• NetBeans not liking libraries in lib-src

  I'm working on a project with a group that is using Eclipse, but I'm using Netbeans. Up until today this wasn't an issue. When updating from the repo they have added some source code as a library under a directory called /lib-src. When I try to compile the code I get an error that it can't find certain packages... these are the packages under /lib-src. Using NetBeans I can add the library as a folder so now the references to those packages are happy. • How do I make a background thread in Java that allows the main application to exit completely? This

  I have a Java application that creates a new thread to do some work. I can launch the new thread with no problems. When the "main" program terminates, I want the thread I created to keep running - which it does... But the problem is, when I run the main application from Eclipse or from Ant under Windows, control doesn't return unless the background process is killed. If I fork the main java process in ant, I want control to return to ant once the main thread is done with its work... But as it is, ant continues to wait until both the main process and the created thread are both terminated. How do I launch the thread in the background such that control will return to ant when the "main" application is finished? (By the way, when I run the same application under Linux, I am able to do this with no problems).

  Many are familiar with the hello world program in C #include <stdio.h> main () { printf ("hello world"); return 0; } Why do some precede the main () function with int as in: int main() Also, I've seen the word 'void' entered inside the () as in: int main(void) It seems like extra typing for nothing, but maybe it's a best practice that pays dividends in other situations? Also, why precede main() with an int if you're returning a character string? If anything, one would expect: char main(void) I'm also foggy about why we return 0 at the end of the function.

However, when I'm writing my makefile, I have some difficulties on deciding if I should put something as a dependency of the file or just at the linking rule. • NetBeans/C++ - how to choose the "main file" other than when creating a project?

  Hello, when I am creating a C++ project in NetBeans, there is a toggle button "Create main file" - I just enter a name for it and that's all. The problem is that I cannot put that file in a "different" folder than right in the main project folder. And I am "used" to put all the source files in a "src" folder (and its subfolders), but at the "project creation time" I "cannot" put the main file there. So I tried "not" to create the main file at project creation, but after that create manually the "src" file and then create a "cpp" file in that folder (this is "allowed" in NetBeans). But NetBeans could not find "which" is the main file. So how can I choose the main file other than when creating a project (if it is possible)?

• Project compilation requires a class that is not used anywhere

  When I build with ant my project that uses libgdx, I get a strange error. It says that a class com.google.gwt.dom.client.ImageElement is not found, but it isn't used at all in the code. How can I find what makes this class necessary? Even searching over the whole project doesn't give any results. It says that error is at PixmapTextureAtlas.java:16 (class source), but there is no code that uses that ImageElement class. Adding the library containing com.google.gwt.dom.client.ImageElement class helps, of course, but I'd like to figure out why this class in needed. • Are all View Models supposed to be accessed through the Main View Model in MVVM?

  I am currently working on a WP8 application. My current design is to have each view bind against a specific view model directly. Looking through the samples though, it seems that another way is to have all the view models accessed through the Main View Model and then have all the views to their view models through the MVM. Is this the correct way to do it (So that it doesn't cause flexibility and other issues in the future)?

I luckily chose to create a backup windows iso before the install and now want to reinstall windows but i couldnt find a sufficient program to mount the iso to my cd disk. My question is how can i burn the disk using VirtualBox or even how can i transform a virtual box partion to my main OS system?? thx in advance

To speak for myself, I use Ubuntu and Kubuntu (it varies between those two Linux distributions), because it is easy to get stuff done with, has all the development tools I need, is fast, stable and safe. And I think I would never make it without the UNIX utilities anymore.

• SQL server query not showing daily date result

  I have a simple user production report where daily quotas are tracked. The sql returns a weeks worth of data for all users and for each day it tracks their totals. The problem is if they are out for a day and have a zero production for that day then the result query just skips that day and leaves it out. • Can NSTask safely be used outside the main thread?

  Yesterday I read somewhere that NSTask isn't thread safe and that bothers me a lot, because I'm running a NSTask within a NSThread and is so far not experiencing any threading issues with it. My code is organized like this A: main thread -> B: worker thread -> C: worker task C: The worker task is a commandline program. B: The worker thread can start/stop the worker task and send it commands. A: The main thread can send commands to the worker thread. If NSTask is supposed to be used only within the main thread, then I'm considering moving the NSTask start/stop code to the main thread, just to prevent possible threading issues. Can NSTask be used outside the main thread? And if not then what may be the threading issues with NSTask?

With that said I want to nightly update the copy site with the updated files made to the main site from the prior day's updates to text files and new images. With that said, I need a physics engine, really to only do one thing: make a parabolic movement of my main character as he's jumping in the air. Currently, my computer version simply makes the guy move up at a 45 degree angle, and as soon as it hits the ceiling, down at a 45 degree angle. To that end, I have created a parent page called "Navigation", which has child pages for each page to be displayed in the navigation menu. Those pages then get 301 redirected to the actual page that should be served. This means the client can create pages freely, and then set up redirects for them as and when needed. This is a really easy way for him to manage his main menu and it works well. From an SEO point of view, is this okay? Will the pages be indexed fine?
