    Hi, I am trying to find out the maximum value for an integer (signed or unsigned) from a MySQL database. Is there a way to pull back this information from the database itself? Are there any built-in constants or functions I can use (either standard SQL or MySQL specific). At http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/numeric-types.html it lists the values - but is there a way for the database to tell me.     Hi, I making a eclipse view that is working with selected elements from other views. Let say I have opened a java file in the editor that has the following fields in it: private String world = " world!" private String hello = "hello" + world; When I select "hello" in the Outline view I'm able to get IFiled selection and I have access to it's properties, but what i need is the true value of the field ("hello world!").   • How do I prevent users from entering a blank value in an Excel sheet?

    I want to restrict users to entering either just 0 or 1 in an Excel 2007 sheet. I use the Data Data Validation dialog to do this, but I'm finding that it doesn't stop them from entering blanks. What I would like is for there to be a prompt when they enter blanks, just like the one that appears when they enter any other non-blank data that is not 0 or 1. I plan to fill the sheet with 0s before applying the validation, so there should not be a problem with erroneous data. Also, I'm open to using VBA to fix this problem.

    have an excel based CSV file with two columns (or rows, Pythonically) that I am working on. What I need to do is to perform some operations so that I can compare the two data entries in each 'row'. To be more precise, one column has constant numbers all the way down, whereas the other column has varying values. So I need to count the number of times the varying column data entry values crosses the constant value on the other column. For example, fro the csv file i have two columns: Varying Column; Constant Column 24 25 26 25 crossed 27 25 26 25 25.5 25 23 25 crossed 26 25 crossed Thus, the varying column data entries have crossed 25 three times. I need to generate a code that can count the number of the crosses. Please do help out, Thanks.

When I hit 'Enter' to send a chat message, the characters indicating a new line are not being correctly interpreted. Here's a basic SYN-ACK between the two of us: His view: me: SYN!him: ACK!   • [as3] Movieclip.width returns higher value than Movieclip stage on Width.

    I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height). Any pointers, to what could be the reasons for the discrepancy in .width values on stage and on run-time? Its breaking the scaling code that follows.

  • How to change the overlapping order of TabItems in WPF TabControl

    I have created vertical TabItems with a Path object. The selected TabItem overlaps the unselected TabItems, this works fine. The overlapping is done by setting a negative margin in the TabItem Template. For the unselected TabItems right now a TabItem is overlapped by the TabItem below. For example in the picture Tab 4 overlaps Tab 3 and Tab 3 overlaps Tab 2. I would like to change the overlapping order for the unselected Tab Items, so that an unselected TabItem overlaps the TabItem below and is overlapped by the TabItem above, e.g. Tab 2 overlaps Tab 3 and Tab 3 overlaps Tab 4. I have tried to set the FlowDirection property of TabPanel, but this doesn't work. How can I achieve this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!     I have a spreadsheet where I have cell within a row that will contain specific text via data validation. So for instance a cell could contain the text "Due in 7 Days", "Past Due", or "Closed". I want the row color to change depending on the text that appears in the cell. So if the text "Past Due" appears in the cell I want that entire row to turn red, if "Due In 7 Days" appears the row should turn yellow, and if "Closed" the row would turn gray. How can I do that?

    I have the following two slider functions which work well and display like so: I have diskAmount and transferAmount stored in global vars, however what I am now trying to figure out is how do I get the sum of the two to initially show as the monthly fee, and then update when either of the two sliders are changed. So in my screenshot above the initial state will be $24.75, and the fee will update if the sliders change. Can anyone point me in the right direction? All instances of MyUserControl are contained in a List and I access them with a foreach. string temp = userControl.InputValue; This is always null. In my MainWindow.xaml I can see the "My Input" in the text box of the user control but I can't ever seem to get it out of there.

  • Easy way to compute how close an auto_increment is to its maximum value?

    So yesterday we had a table that has an auto_increment PK for a smallint that reached its maximum. We had to alter the table on an emergency basis, which is definitely not how we like to roll. Is there an easy way to report on how close each auto_increment field that we use is to its maximum? The best way I can think of is to do a SHOW CREATE TABLE statement, parse out the size of the auto-incremented column, then compare that to the AUTO_INCREMENT value for the table. On the other hand, given that the schema doesn't change very often, should I store information about the columns' maximum values and get the current AUTO_INCREMENT with SHOW TABLE STATUS?

  • Adobe popping out of the browser

    Hi, Im building a web application that displays a xfdf document. When we are testing in adobe 5 and we can't stop adobe opening outside the webpage. The user clicks the report and it should open in the browser but instead it opens in adobe it appears to work in everything but adobe 5. We have previously done this with out any problems. Any ideas?     Hi, I have a tricky XSL problem at the moment. I need to copy the existing XML, copy a certain element (plus its child elements) and modify the value of two child-elements. The modifications are: divide value of the 'value' element by 110 and edit the value of the 'type' element from 'normal' to 'discount'.     I just inherited a project that has code similar to the following (rather simple) example: DECLARE @Demo TABLE ( Quantity INT, Symbol NVARCHAR(10) ) INSERT INTO @Demo (Quantity, Symbol) SELECT 127, N'IBM' My interest is with the N before the string literal. I understand that the prefix N is to specify encoding (in this case, Unicode). But since the select is just for inserting into a field that is clearly already Unicode, wouldn't this value be automatically upcast? I've run the code without the N and it appears to work, but am I missing something that the previous programmer intended? Or was the N an oversight on his/her part? I expect behavior similar to when I pass an int to a decimal field (auto-upcast). Can I get rid of those Ns?

    Hi this must be a very simple solution that has eluded me this last hour. I've tried to build this test function where the return value of the test_cases list should match the values in the test_case_answers list but for some reason, test case 1 and test case 2 fail. When i print the return values for the test cases they return the correct answers, but for some reason test case 1 and test case 2 return False.   • Django Custom Field: Only run to_python() on values from DB?

    How can I ensure that my custom field's *to_python()* method is only called when the data in the field has been loaded from the DB? I'm trying to use a Custom Field to handle the Base64 Encoding/Decoding of a single model property. Everything appeared to be working correctly until I instantiated a new instance of the model and set this property with its plaintext value...at that point, Django tried to decode the field but failed because it was plaintext. The allure of the Custom Field implementation was that I thought I could handle 100% of the encoding/decoding logic there, so that no other part of my code ever needed to know about it. What am I doing wrong?
