• failed to connect to any given host:port - RoR Error?

  Hi all I'm very new to Ruby on Rails so please go easy! I've uploaded the whole application to the server (Dreamhost) and gone through the steps. But when I try to run it I get the following error: failed to connect to any given host:port (Mongo::ConnectionFailure) I have installed the Mongo gem; but maybe I haven't got it configured correctly? I know you can't use localhost for describing where a Dreamhost mysql database is; might it be something like that? • Adding custom valiadtion to ASP.NET controls

  We're trying to build a simple asp control for some clients where they can just drop in a single block - i.e. <captcha:CaptchaControl ID="CaptchaControl1" runat="server" Server="http://localhost:51947/" /> and have it render the control. The catch is that I can't get this to include custom validation. Right now I'm using the RenderContents function to display the layout of the control itself as well as hook it up the to Javascript. • In Java, send commands to another command-line program

  I am using Java on Windows XP and want to be able to send commands to another program such as telnet. I do not want to simply execute another program. I want to execute it, and then send it a sequence of commands once it's running. • Error Log states that I have MySQL connect error, yet script runs fine

  Hello All, First, thanks for all the help I've received so far from StackOverflow. I've learned much. Once again, I'm posing a rudimentary question that I've searched on, but cannot find the exact answer to. Here or on PHP.net. It's sort of like what this guy asked, but not exactly: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/288603/mysql-throwing-query-error-yet-finishing-query-just-fine-why So, I saw my errorlog ballooning up when I checked my site directory and opened to notice that a bunch of errors have been recorded since I wrote this new Admin area. I know something is obviously awry with my scripting for the error to be thrown, but the weird thing is, the script actually runs through and pulls all the data I need without breaking. The log contains: PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user 'someuser'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 I don't get that because that very line is where I setup my connection... the exact same way I do it everywhere else on the site with no problem. After that error, I have these thrown at the same time [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: A link to the server could not be established in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 16 From what I read in the other guys thread, the problem is the contents of the query maybe? • Creating cookieless application on development machine with asp.net

  I tried posting this on ServerFault with no luck so i am trying here. I am thinking about setting up a new domain to host static content on my website and have it cookieless just like Stackoverflow with their static domain. So before going ahead and buying the domain and setting it up I wanted to test it on my developement machine first under localhost (I have to mention that i am planning on having IIS running on my new domain for the static files). I therefore created a new application under IIS and disabled session state and forms authentication. When my main application needs resources like css, images and js , I use the path to the "static" application where they are hosted. The problem is that when I look at the request and the response for the requested files, they still have the session_id cookie defined as well as the asp.net authentication cookie. Is it at all possible to accomplish what i am trying to do on a development machine or do i have to just go ahead and purchase the new domain which hopefully with make things right? I tried to read about cookieless domain but can't figure out what i might be missing.

• Using a Scala symbol literal results in NoSuchMethod

  I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline. • Sending mail issues. very confusing

Like on my hotmail on the computer i get the html but on my iphone i get the plain one. Why is that? and like that wasn't enough The mail wont deliver to some mails like any .pl email. Now here is where I am thinking that it might be a reverse DNS setup thing on my windows server 2008 issue + some company mails, it becomes spam, i had same issue with hotmail but that was solved when I added the plain. Anybody have had the problem before? I am very thankful for any answer I get.. thanks

These are the details of the error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "WSS_Content_8887ac57951146a290ca134778ddc3f8" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Does anyone have any idea why this error happens? Why does the web service run fine inside Visual Studio 2008, but not when running stand-alone? I checked and in both cases, the username variable has the same value (domain\myusername). Thank you very much.

• Selenium RC: how to capture/handle error?

  Hi, My test uses Selenium to loop through a CSV list of URLs via an HTTP proxy (working script below). As I watch the script run I can see about 10% of the calls produce "Proxy error: 502" ("Bad_Gateway"); however, the errors are not captured by my catch-all "except Exception" clause -- ie: instead of writing 'error' in the appropriate row of the "output.csv", they get passed to the else clause and produce a short piece of html that starts: "Proxy error: 502 Read from server failed: Unknown error." Also, if I collect all the URLs which returned 502s and re-run the script, they all pass, which leads me to believe that this is a sporadic network path issue. Question: Can the script be made to recognize the the 502 errors, sleep a minute, and then retry the URL instead of moving on to the next URL in the list? The only alternative that I can think of is to apply re.search("Proxy error: 502") after "get_html_source" as a way to catch the bad calls. Then, if the RE matches, put the script to sleep for a minute and then retry 'sel.open(row[0]' on the URL which produced the 502. Any advice would be much appreciated. • Nginx not responding to remote IP

  I just installed Nginx listening on 8083 I can get a HTTP response when sending a HTTP request from the local machine. eg: curl -i localhost:8083 However, when I do the same from a remote machine, it just hangs until the ssh times out, or when the browser times out if accessed from the browser. • Help with Cygwin bash file

  Hi, I have a bash file, which I’m trying to run in Cygwin on a Windows 7 platform, but I gives me some odd errors when doing so. The bash file works on my Linux system. The bach file looks like this: for ((r=0; r <10; r++)) netcat localhost 4444 < myfile.file & done wait but I’m getting an error for my for-loop. More precise it writes: ./tuning_test.bsh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `(' '/tuning_test.bsh: line 1: `?for ((r=0; r <10; r++)) I do not understand it because I was sure that I’ve a working bash file on my Linux. I even tried to find a for-loop example from a Linux-bash site and run it but with same error. I’m brand new to Cygwin and doesn’t know if it has some small quirks or some other thing I have to be aware of and I’ve tried to look through the documentation and FAQ on their homepage.   I think this is a pretty basic question, but after Googling around I can't seem to find the answer. What I need is a way to log some custom output with log4j during Spring bean construction. I have a factory class called ResponderFactory (being used as an instance factory in Spring) with a factory method that can throw 2 different types of exception. public CollectorResponder collectorResponder(String inputQueueName) throws ConfigurationException, BrokerConnectionException {} Now, normally I could wrap a call to this method in a try-catch block with 2 catch clauses to handle the logging situations for each of the exceptions. • Best way to pass image to server?

  I have an SL3 application that needs to be able to pass an image to the server, and then the server will generate a PDF file with the image in it, and display it to the user. What I already have in place are the following: (1) Code to convert image to byte array (2) Code to generate PDF file with image The main problem that I am running into is the following: In order to bypass the pop-up blocker, which is a requirement for my application, I am using the following code: var button = new NavigationButton(); button.NavigateUri = new Uri("http://localhost:3616/PrintReport.aspx?ReportIndex=11&ActionType=Get&ReportIdentifier=" + reportIdentifier.ToString() + ""); button.TargetName = "_blank"; button.PerformClick(); Initially, I would pass the image to a WCF web service (as a byte array), and then "navigate" to the ASP.NET page that would display the report. However, if I do this, then I can not use my custom HyperlinkButton class, and, certain browsers, including Safari, will block a new window from opening up. Therefore, it appears that the only option is to use the HyperlinkButton class. What I need to be able to do is to somehow pass the image, as a byte array or some other data type, to the server, such that it can temporarily store the image, even if it is in a server variable, and then immediately retrieve it when I navigate to the PrintReport.aspx page. If I upload the image to an ASP.NET form and then use the HyperlinkButton class to navigate to the PrintReport page, it doesn't work, as the app navigates to the PrintReport page before the system has finished uploading the image. I can't pass it to a web service, as that would require that I navigate to the PrintReport.aspx page in the callback code of the web method that I would be passing the image to, and the HyperlinkButton will not allow that, based on security rules.   I'm having some trouble running a groovy servlet (groovlet) in tomcat that imports a library class. When I don't import anything the groovlet works correctly, but if I do import something that I expect to be on the classpath (I can import the same class successfully in a regular servlet), I see the following error: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy java.lang.RuntimeException: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy at groovy.servlet.GroovyServlet$1.call(GroovyServlet.java:123) ...   I'm using a gmail account to send emails from my website. I'm using the same account to pick up emails which are generated by the contact facility on my site. I'm using the Reply-To field to attempt to make it easier to hit reply and easily get back to people. The message comes up with the 'from' address and ignores the 'reply-to' address. I'm using Seam2.2.0GA with the embeded JBoss to run the unit test, the module needs to call old JBoss server (EJB2, because the vendor locked in JCA has to deploy on old JBoss). it's typical seam test case, and I can't get it connect to JBoss4.0.5GA by using jbossall-client.jar from JBoss4.0.5GA. so far I tested the embeded JBoss can only working with JBoss5.X server. with JBoss4.2.3GA, it report: [testng] java.rmi.MarshalException: Failed to communicate.
