  • Is it possible to trace someone using Google during an online exam?

    I happen to be a professor at a reputed college. I want to design an online exam for over 1000 students via around 50 computers right after the vacation ends. Now the problem is that I have heard that many students use Google on a different tab to find answers when no invigilator is around. I want to know if there is a way to backtrace it after the exams via some kind of history or any other possible way. In our university there is a standard system. I am not good with computers but I will try to explain. Each computer uses mozilla to connect to a server centrally located via an IP. The students open it and enter a unique ID and password to start the exams. Many questions are jumbled and different groups of students give exam in a different time slot. Is there any way to trace it since I want to set an example for students so they won't cheat and give exams in an honest way. Additional details: Since the number of computers are less than the number of students, more than 10 students are going to use a single computer on a single day over a period of 10 hours. After this, if I check the history (and let's say someone even forgot to delete the history and I see it), will I able to figure out who among the 10 has done it? Moreover, is it even practical and feasible?

    I have a canvas element defined statically in the html with a width and height. If I attempt to use JavaScript to resize it dynamically (setting a new width and height - either on the attributes of the canvas or via the style properties) I get the following error in Firefox: uncaught exception: [Exception...   • *.do files not opening in my IE7

    I have written a struts application. When i open the application in my IE7 browser, it doesn't open the .do files, instead IE7 displayes the "FIND SAVE or CANCEL" dialog box. Its like IE7 doesn't recognise the format. But it works well with Firefox. Could anyone clarify why this happens with IE7 ?

  • CakePHP 1.3.0 Cookie value not encrypting

    I noticed in Firefox when viewing the cookies that the values I am saving are not encrypted. The CakePHP Book states that values are encrypted by default on write(). I can't seem to find any gotchas in the doc Anyone else experience this problem? I am sure I am missing something.. Would it matter that the value being set is a integer?

    When I try to upload a huge file size (approx 2GB), the server cpu usage goes really high. What should I do to fix this? I just use standard html form and php, for file upload. In IE7 and IE8 however, the results are: 1 2 3 5 6 4 7 [Note: I don't want to float anything to the right because I want the fields on my form to left-align correctly, without a giant space in-between the floated fields to account for the parent container's width.] Apparently I need a full clear, and can probably add an empty list-item element to the list to force clearing, but that seems like a dumb solution and sort of defeats the purpose. Any ideas? I've spent a few hours reading and trying different options without success.

    I have two computers that are the same at home except I have installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my main computer along with the 2010 Outlook (Beta). I have issues when I log into a website that uses pop up calendars to select the date. I pasted it below. I checked my other computer and it is fine.     Hi Folks, I'm curious what would be the best practice to extend the Date constructor. The problem I'm facing is, that the Internet Explorer (< 7+8) can't parse a date like new Date('2010-05-11'); I have to admit that this is not a standard method to parse, anyways FireFox and Chrome perform well on that kind of date string. Now I'm wondering, should I just split/parse/rebuild the string before calling new Date() or is there a more elegant solution ?
