, the version of SQL Server determines if you look in the 90 or 100 sub-folder under SQL Server in Program Files (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\nn\) . If you are running a 64-bit operating system then you will have two instances program files, C:\Program Files (x86)\ for 32-bit and  C:\Program Files\ for 64-bit. You may wish to check both depending on what you are doing, but this is covered more under each section below. There are a total of five specific configuration files that you may need to change, each one is detailed below: DTExec.exe.config DTExec.exe is the standalone command line tool used for executing SSIS packages, and therefore it is an execution host with an app.config file. e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe.config The file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders. DtsDebugHost.exe.config DtsDebugHost.exe is the execution host used by Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) / Visual Studio when executing a package from the designer in debug mode, which is the default behaviour. e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DtsDebugHost.exe.config The file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders. This may surprise some people as Visual Studio is only 32-bit, but thankfully the debugger supports both. This can be set in the project properties, see the Run64BitRuntime property (true or false) in the Debugging pane of the Project Properties. dtshost.exe.config dtshost.exe is the execution host used by what I think of as the built-in features of SQL Server such as SQL Server Agent e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\dtshost.exe.config This file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders devenv.exe.config Something slightly different is devenv.exe which is Visual Studio. This configuration file may also need changing if you need a feature at design-time such as in a Task Editor or Connection Manager editor. Visual Studio 2005 for SQL Server 2005  - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe.config Visual Studio 2008 for SQL Server 2008  - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe.config Visual Studio is only available for 32-bit so on a 64-bit machine you will have to look in C:\Program Files (x86)\ only. DTExecUI.exe.config The DTExec UI tool can also have a configuration file and these cab be found under the Tools folders for SQL Sever as shown below. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\DTExecUI.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\DTExecUI.exe A configuration file may not exist, but if you can find the matching executable you know you are in the right place so can go ahead and add a new file yourself. In summary we have covered the assembly configuration files for all of the standard methods of building and running a SSIS package, but obviously if you are working programmatically you will need to make the relevant modifications to your program’s app.config as well.
