• why can't a static member be reached through an instance name?

  say I have: class Test { public static int Hello = 5; } This obviously works: int j = Test.Hello; But why should this not work? Test test = new Test(); int j = test.Hello; The instance could not have a member equally named, so I don't see how this could be ambiguous or unresolvable for a compiler. Anyone any idea why this is?

• PL/SQL profiler missing data

  We are using pl/sql profiler to collect metrics. We noticed that on one of the environment the plsql_profiler_runs table is populated with the total execution time but the finer details that gets collected in the table plsql_profiler_data is missing. Any idea why this would be happening? We do use dbms_profiler.flush_data() before stopping the profiler and have seen this work fine in another environment.

  Hey, I'm building view hierarchies programmatically, without using a nib, for the master and the detail views in the UISplitViewController. My problem is that I do not know how large those views are. Well, of course, I know their hard-coded values... But I want to be a good citizen and not use hard-coded values and instead query them.   hi when I append jquery datepicker to my asp textbox, by clicking on it, my browser auto shows the history of the dates i typed in a dropdownlist. Can I prevent this? Set textbox to readonly isn't a good idea because asp.net doesn't read the values from read only fields in code behind. any other ideas? thank you and best regards. marc

  I used message box as seperate dialog instead of sheets for mac OS, now i m working on it to spawn a sheet as message box instead of seperate one. I have tried setting the message box as a modal one: (messagebox.setWindowModality(QtCore.Qt.WindoModal)) and setting message box, parent dialog window flags as sheet (parentDialog.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet) messagebox.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet)) But the above commands are not working to create a sheet instead of seperate dialog. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve?

  Hi, I am using xdebug plugin for vim. After making few changes i was able to run debugger but not able to set breakpoints. So, I enabled xdebug.remote_log and below is the log statements corresponding to setting breakpoint. <- breakpoint_set -i 5 -t line -f file:///C:\htdocs\testLocal.php -n 36 - Its issuing request to debugger in proper format only but no idea why debugger is returning "command is not avilable". Please let me know if anything is wrong.

TextBox has KeyDown event handler, the idea behind this is to allow user to press up and down keys to scroll inside ListBox while focus is on TextBox. When user presses "down key" several times, selected element becomes last visible element on screen. If user has reached bottom of visible list element on screen, I want him to see next element after selected element as well.
