  • how to determine base of a number?

    Given a integer number and its reresentation in some arbitrary number system. The purpose is to find the base of the number system. For example, number is 10 and representation is 000010, then the base should be 10. Another example: number 21 representation is 0010101 then base is 2. One more example is: number is 6 and representation os 10100 then base is sqrt(2). Does anyone have any idea how to solve such problem?

  • No postback on any button click on ASP.NET 4.0 application

    The weird thing is If there is a javascript onClick() on a button, postback works otherwise, there is no postback. This was working very recently. I am not sure what recent changes made to the application made this happening throughout the site. The solution suggested by this link does not work as well (that link is applicable to .NET 1.1 though). Any idea whats going on?

I frequently need the code to perform some actions with code (e.g. grep, svn command etc.). I.e. we do not want to duplicate variables so each process will be able to read them. Additionally, DB solution is no good, as we do not want to be dependent on DB for something like configuration. Before I got request for usage of brackets, I limited usage of operators to avoid ambiguous situations. So only ANDs and NOTs or only ORs and saved those in this manner: operators id | name 1 | AND 2 | OR 3 | NOT keywords id | keyword 1 | cat 2 | dog 3 | firefly expressions id | operator | keywordId 1 | 0 | 1 1 | 1 | 2 1 | 3 | 3 which was: cat AND dog NOT firefly But now, I'm really puzzled...

    Hello ... I created a table using ER/STudio 8.0.3 ... The table has a serial pk (SERIAL/INTEGER in ER/Studio)... But the ER/Studio Physical Model generated convert the Serial to Integer... And The generated table in database has a integer pk, without auto-increment functionality... Any idea? Table generated : CREATE TABLE test ( id integer NOT NULL ) Should be : CREATE TABLE test ( id serial NOT NULL )

    I used message box as seperate dialog instead of sheets for mac OS, now i m working on it to spawn a sheet as message box instead of seperate one. I have tried setting the message box as a modal one: (messagebox.setWindowModality(QtCore.Qt.WindoModal)) and setting message box, parent dialog window flags as sheet (parentDialog.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet) messagebox.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet)) But the above commands are not working to create a sheet instead of seperate dialog. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve?

    As I understand it, C# passes parameters into methods by reference. In vb.net, you can specify this with ByVal and ByRef. The default is ByVal. Is this for compatibility with vb6, or is it just random? Also, how can I specify what to use in C#? I kind of like the idea of passing parameters by value.
