• Getting my app to work on my phone

  Hello I wrote an app android sdk version 1.5 using it's built in emulator in eclipse. I created a database outside of eclipse populated it with data and push it to the emulator folder data/data/project name/database and could access it fine from the my app, everything was working great. My final step was to test the apk file on an actual phone. When I did that the program would not work. After looking into it I found that the database file was not being uploaded into the phone. Is there a special way to install the apk file on the actual phone to get the embedded database to work? Or can I assume that since everything worked fine on the sdk 1.5 emulator that everything will work when I upload it to the market. Thanks in advance.

  I am currently building my own CMS for various reasons that could take a long to explain... However i am looking for a dynamic solution to create templates for pages within the CMS and all areas must be editable via the administration area, maybe large text areas broken into multiple areas, text and image area on a page etc. Following on from the above i would like to create the following: Create a new page (selecting a pre-defined template like below) http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9872/nestedpages.png and then upon editing the page it would have created as many text editors required for each editable region or a file upload control for an image area for example. i am thinking of using nested masterpages for the design elements, just unsure the best-practice way to achieve the above (db structure etc) I somehow hope this provides enough information but are happy to answer any questions you may have. • WebDav alternatives? Win server 2003, win 7.

  I have an internal web page that I have an iframe with the source pointing to a webdav folder. This allows the user to drag and drop a number of files on the iframe window which a button on the main page then kicks off a server side task to process the files. I am looking for an alternative that will allow me to drag a group of files and drop them onto a target area of a web page which will then upload them to the web server. Ideally this would be in ASP.Net 2,3 or 4. Any suggestions? TIA J

• javascript not loading after output of PHP file_get_contents() string

  I have the following structure: -uploadpage.html -index.php -resources -jquery.1.4.2.min.js On my index.php, I get the contents then output uploadpage.html through this code: $output = file_get_contents("uploadpage.html"); echo $output; My upload.html has the javascript at the bottom: <script type="text/javscript" src="./resources/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function() { callSomething(); } ); function callSomething() {return true;} </script> However this results in an error "$ is not defined" which means that the jquery js file is not loaded. Any ideas?

  hi, I develop a web application it is working fine in local. When i upload the site in online through CuteFTP it is showing the error like this... Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. please help me i place the but even though it is not working it is giving same error.   How do I sign an APK with more than one certificate, so that I can do this when I publish to the Android Market: Version 1.0 = Signed with Certificate A Version 2.0 = Signed with Certificate A & B Version 3.0 = Signed with Certificate B The Android Market does give me some hope but I am not sure what to make of it, when I upload with a different sign certificate it gives me this message: "The apk must be signed with at least one certificate in common with the previous version." Motive: I have published an app on the market using the Android Signing Tool as part of MotoDev Studio for android. The problem is that it handles the keys itself and there is no way (documented) to get them. I want to change it to use a keystore and certificate that I have more control of and can use even if I don't use MotoDev Studio anymore. Also it seems that MotoDev Studio will lock you out of new features such as shared libraries.

• Robust way to display an image with one fixed dimension

  Lets say that we have an image uploaded by the user, the upload script limits the mb but not the image size (so could be any proportion, 600X200,200X350, and so...). Im already showing this image in one part on my site using the twitter bootstrap image handler written on css, thats good for a profile picture, the problem is that now I want that image to be a cover (like facebook/twitter cover image), my site is responsive so the width of the cover is 900px or 100% if the screen resolution is less than 900px wide. The height is always fixed to 200px. So I know there is a way to control the correct image display using CSS (maybe with jquery too) but Im not a front-end dev, Im a php dev and I dont want to use server side scripts for doing this. So im looking for suggestions or pieces of codes (css, javascript) to start with, I belive that it have to be an already made solution for this, but I dont find any on google. Thanks for any advice!

• IE cannot download file with unicode pathname

  I have a web-app that allows users to upload and download image files by pressing buttons on a web page. A user of this page is reporting that IE 7 and 8 fail to download files when the files have Unicode pathnames. IE prompts the user with a dialog stating: "Internet explorer cannot download (file) at (webserver).". Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce the problem using these versions on my machine. My question is, what could cause this, and how can I prevent it from happening? I have read about problems with cache control (I currently have it set to no-cache); however, I am not using HTTP-S, and the problem only occurs with file-names containing Unicode characters.

  Hi Guys I am finding the solution for my application. I create an iphone application have 3 screen: First screen not contain any tab bar. Second screen have 2 tab bar item. Third screen have 3 tab bar item. http://c.upanh.com/upload/7/719/L50.11932623_1_1.jpg If i create a UITabBarController - the tab bar will be appeared from first screen. So I have to hide tab bar in first screen. But second and third screen have different tab bar - not good idea. Do you have solution for this issue, please help me. Thank you !!!

• Get single Wordpress gallery image with given title

  I am having users of a Wordpress blog upload a single image to different post's galleries with the name "banner". Basically, every post will have an image named "banner" uploaded to its gallery and this image needs to be displayed on the post's page outside of the article content. So, how can I get the URL to display an image in a post's single.php template? Can I iterate through the images of a given post's gallery and find the one with the correct title somehow? I've searched through the Wordpress codex docs and haven't found anything on a way to do this, just information on displaying galleries of photos. Note that I'm already using Wordpress's post thumbnail feature for something else. Thanks!

  I'm trying to set up a batch file to automatically deploy a php app to a web server. Basically, what I want is an entirely automated process: I would just give it a revision number from the repository and it would then export the files, upload via ftp and then update deployment info at the repo host (codebase). However, I'm starting from scratch here. How would I set up a batch file to accept a variable when it was run? For example, the command myfile.bat /revision 42 should deploy revision 42 to my server. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Specifically, I'm looking for a project structure that affords the following: Hierarchical (directory) structure of templates and partial templates Allow me to use HTML tools/editors on my templates (embedding template text in xxx.go files makes this difficult) Automatic reload of template text when on dev server Potential stumbling blocks are: template.ParseGlob() will not traverse recursively. For performance reasons it has been recommended not to upload your templates as raw text files (because those text files reside on different servers than executing code). Please note that I am not looking for a tutorial/examples of the use of the template package. This is more of an app structure question.   My django app parses some files uploaded by the user.It is possible that the file uploaded by the user may remain in the server for a long time ,without it being parsed by the app.This can increase in size if a lot of users upload a lot of files. • How do I split the output from mysqldump into smaller files?

  I need to move entire tables from one MySQL database to another. I don't have full access to the second one, only phpMyAdmin access. I can only upload (compressed) sql files smaller than 2MB. But the compressed output from a mysqldump of the first database's tables is larger than 10MB. Is there a way to split the output from mysqldump into smaller files? I cannot use split(1) since I cannot cat(1) the files back on the remote server. Or is there another solution I have missed? Edit The --extended-insert=FALSE option to mysqldump suggested by the first poster yields a .sql file that can then be split into importable files, provided that split(1) is called with a suitable --lines option. By trial and error I found that bzip2 compresses the .sql files by a factor of 20, so I needed to figure out how many lines of sql code correspond roughly to 40MB.

  I have been trying to find a better command line tool for duplicating buckets than s3cmd. s3cmd can duplicate buckets without having to download and upload each file. The command I normally run to duplicate buckets using s3cmd is: s3cmd cp -r --acl-public s3://bucket1 s3://bucket2 This works, but it is very slow as copies each file via the API one at a time. If s3cmd could run in parallel mode, I'd be very happy. Are there other options available as a command line tools or code that people use to duplicate buckets that are faster than s3cmd?

  I have a linux server, and I am about to upload a classifieds website to it. The website is php based. That means php code adds/removes classifieds, with the help of the users offcourse. The php-code then adds/removes a classified to a database index called Solr (like MySql). Problem is that anybody can currently access the database, but I only want the website to access the database (solr). Solr is on port 8983 as standard btw. My Q is, if I add a rule in my firewall (iptables), to only allow connections coming from the servers IP to the Solr port nr, would this solve my issue? Thanks

  I'm creating an app which connects to server and sends some text. If network (both wifi or 3g) is there, it will immediately send the text to server. But if there is no network, it keeps on polling for server connection every 5 minutes. All this part is working fine. But when using iPhone 4 device, i want the app to check for server connection even when app goes into background. So, when app goes to background and when network comes back, it must be able to send the text to server. How can I achieve it? I've seen some apps where they say that the app will upload photos to server even in background. How will they do it?
