• How to report abuse to website hosting company (GoDaddy) [closed]

  I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask such a question... Let's say that a website posted a picture of me, without my consent, and I want it to be removed (it's something private, could compromise my career if it's seen by someone that shouldn't). I sent them an email asking nicely that they should remove it, but they didn't respond and the picture is still there. Using 'Whois' I found that the website is hosted by GoDaddy. Is there a way (an email address, for ex.) to report to GoDaddy that one of the sites they're hosting does something illegal and to force them to remove the photo? I searched the site and found nothing about such a thing. Thnaks in advance!

• Postfix smarthost with diffent relayhosts and sender dependant authentication

  I've setup postfix as smarthost with different relayhosts and sender dependant authentication. Everything works ok, but I have a performance question. Is it better to send all the email corresponding to a domain through only one account? I mean, now I'm sending each message authenticating to the relay host with the sender credentials. Example: If I have 5 email accounts and I send 10 simultaneous messages from each account, How many times is postfix login to the relay host if I have sender dependant authentication? 5 times? once for each sender 50 times? once for each message If I send all the messages corresponding to one realy host through one account, how many times does postfix login to the relay host? only once? • Shell Script to Start Mysql Server if not running

  I have written a shell script to start mysql server & send a mail to admin user if it's restarted via shell script. What i am facing an issue if I run this shell script on terminal it's work perfectly & If same script runs via cronjob it's only sending the mail to the user & problem remains same. Is this problem relates to permission & how can i resolve it. • Install Mozilla Thunderbird on NAS [on hold]

  I have a small office with 3 computers running Linux Ubuntu. All the data are stored in a NAS drive (WD MyBook Live). I would like to - somehow - be able to access the email archives as well from each of these computers. For now, I don't really care if it would be possible for each user to access the email archives simultaneously (although that would be ideal). I have read about Portable Thunderbird over Wine as well as installing IMAP on the NAS drive. However, not only I haven't found a complete guide on how to do that but I am also not sure whether either of these solutions would work for me anyway.

• Keep IMAP messages locally when deleted remotely

  I use my email from my phone and my computer via IMAP. I want to set something up so that if I delete a message via my phone, my computer will still keep the message locally. For example, assume I leave my computer on, with a synchronize interval of 5 minutes. I want to be able to send something from my phone, wait 5 minutes to be sure my computer has downloaded the item from the Sent folder, then delete it from the IMAP sent folder via my phone, but have the computer at home keep it's copy. Is this possible with any readily available email clients out there? I have Thunderbird and Outlook at the moment, but would be willing to learn a new interface for this feature. How can I accomplish this?

• Exchange 2010 allows outside access to network files

  One of our users discovered by accident he could access our network files from his smartphone while at home. No VPN needed. He was sent an email with an internal link to a network share on his android. When he opened the email and clicked on the link, he could browse our files while at home. Looking at the access logs, the connection to the share and files he accessed came from our mail server (Exchange 2010). We have no sharepoint servers running at all, and certainly not on the Exchange server. What is this function/feature called, and is it possible to turn this function/feature off? Should I turn this off?

• Open mail-links with gmail in Chrome 9

  it happens quite often, that I click a link over a persons name, just to see that it launches the default mail client of my system. I thought it would be a normal link, but it was a "mailto:"-link. I would like Chrome to start gmail, not my default email client. For Firefox, I had only to paste this in the URL-Bar: javascript:window.navigator.registerProtocolHandler("mailto","https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s","GMail") Unfortunately, it doesn't work in Chrome 9. I have found this tutorial for Ubuntu, but I would like a solution in Chome. If it is only in Chrome, I can sync the settings. • Send emails in a non-interactive way in OS X

  I am using Mail.app in OS X 10.7. In a text file I have a list with 500 different email addresses, extracted from my address book, each one in a different line. I would like to send some christmas. So I prepared a text template and I would like to send same text in an email to each recipient, just to each one. So I wonder if using some scripting this could be done in a non-interactive way in OS X. In Linux I think this could be done using "mutt".

• Thunderbird 3.0 - how to prevent new message indicator from clearing?

  I just installed Thunderbird 3.0 and there are a few things driving me batty. When new email is delivered it has a faint star to the left of the subject (this is different than the new star column thing). In the old days (i.e. last week) the new message indicator wouldn't go away until I read the message or left the folder and returned. Now, as soon as I do anything with any email message, all new message indicators are cleared. How can I go back to the old behavior?

• Is it safe to disable clamd?

  Clamd is taking up about 5% of my memory (2GB) on my dedicated server and I'm wondering if I can disable it without any security risks. The server just hosts a few of my own websites. For the most part, email received and sent is done through gmail (which connects to my pop3 accounts). The only other email use case is where one of my websites parses all emails and grabs attached images and the subject line. Would there be any security / risks of virus infection if I disable clamd?

• Checking that tasks are executed

  I'm not sure how to explain this. Once one starts having dozens or hundres of servers, each running some sort of periodic jobs (mostly from cron), there is a problem of making sure (or as sure as possible) that these tasks are actually ran. I mean, I get an email if a job fails fails, and no mail if it succeeds, but also no mail if it doesn't run for whatever reason. Sure, I could change them and have them send a "successfully ran" email, only to be flooded by mails that most of the time I don't want to see. Basically, I want to be notified only if: a task ran and failed a task didn't run at the expected time. Is there a way to do this?

• Postfix + LDAP + Recipient Delimiter

  I'm trying to get my Postfix and LDAP-backend to accept recipent delimiters (aka address extensions). The rest of the mail system is working fine, but when an email is received with an extension (e.g. [email protected]), it tries to look up "coops+test" against the LDAP service and fails. Obviously this is wrong, and it should strip out the "+test" part. In my postfix config the string being passed to the LDAP service is "%s", per an example line below: accounts_query_filter = (&(objectClass=MailAccount)(mail=%s)(accountActive=TRUE)(delete=FALSE)) Is there a postfix variable which represents the email account minus the extension? I've found a similar post here, but no actual solution.

• Parsing flat files using SSIS : SSIS Nugget

  Often when using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) you will find there is more than one way of accomplishing a task and that the most obvious method of doing so might not be the optimal one. In the video below I demonstrate this by way of an experiment using SSIS’s Flat File Source component; I show different ways that you can pull data from a flat file into the SSIS dataflow and also how the nature of the data itself can influence your choice as to how this task should be accomplished. • ASP.NET MVC: Using jQuery context menu with tables

  I needed to add context menus to some tables of my intranet application. After trying some components I found one that does everything I need and has no overhead. In this posting I will show you how to use jQuery context menu plug-in and how to attach it to tables. I found context menu plug-in by Chris Domigan and it was very easy to integrate to my application (when comparing some other plug-ins that work only on demo pages and in simple scenarios). Thanks, Chris, for great work! Now let’s use this context menu plug-in with table. Before we go on let’s see what we are trying to achieve. The following screenshot fragment shows simple context menu that we want to attach to our table. And when we click some menu option then something should happen too. :) Installing context menu plug-in Download plug-in (if download link is broken then open demo page and I think you know how to get plug-in from there). Copy jquery.contextmenu.js to your scripts folder. Include it in your masterpage or in the page where you plan to use context menus. Make sure plug-in is included correctly (use Firebug or some other tool you like). Save the page. Defining context menu Now let’s define context menu. Take a look at bindings. We gave ID to table cells because it is carried also to bound events. We can use also more complex ID-s if we have more than one table with context menus on our form. Now we are done. Save all files, compile solution, run it and try out how context menu works. Conclusion We saw than using jQuery with context menu component allows us easily create powerful context menus for our user interfaces. Context menu was very easy to define. We were also able to attach context menu to table and use ID of current row entity also in events of context menu. To achieve this we needed only some minor modifications in view and couple of lines of JavaScript.

  Here is a bit of disappointing news for Apple fan boys. Steve Jobs is again going on medical leave as he wants to concentrate on his health for sometime. In an email to the employees of Apple Steve said, At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health..I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011   In the mail, Steve also said that plans for the product releases scheduled in 2011 will not be affected. This means as rumoured iPad 2 In April, iPhone 5 In June With New Hardware. There is not much information on the medical complications Steve is facing now, but many are thinking  its linked to the liver transplant he had in 2009. What ever may be reason, we wish for this speedy recovery.
