  • Getting Tap/Touch Position when selecting a TableView cell

    Hi, hope to get some help here because this is something that really makes me mad... I have a view with a tableView, and when I tap a cell I want to present a popOver window pointing the arrow to the cell I tapped. the things that I think I need is: 1- the position of the cell in the screen (not in the view, because on large tables the Y value of the cell's rect could be grater than screen hight) or 2- a CGPoint or something similar that represents the point in the screen I tapped. I can't figured this out, and makes me really mad!!! Any help will very very very very usefull. Have a nice day.

The system will have to: handle the money part (PayPal&Co. are OK) let user buy old issues of the Magazine warn user on subscription expiring, etc. PDF stamping and WordPress integration (user credential sharing, page access of subriscrebed goods, etc) will be a big plus.

    For the Java EE track at JavaOne 2014 we are highlighting some key sessions and speakers to better inform you of what you can expect, right up until the start of the conference. To this end we recently interviewed Ed Burns. Ed is a veteran of Sun and now Oracle. He has been and is instrumental in pushing the JSF ecosystem forward as specification lead. Besides his specification lead work Ed is well regarded as an author and speaker on his own right. In addition to carrying the JSF torch Ed will be co-leading the key Servlet 4 specification for Java EE 8, along with Servlet specification guru Shing Wai Chan.   • Any Win32 APIs to get the screenshots?

    Hi all, I am writing an app, which needs to take the screen shots automatically (just like pressing PrintScreen button). So please suggest me how to get this done. A raw 24 bit BMP image would suffice. PLEASE NOTE: My app is in C, so any win32 APIs that can be called from my code is what I am looking for. (Sometimes back I had got an example code from codeproject which used to get the screen shots but the mouse pointer user to blink when the screen shot is taken. As multiple shots are taken this looks irritating to the user, so I don't want the mouse pointer to blink!) Regards, Chethan KR

There's always so much to see and do and learn at the conference so I want to share some of the 'don't miss' Fusion HCM highlights with you.   • How do I MOVE a circle drawn in a subclass of UIView by overwriting the method "drawRect"??

    hi, I'm trying to figure out what i'm doing wrong but i just don't get it. Here is what i want to do: I want to draw a circle somewhere on the screen of the iphone and then i want the circle always to be displayed at the position where the user currently taps on the screen. I started by creating a subclass of UIView and adding the following lines into the "drawRect" method: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { //Create the main view! CGContextRef mainscreen = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); //Draw the dot //will be a circle cause rectangle is a square CGRect dotRect = CGRectMake(50, 80, 100, 100); [[UIColor blueColor] set]; CGContextStrokeEllipseInRect(mainscreen, dotRect); CGContextFillEllipseInRect(mainscreen, dotRect); } The appears just fine but now i have no idea how to make it move around on the screen i've tried serveral things and nothing worked pls help!

  • Looking for popUpMenuPositioningItem:atLocation:inView: equivalent for 10.5

    I'm working on an application that needs to display a context menu on screen in various scenarios. In the function I'm writing, I don't have access to any NSWindows or NSViews. I'd like to use popUpMenuPositioningItem:atLocation:inView as this function works perfectly for me in 10.6. However, we have a requirement to support 10.5, so this function isn't available to me. The feature I'm most interested in, as stated in the documentation is: If view is nil, the location is interpreted in the screen coordinate system. This allows you to pop up a menu disconnected from any window. Basically, I need to display the context menu given a location on screen, but without any associated view. Is there any way to achieve this on 10.5?

    Hi, It is mentioned in the Apple's documentation that if we use UISPlitViewController in our app, then that should be the root view controller. In our iPone app we are showing splash screen for some seconds till the loading of the app finishes. Once it is loaded the home screen needs to be displayed in a SplitViewController. If we use SplitViewController as the root view. How will we show the splash screen which is displayed in a single view where as SplitVieController displays two ViewControllers. Please explain me the how this can be done.

    Hey guys, I am working on a game, and wanted to add a screen that would open when the user clicked on certain objects. The screen would be laid out to have an image on the left, a title on the top right, and text below the title. I have a few problems with this, 1) How would I create the popup box? (preferably with rounded edges) 2) How would I wrap the text (in front of the picture, but not outside the popup-box, I may even need vertical scroll bars) 3) How would I account for different screen resolutions (would they even make a difference?) It runs decent -- but there is definitely lag the more screen I cover. Is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to achieve?

  • Send HTTP Post with default browser with C#

    Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to send POST data with the default browser of a computer in C#. Here is the situation. My client would like the ability to have their C# application open their browser and send client information to a webform. This webform would be behind a login screen. The assumption from the application side is that once the client data is sent to the login screen, the login screen would pass that information onto the webform to prepopulate it. This would be done over HTTPS and the client would like this to be done with a POST and not a GET as client information would be sent as plain text. I have found some wonderful solutions that do POSTS and handle the requests.     hello, I would like to leave the textbox via code. when user clicks in the textbox, and types in something , and then the user will click outside the textbox. on the screen there are just labels. only this one textbox is on the form. my problem is, that the textbox does not lost focus when I click everywhere on the screen. the texbox it still has the focus. this textbox is used to filter a list, built from labels. the complete story is: - I have no mainmenu on the screen, so the Sip icon is not visible - user clicks in the textbox, and i bring up the SIP, in the textbox.GotFocus event - user types in some letters, the list is filtered - if user clicks away, the SIP disappears (textbox.lostfocus), but the textbox still has the focus, I mean the cursor remains in the textbox - when user wants to type some other letters for filtering, it clicks in the textbox, but GotFocus does not fire how can I make the texbox to loose the focus?

    I've used VIM for many years as my primary text editor. And I am still learning how to use VIM for various editing tasks. The problem is that even if I learn something and use it once a week I forgot soon how I did it -- classic case is search and replace in many buffers using bufdo :(. I was wondering if there is any kata to daily VIM practice including many VIM commands: open existing files, create new files, edit files and move around: move cursor (beginning & end of line/function/block/screen, top & bottom of screen, move screen line up/down, etc.), mark, copy & paste, insert & remove characters/words/lines, move between buffers, move between windows, arrange windows, search & replace, repeat last command, formatting (=), probably some more (bookmarks, macros). save files, create/update/save an open projects (mksession and source). Do you know any kata for VIM of tutorial which could help to practice all above (and more) VIM commands?

  • How to achieve a palette effect on iPhone using OpenGL

    I'm porting a 2d retro game to iPhone that has the following properties: targets OpenGL ES 1.1 entire screen is filled with tiles (textured triangle strip tile textured using a single 256x256 RGBA texture image the texture is passed to OpenGL once at the start of the game only 4 displayed colours are used one of the displayed colours is black The original game flashed the screen when time starts to run out by toggling the black pixels to white using an indexed palette. What is the best (i.e. most efficient) way to achieve this in OpenGL ES 1.1? My thoughts so far: Generate an alternative texture with white instead of black pixels, and pass to OpenGL when the screen is flashing Render a white poly underneath the background and render the texture with alpha on to display it Try and render a poly on top with some blending that achieves the effect (not sure this is possible) I'm fairly new to OpenGL so I'm not sure what the performance drawbacks of each of these are, or if there's a better way of doing this.
