• How to print 4 index cards on a single A4 sheet in Word 2003

  I have an index card designed in Word. It's fairly complicated with graphics, borders and background. The page layout has been set to landscape and with size set to 4x6. How can I print this, 4x per A4 landscape sheet? I cannot for the life of me work it out. The printer always seems to do a single card per A4 sheet, wasting 3/4 of the page. "Pages 1,1,1,1" will result in 4 sheets being printed. What am I doing wrong?

  I have an iFrame like so: <iframe width="100%" frameborder="0" height="470" allowtransparency="true" name="productframe" id="productframe" style="border-bottom:1px solid #eee"></iframe> The iframe contains several line items drawn from a sql server db, and I can check any of the checkboxes I want to perform a task with - in this case delete them. I have a button in the parent document that says "Delete selected", and I'd like to be able to click this button and populate a hidden field in my parent page with the values of the selected checkboxes in the child iframe. My checkboxes look like this: <input id="Checkbox1" type="checkbox" value="47" title="Select this row" name="selectItem"/> I have an instance of jquery on my parent page so I can make use of jquery selectors, I just have no clue as to the syntax needed to do this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me on this.

• test if master dns has trasnfered copt to slave

  Hello, I setup my master and slave using freebsd. im currently running the Bind 9.X version, so far everything is working successfully. Just one small problem. I cant get the master copy of my dns to transfer it to the slave server. i included transfer-allow {192.168.1.111;}; // this is the slave servers ip i ran the rndc reload command to check but i dont see the copy in the /etc/named/master/? Any help would be necessary and if you like the layout of my dns, I can provide that too.

• Problems with row height in table with expand /collapse in IE

  I have ten rows in my table. All the even rows are hidden by default. The odd rows have a 'plus' icon in the first cell. The plus to be clicked to see the next even row in the table. Clicking the icon again will hide the row again. I do this with simple jquery hide and show methods. The problem with this in IE is whenever I expand and a row and then close it, the border of the row which was expanded stays in the page itself and does not clear. This makes the pages look awkward in IE. I don't face this issue in FF. My friend here suspects this has something to do with the cell height. Im not sure if that is so. So please help me fix this. • How to check if a server runs in pressing mode

  Hi there, Layout: i have at customer side a server (win2003 R2 SP2 standard edition 32-bit) with a sql-server 2005 and some databases. This system starts with the /3GB-Switch. The system reports 3.25 GB RAM and taskmanager reports the process of sqlserver.exe with 2758255 K as the process with the highest consumption. The OS separates RAM for applications and for itself, normaly 50:50. But here we have the /3GB-Switch aktivated and i think the part for the applications is more than 50% of RAM. Knowledge (or better not knowledge): Somebody told me that if the OS runs out of memory within his part of RAM, the server runs into pressing mode. Questions: What is this pressing mode? Is pressing mode possible at all in this szenario? What should be done to get more performance out of this sql-server, beside optimizing the database and all this stuff.

• CSS float column extending over footer

  Hi, I am having a problem with my CSS whereby the right hand column in a 2 column layout is extending beyond the footer. I have tried playing with the clear: both; property but I cannot get it to work.. the second column has the id column2 both columns use the class column. • Ubuntu dual boot and grub error 18

  I've attempted to install 9.04 on an older toshiba laptop with a new 300GB drive and am getting the dreaded Grub error 18 that indicates that grub is looking beyond the bios readable area of the HD and failing. I just let ubuntu roll with its default selections when installing and ended up with this: Drive layout /dev/sda1 -ntfs 128GB -boot /dev/sda2 -extended 170GB -lba /dev/sda5 -ntfs 167.59GB /dev/sda6 -ext3 2.33GB /dev/sda7 -linux-swap 172MB I'd like make the system dual bootable without having to reinstall windows (real pain since I would have to go through an obstructionist IT dept). I know I can make windows bootable with a rescue disk and fixmbr but is there something I can do to make it dual bootable using the ubuntu livecd? Alternately, what should I have done at the partition stage of ubuntu installation to avoid this?

  I'm getting the ball rolling on puppet for my environment - and I'd like to have a conditional file resource based on whether or not the module itself contains a file based on a naming convention. So visually, assume a module named 'mysql' and it's layout: mysql/ /files /etc/ my.cnf my.hostname1.cnf my.hostname2.cnf /manifests init.pp ... • Solaris x86: Non working keys on keyboard (<, >, #, |)

  Hello everyone, I have a new installation of Solaris 10 10/09 on x86 hardware. The attached keyboard has a normal German layout. The system is configured accordingly by 'kbd -s'. The generic keys (letter, number, umlaut) work fine. Unfortunately some keys like <, , | or # do not. They produce no output on the text console at all. I tried PS/2 and USB keyboards. I cannot test it under X11 as it is currently not working. Thanks.

• How to type accented characters in Ubuntu 10.04 with an Apple Aluminum Keyboard

  I installed the latest Ubuntu 10.04 and I used to have the Command, Option or Right-Ctrl keys as compose keys to write accented characters. But I find that under Ubuntu 10.04, the Compose Key is not working, even if I specify the proper Apple Keyboard. Since I cannot work with other keyboard layouts than the plain USA one along with compose keys (I never learned, and I hate, the French layout), this about my only way to input accented characters. I still have to try it with a regular keyboard to see whether there is a difference. Thanks :-)

• Are Java GUIs always slow to update or is it just me?

  I've just started making my first GUI application in Java and I decided to use the NetBeans IDE to do it. I think its working fine so far, except for one problem; it seems to be slow updating the content of a window. Even in very simple windows with few controls I find that when - for example - closing or resizing a window, I get the normal window border working properly but the inside is completely see through for a second. It's not the biggest deal in the world, I just find it mildly annoying.
