• Application deployment problem

  Hello Everyone, I developed an application using VS 2008 and MS Access2007 and it works fine. Now have to make a setup of it(this is my first project). I gone through many tutorials about deployment, I tried VS 2008 setup and deployment, but after installation it only runs in my machine and not in others..sometimes it shows error(The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine(that machine had both VS2008 and MS Access installed)). I been a week since, i tried what i can and still trying, cant believe that i am strucked here, nothing seems to work. Please help...   I was reading the article Double-checked locking and the Singleton pattern, on how double checked locking is broken, and some related questions here on stackoverflow. I have used this pattern/idiom several times without any issues. Since I have been using Java 5, my first thought was that this has been rectified in Java 5 memory model. However the article says This article refers to the Java Memory Model before it was revised for Java 5.0; statements about memory ordering may no longer be correct. However, the double-checked locking idiom is still broken under the new memory model. I'm wondering if anyone has actually run into this problem in any application and under what conditions.

• PlayDependencyClassLoader does not find application code

  When a third party dependency attempts to load a class defined in a Play application using Class.forName(className, true, Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader()); Play will throw a ClassNotFoundException because the context class loader is of type PlayDependencyClassLoader which apparently only contains classes defined in jar dependencies. Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: eventstore.Commit at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo.classForName(SerializerPojo.java:96) at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo$1.deserialize(SerializerPojo.java:74) at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo$1.deserialize(SerializerPojo.java:39) This only occurs when Play is started with play run. Starting Play with play start loads the class correctly. It would be a shame to sacrifice the class hot-swapping because of this behavior. Is there a known workaround?

• Get UPN or email for logged in user in a .NET web application

  I'm not a .NET developer, and I have a feeling this would be trivial for someone who is: I have a C# web application that makes user of the user credentials of the logged in user. Currently it uses the SID which comes from System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().User.Value I need to get either the users UPN login or email address (as defined in active directory) instead of the SID. GetCurrent() returns an object of type WindowsIdentity; looking in the details for WindowsIdentity Members: MSDN: WindowsIdentity Members I can't see anything that looks like it would give me either the UPN or email in there. How can I pull up that information to use, either by feeding the SID into some other function or calling something different in the first place.

  I need to setup some 301 permanent redirects in the web.config of an ASP.NET MVC application running under IIS. The easiest way is to add a tag similar to the one below to the web.config file: <location path="TheMenu.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="menus/" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> When I go to the site at http://domain.com/TheMenu.aspx it redirects me to http://domain.com/menusxd instead of http://domain.com/menus What would be causing this? Specifically, being able to see who else is working on the document and what they are changing in real time. Something like an embedded etherpad. Are there any good solutions out in the wild? Im sure building something like this would be a significant project.

• Application compiled by Flex Builder 3 does not trace

  I've built a simple application in Flex Builder 3 with some trace() calls. It's an "ActionScript Project", no MXML or AIR involved. I don't run the app from within Eclipse, I just open the generated html file with Firefox. I'm using the Flash Player 10 Debug version. I've correctly set mm.cnf to log trace output, following the official instructions. A flashlog.txt file is generate in the appropriate location. Despite all that, trace output is not shown in the log file. What am I doing wrong? (I suspect it's a compiler option, but I can find no such option in the project options in FlexBuilder) (If I do run the app from Eclipse, by pressing F11, I can see trace output but only inside Eclipse, not in the log file)

• Memory Profiling: How to detect which application/package is consuming too much memory

  Hi, I have a situation here at work where we run a JEE server with several applications deployed on it. Lately, we've been having frequent OutOfMemoryException's. We suspect some of the apps might be behaving badly, maybe leaking, or something. The problem is, we can't really tell which one. We have run some memory profilers (like YourKit), and they're pretty good at telling what classes use the most memory. But they don't show relationships between classes, so that leaves us with a situation like this: We see that there are, say, lots of Strings and int arrays and HashMap entries, but we can't really tell which application or package they come from. Is there a way of knowing where these objects come from, so we can try to pinpoint the packages (or apps) that are allocating the most memory? Thank you in advance.

If anyone do this work then help me to complete my application.

  Is there any way to suppress the default js and css loaded by application.html.erb on a view by view basis? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to manage a global css and js includes configuration when certain views need different js libraries that for some reason seem to be conflicting with one another. For example, I might want jquery 1.3 for one view and 1.4.2 for another. I don't necessarily want to have to have an include for every view (I do want to have a global site-wide default), but I would also like to be able to override those for any view I want. Thanks!

• Application crash when using an NSTimer and pushViewController

  I'm using an NSTimer to implement a 3 seconds splash screen. If a don't use a timer the view it's correctly pushed but if I use the timer for adding a little delay the application crash with a EXC_BAD_ACCESS.   I'm trying to develop a simple application that will read some files, targeted for Windows CE. For this I'm using Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 3. This program(that is for console) will be called like this: /Storage Card/Test coms file.cmss As you can see, file.cmss is the first argument, but on my main I have a condition to show the help(the normal, how to use the program) if the arguments are smaller than 2: if(argc < 2) { showhelp(); return 0; } But when I execute the program on the command-line of Windows CE(using all the necessary arguments) I got the showHelp() content. Then I've checked all the code, but it's entirelly correct. But I think that eVC++ don't use argc and argv[] for arguments, then I want some help on how to determine the arguments on it.

• Verifying the purchaser of an App Store application

  Is there a way for the developer of an App Store application to tie a sale to an individual user/device ID/Apple account? In other words, a method for the developer to double-check that a specific user has legally purchased the software? I haven't been able to find a reliable answer to this yet. I'm not looking for specific code examples, just some sort of idea as to how possible (or difficult) this is. My intent isn't to penalize piracy; it's to be able to provide additional benefits to paid customers. As such, I'm not looking for a way to identify a cracked or pirated version, which I gather has already been solved. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

• Scope of the Pages in a Silverlight application

  I have an app built with the Silverlight Navigation Application Template. I have a main form (e.g. MainPage.xaml) and a bunch of Silverlight Pages, which are swapped in and out of the main content area. In the MainPage.xaml, I have a DispatcherTimer which hits some Uri resources, regardless of which page I am on. Every now and then, it will inexplicably stop firing. I have an inkling that it has to do with the scope of various pages. Can pages inside the MainPage.xaml take away the scope from its parent? Or is this something much simpler?

• Detecting first time login of user into application (Google Appengine)

  My app requires users to login using their google account. I have this set in my App.yamp file: url: /user/.* script: user.py login: required Now when any user tries to access files under /user/secret.py he will need to authenticate via google, which will redirect the user back to /user/secret.py after successful authentication. Now the problem I am facing is when the user is redirected back to the app, I cannot be sure if this is the first time the user has logged in or is it a regular user to my site who has come back again from just the user object which google passes using users.get_current_user() . I thus need to maintain state in the datastore to check if the user already exists or not everytime. If he does not exist i need to create a new entry with other application specific settings. My question is: Is there some easier way to handle this? without having to query the datastore to figure if this is a first time user or a regular one?

• Steaming a non-PCM WAV file to a SilverLight application

  Hi, I would like to allow users to play recorded WAV files that stored on a server back to a Silverlight application as a client to play them. I saw that there is a way to play a WAV file on Silverlight (here), but when i tried to impliment it, i got an error playing the file because it is not in PCM format but encoded. The files that i'm trying to play are encoded with a special encoder, so i thought that the only way is to decode the WAV file on the server and stream it back to the client. The limitation is that the decode process should occur in real time because it is not reasonable to convert all the WAV files that exists. Is it possible to do it? Which streamer can i use? (Windows Media Service can help here?) Does somebody has any experience with such a scenario? Appreciate your help.

When I replace the register declaration with: <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" Namespace="MyAssembly.UserControls" Assembly="MyAssembly"%> I get a null reference exception in the UserControl's Page_Load event (which references an ASP.NET control which is used by the UserControl itself. I find this pretty bizarre, but I've found very little information on how to fix it.

But it is written in ATL COM. So I am planning to work and build the Image viewer as follows: After reading the Image I will scale down to my viewer size, viwer is around 1000x1000. Lets call this Image Data as Display Data. Once displaying this data, I will work only this Display data. For all Image processing operation, I will use this display data and when user choose to save the image, I will apply all the operation to original Image data. My question is, Is is ok to use Display data for showing and initial image processing operations.

  Hi, I developed a simple application for iPAD. I want to test the app how it works on the device. I have paid developer licence, and i have added the device id and created the app id and i have downloaded the provisioning profile using both. The same way how we will build the app for iphone i have done for ipad. i have sent the provisioning profile and .ipa file to my friend to load on to the ipad device(same device which i have added in the developer.apple.com). when he tried to drag n drop the provisioning file on to the device from iTunes it is giving below error. "abc.mobileprovision" was not copied on to the iPAD, because it cannot be palyed on this iPAD I am not able to understand what the exact error is. Can anyone please let me know how to dump the applicatio on to the ipad device?

• How do I change JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES for my application?

  When you call javascript_include_tag :defaults you usually get: prototype.js, effects.js, dragdrop.js, and controls.js. These are stored in a constant in ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper called 'JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES`. My application uses jQuery, so I want to replace the Prototype references with something more useful. I added an initializer with these lines, based on the source code from jRails: ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES = %w{ jquery-1.4.min jquery-ui jquery.cookie } ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::reset_javascript_include_default But when I do this, I get: warning: already initialized constant JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES during startup. What's the correct way of changing this value? In the source code it checks for the constant before setting it, but apparently that happens before it runs the initializer scripts. The Rails 3.0 release will provide much greater flexibility with choice of JS libraries, so I guess this is a problem with an expiration date.

• Occasional InterruptedException when quitting a Swing application

  I recently updated my computer to a more powerful one, with a quad-core hyperthreading processor (i7), thus plenty of real concurrency available. Now I'm occasionally getting the following error when quitting (System.exit(0)) an application (with a Swing GUI) that I'm developing: Exception while removing reference: java.lang.InterruptedException java.lang.InterruptedException at java.lang.Object.wait(Native Method) at java.lang.ref.ReferenceQueue.remove(ReferenceQueue.java:118) at java.lang.ref.ReferenceQueue.remove(ReferenceQueue.java:134) at sun.java2d.Disposer.run(Disposer.java:125) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Well, given that it started to happen with a more concurrency-capable hardware, and it has to do with threads, and it happens occasionally, it's obviously some kind of timing thing. But the problem is that the stack trace is so short. All I have is the listing above. It doesn't include my own code at all, so it's somewhat hard to guess where the bug is. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Any ideas how to start solving it?

• How does rolling back an application level transaction interact with SqlDataAdapter events in ADO.NE

  When utilizing the RowUpdated event in the SqlAdapter class, i'm assuming that it is raised directly following the return of the database interaction that executes the update. If that update is part of an application level transaction (utilizing the SqlTransaction class) which is then rolled back, does this affect or interact at all with the RowUpdated event? Or is the RowUpdated event not raised until after the transaction is committed (this seems unlikely, but i couldn't find documentation)? If RowUpdated has already been raised, and then the transaction is rolled back, any good ideas on how to adjust something that may have been done in RowUpdated that should then, also be rolled back?
