  • Zend Framework Internet Explorer images won't display

    I am using Zend Framework and it works fine in Firefox/Safari. In IE I have a problem with images not loading. Say I have an image in my public folder and I have this in my page: <img src="/photos/category/img.jpg" /> Well that works, except when I'm at a URL with a controller like http://www.example.com/controller/action I can see why, but I want a good solution to properly creating these img src links that works across browsers.

    I got an IFrame, in the onload event i set the height of the frame: function resizeFrame() { $("#iframeID").height($("#iframeID").contents().find("body").outerHeight(true)); } Problem is: When the content of the frame is increasing without a postback (javascript or Async Postback with Ajax), a scrollbar appears. I found a solution for Firefox: document.getElementById("iframeID").contentWindow.addEventListener("overflow", resizeFrame, false); But i can't find a solution for IE 7+8 Anyone got an idea?

    How do I get in Internet Explorer values equivalent to: window.outerWidth and window.outerHeight in Firefox ? I've seen some "solution": window.screenLeft and window.screenTop but it is not correct. These properties give inner dimensions. I resize a window and I need values to use with window.resizeTo() later, to restore original size after.

  • Shortcuts that make using Windows easier? [closed]

    Over the years I have found out a good bit of shortcuts, all of which make using Windows that much faster and easier. I was wondering if I had missed any important ones, or ones that just saved any time. I tried to keep these relative to Windows only, as programs such as Mozilla, Photoshop, etc. bring in hundreds of other shortcuts, which do not apply to all users. These are the current ones I know: For the mouse: Scroll wheel - opens a link in IE into a new tab - closes a specific tab in IE when closed on Right click-n-drag - nifty menu to make a copy of a file or create a shortcut For the keyboard: Cntrl + Alt + Del - need this be explained? WinKey + R - opens 'Run..' WinKey + D - shows the desktop WinKey + E - opens 'My Computer' WinKey + F - opens 'Find..' WinKey + Tab - cool way to switch inbetween windows WinKey + L - locks the computer Alt + Tab - switches windows with a simple interface Alt + F4 - closes windows Alt + F - opens 'File' (Handy for things like IE if you have the menubar disabled) Cntrl + F - find text on current document Cntrl + W - closes a window, or current active tab in IE (or IE itself if only one tab) Cntrl + C - copies selected text / image Cntrl + V - pastes selected text / image So does anyone know of any more shortcuts that just make life easier? I would be much appreciative of any, and I am sure that some other users would like to know some too =]

  • CSS Doozie: Replacing BG Image on SELECT dropdown

    I need to be able to change the background-image property of a SELECT drop-down using JavaScript/CSS. We have been able to accomplish this in Firefox, but it doesn't appear to be supported at all in IE. From what I've read, IE won't support this. But I'm wondering if there's anything else I could try. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

  • Splitting a file before upload?

    On a webpage, is it possible to split large files into chunks before the file is uploaded to the server? For example, split a 10MB file into 1MB chunks, and upload one chunk at a time while showing a progress bar? It sounds like JavaScript doesn't have any file manipulation abilities, but what about Flash and Java applets? This would need to work in IE6+, Firefox and Chrome. Update: forgot to mention that (a) we are using Grails and (b) this needs to run over https.

  • cannot get mssql working with sql server 2005

    I'm a MySQL/Apache user, trying my hand with IIS and SQL server, so please, if this is a stupid question have patience. I'm using IIS version 7.5. PHP version 5.3.13 and SQL server 2005 IIS is running on port 90, not sure if that will make a difference or not. I know my sql server is running because I can explore/connect to it in Server management studio. I know php is configured properly, because //localhost:90/phpinfo.php works fine. I updated the php_msql.dll extension in phpinfo to: extension=ext/php_msql.dll EDIT- However, when I run phpinfo() under the "configure command" row, this is present: --without-mssql I found/downloaded the ntwdblib.dll and placed it in both sys32 and php root. All these things were supposed to fix the issue, and they haven't. This is the code I'm using, straight from php.net: <?php // Server in the this format: <computer>\<instance name> or // <server>,<port> when using a non default port number $server = 'localhost'; // Connect to MSSQL $link = mssql_connect($server, 'uname', 'pwd'); if (!$link) { die('Something went wrong while connecting to MSSQL'); } ?> obviously I'm using a real username and password, but when I load the file in my browser, I receive a 500 error. Upon checking the log, this is what is displayed: 2012-06-25 12:41:29 ::1 GET /test.php - 90 - ::1 Mozilla/5.0+(Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64)+AppleWebKit/536.5+(KHTML,+like+Gecko)+Chrome/19.0.1084.56+Safari/536.5 500 0 0 5 That (to me) doesn't help me much.     i have issue that access and error log are written in same file ! , the configuration in virtualhosts.conf as the following : <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName ************ ServerAdmin support@************8 DocumentRoot /var/www/html/*********.com ErrorLog /var/log/httpd/********/********.com_error_log CustomLog /var/log/httpd/********/********.com_access_log combined <Directory /var/www/html/***********.com> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost> as you see from the configuration each access and error logs should be save separately , but both logs are written in *.com_access_log , i have double check all permission , group and owner ... can't find anything wrong previous error in log file : [Thu Sep 19 14:15:02 2013] [error] [client 192.168.10.54] client denied by server configuration: /var/www/html/**********/show_has_offers.php i have tried to generate same error , i can find the hit in access log only as the following : 192.168.10.75 - - [24/Oct/2013:08:11:14 +0000] "GET /show_has_offers.php HTTP/1.1" 404 1586 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0" 0 17332 and nothing in error log !!   • What do you do when your page displays incorrectly on your server, but correctly in jsFiddle?

    I have a page which is displaying incorrectly in Firefox and Chrome (in that the tbodies do not show borders); however it displays correctly in jsfiddle (here: http://jsfiddle.net/JwkrD/ - both browsers). I'm not sure how to proceed - how do I get the tbodies to show up on my page in the same way as they do in jsfiddle? I'm using the same DOCTYPE, both pages are being served up with type text/html. I can't find any other differences.

    I'm writing a Firefox addon that is triggered whenever a word is highlighted. However I need a script that detects when a word is highlighted, and I'm stuck. An example would be nytimes.com (when you're reading an article and you highlight a word, the reference icon pops up). However the nytimes.com script is super complex. I'm 16 and not much of a programmer, so that is definitely way out of my league.

  • Simple jquery Fade Slideshow fails on certain browsers

    So I have a simple slideshow on my website which just shows one image then shows another until it reaches the end or the user hits skip in which case it shows index.html. The site is served on apache2 with Django. The slideshow works perfectly on most machines, but certain machines it shows some images twice and other images not at all and the timing is off. I am using jquery 1.4.3. It consistently either works or fails on a machine. I've had it fail in ie 7,8 firefox 3.6.3 and chrome. I've also had it succeed in ie6,7,8 firefox 3.6.3,3.4.2,3.1 and chrome.
