  I am trying to figure out how to create dynamic links and urls on a static webpage. What I want to do is the following: I have a single webpage for example: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.HTML that will always look the same, except for one link on the page. the link would be on the page for example: LINK TO AFFILIATE: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_DYNAMIC_REFERER the only thing would change is the "DYNAMIC_REFERER" with every dynamic url on this page: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test1 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test2 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test3 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test4 which would only hange the dynamic link on the page to: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test1 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test2 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test3 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test4 Can someone tell me how I could go about doing this?   I have ASP.NET web application using MSSQL express at the moment. But I want to use MSSQL 2008. But I'm NOT sure about what kind of license I should buy. I'm considering the Processor License according to this document. I'm not sure if it's the right choice. If I buy User CAL. should I buy only 1 CAL for my web application? or for all visitors who visit my web site? I also have a Windows desktop application that write/read data from the server. Do I need a seperate license with for this Windows application if I buy Processor License. Thank you for suggestion.

• The Work Order Printing Challenge

  One of the biggest concerns we've heard from maintenance practitioners is the ability to print and batch print work order details along with its accompanying attachments. Indeed, maintenance workers traditionally rely on work order packets to complete their job. A standard work order packet can include a variety of information like equipment documentation, operating instructions, checklists, end-of-task feedback forms and the likes. Now, the problem is that most Asset Lifecycle Management applications do not provide a simple and efficient solution for process printing with document attachments. Work order forms can be easily printed but attachments are usually left out of the printing process. This sounds like a minor problem, but when you are processing high volume of work orders on a regular basis, this inconvenience can result in important inefficiencies. In order to print work order and its related attachments, maintenance personnel need to print the work order details and then go back to the work order and open each individual attachment using the proper authoring application to view and print each document. The printed output is collated into a work order packet. The AutoVue Document Print Service products that were just released in April 2010 aim at helping organizations address the work order printing challenge. Customers and partners can leverage the AutoVue Document Print Services to build a complete printing solution that complements their existing print server solution with AutoVue's document- and platform-agnostic document print services. The idea is to leverage AutoVue's printing services to invoke printing either programmatically or manually directly from within the work order management application, and efficiently process the printing of complete work order packets, including all types of attachments, from office files to more advanced engineering documents like 2D CAD drawings. Oracle partners like MIPRO Consulting, specialists in PeopleSoft implementations, have already expressed interest in the AutoVue Document Print Service products for their ability to offer print services to the PeopleSoft ALM suite, so that customers are able to print packages of documents for maintenance personnel. Here's an interesting piece from David Linthicum on eBizq: In the world of SOA, the concept of SOA governance is getting a lot of attention. However, how SOA governance is defined and implemented really depends on the SOA governance vendor who just left the building within most enterprises. Indeed, confusion is a huge issue when considering SOA governance, and the core issues are more about the fundamentals of people and processes, and not about the technology. SOA governance is a concept used for activities related to exercising control over services in an SOA, including tracking the services, monitoring the service, and controlling changes made to the services, simple put. The trouble comes in when SOA governance vendors attempt to define SOA governance around their technology, all with different approaches to SOA governance. Thus, it's important that those building SOAs within the enterprise take a step back and understand what really need to support the concept of SOA governance. The value of SOA governance is pretty simple. Since services make up the foundation of an SOA, and are at their essence the behavior and information from existing systems externalized, it's critical to make sure that those accessing, creating, and changing services do so using a well controlled and orderly mechanism. Those of you, who already have governance in place, typically around enterprise architecture efforts, will be happy to know that SOA governance does not replace those processes, but becomes a mechanism within the larger enterprise governance concept. People and processes are first thing on the list to get under control before you begin to toss technology at this problem. This means establishing an understanding of SOA governance within the team members, including why it's important, who's involved, and the core processes that are to be follow to make SOA governance work.   I am building a website with user generated comments. In order to implement user moderation/spam-protection, users have the ability to mark comments as spam. When one comment is marked as spam, I want all comments from the same IP address to be deleted. I am not familiar with spam prevention in general, other than Captcha. Question: is this a feasible/good system for spam prevention? are there better ways, or improvements I can make? Thanks.

We have SDK's for multiple development environments, such as Visual Studio and also Eclipse, along with SDK's for iOS, Android and other environments. Windows Azure is a "back end", so almost any technology or front end system can use it to solve a problem. The SDK's are primarily for development. • Sharepoint: Multiple Alternate Access Mapping Collections for Single Web Application

  Hi All, We have a SharePoint MOSS 2007 installation which has two different external hostnames. When inspecting the setup I've noticed that there are two Alternate Access Mapping Collections mapped to the same web application. Each AAM collection contains one url mapped to the default zone. I can't see how AAM collections are mapped to web apps or even how to create a new AAM collection. I've always thought that there was just a one to one mapping between web apps and AAM collections. Does anyone have any idea as to how you would create such a situation? Cheers Russell

• Should I avoid SharePoint Development in Visual Studio?

  Hello, Not long ago I started an internship at a company that supplies SharePoint consultancy, hosting and development. While their consultancy seems to be pretty good and solid, I feel their development department lacks direction. The reason for this, most likely, is that they stopped outsourcing not too long ago. One thing that I've frequently bumped my head into is the following: My supervisor strongly insists that everything that can be done natively in SharePoint (somehow this includes editing xslt files in Designer) should be done in SharePoint. Even if this results in longer development time (at least when they make me write XSLT) and reduced usability. Her main arguments for this are: Better maintainability Editing the functionality doesn't require programming knowledge I feel the company is a little biassed and I am unable to get a decent discussion going. This is why I am looking for other places to get some responses on the subject (and not only on the arguments of my supervisor, but more on the subject in general). Kind regards

The RememberMe control in the login form, for example, really doesn’t need validation, so I forget to include the Html.ValidationMessageFor helper line for that control in particular. As a result, when I’m debugging using IE, I get a silly JSON parsing exception when changing focus from one field to another. The exception doesn’t hurt anything, as far as I know, but it’s just plain annoying. If you’re getting this error, and you don’t want validation messages showing up for controls on a form, you can put them in div tags and set the display style on the divs to none. When I have a handful of controls that I don’t want the validation messages for, I just throw them all in the same div and hide it.
