  • Get location of object when animation is complete in android

    Is there a way to find out the final location of my animated "object" after the animation? Let's say I am animating an ImageView with location in parent as (0,0 - 20,20) using TranslateAnimation and ScaleAnimation over 1 second with setFillAfter(true). How to I find the final location of this "object" (since the View location itself does not move)? I need to continue the animation from this point based on an user input.

  • Sliding Response after a Point-Square Collision

    In general terms and pseudo-code, what would be the best way to have a collision response of sliding along a wall if the wall is actually just a part of an entire square that a point is colliding into? The collision test method used is a test to see if the point lies in the square. Should I divide the square into four lines and just calculate the shortest distance to the line and then move the point back that distance?If so, then how can I determine which edge of the square the point is closest to after collision?

  • UIPickerView didSelectRow delay

    Hello all, I have a UIPickerView implemented in one of my pages that depends on the didSelectRow delegate method. An odd behavior I have noticed is when the user moves a wheel and leaves it between selections, then the wheel will move very slowly to the closest selection. The didSelectRow event will not fire until this is complete, sometimes 3 seconds later. Is there a way to speed this up, or detect when the wheel is being moved, so I can freeze my interface during this time?

    This code doesn't work, but hopefully you'll get what I'm trying to achieve here. I've got a Money class, which I've taken from http://www.noticeablydifferent.com/CodeSamples/Money.aspx, and extended it a little to include currency conversion. The implementation for the actual conversion rate could be different in each project, so I decided to move the actual method for retrieving a conversion rate (GetCurrencyConversionRate) into a derived class, but the ConvertTo method contains code that would work for any implementation assuming the derived class has overriden GetCurrencyConversionRate so it made sense to me to keep it in the parent class? So what I'm trying to do is get an instance of SubMoney, and be able to call the .ConvertTo() method, which would in turn use the overriden GetCurrencyConversionRate, and return a new instance of SubMoney. The problem is, I'm not really understanding some concepts of polymorphism and inheritance yet, so not quite sure what I'm trying to do is even possible in the way I think it is, as what is currently happening is that I end up with an Exception where it has used the base GetCurrencyConversionRate method instead of the derived one.   • Is there an Emacs-analog for the VI '.' command to repeat-last-typed-text

    I've used emacs for decades and always wondered, but kept on coding, if there was a way to type in something, them move the cursor and insert the same text, like the VI . command. Instead what I do is to type the text, set the mark, backup, copy the region, go to the next spot (often just C-n, down one line) and then pre-arg yank, C-u C-y. It's the overhead of set mark, backup and copy region that makes me just go ahead and retype the thing.

Now I want to use two keystrokes, left arrow and up arrow together simultaneously, for north east movement, how can I do it? I want things like "if-on-enemy-territory" and "if-sense-target" for if statements and "go-home" or "move-randomly" or "shoot" for terminals.
