  • WPF. How do I create many LIstViews with the same look.

    - by Erik Z
    I've defined a listview in my recent project and realized that I will be using more listviews looking exactly the same and having the same solumns. Since I'm new to WPF am I curious of teh best way to do this. Is it to create a usercontrol? Use styles? I've tried to use styles but it didnt work the way I was hoping. I tried to set the "View" property using style, like this. <Style x:Key="ListViewStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListView}"> <Setter Property="View"> <ListView.View> <GridView> But it didnt work so I'm asking for your opinion?! Thanks.

  • [Android] Weird black line on top of list view

    - by CaseyB
    I am creating a layout with a ListView and at the very top of the list there is this weird black line that I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of! It's part of the ListView because it moves up and down as I size the ListView. Has anyone ran into this before? I couldn't get DDMS to take a screen capture for some reason so I took a picture of the screen with my G1, so please forgive the quality! As you can see the line is there at the top of the fade out in the list.

  • bind parent child listview asp.net

    - by Chris
    I'm trying to display two linq query results in a prent and child listview. I have the following code which gets the correct values to populate the listviews but when I nest the child listview inside the parent list view, I get an error saying "The name 'ListView2' does not exist in the current context". I presume I need to bind the two listviews in the code behind but my problem is I don't know how or the best way to do this. I have read a couple of posts on similar problems but my lack of knowledge on the subject doesn't make it clear to me. Please can somebody help me figure this out? It's the final piece of code I need to complete. Many thanks in advance. Here is my .aspx code: <asp:ListView ID="ListView1" runat="server"> <EmptyDataTemplate>No data was returned.</EmptyDataTemplate> <ItemSeparatorTemplate><br /></ItemSeparatorTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <li> <asp:Label ID="LabelID" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RecordID") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelNumber" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("CartID") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelName" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Number") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelDestination" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Destination") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelPkgName" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("PkgName") %>'></asp:Label> <li> <!-- LIST VIEW FOR FEATURES --> <asp:ListView ID="ListView2" runat="server"> <EmptyDataTemplate>No data was returned.</EmptyDataTemplate> <ItemSeparatorTemplate><br /></ItemSeparatorTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <li> <asp:Label ID="LabelFeatureName" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("FeatureName") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelFeatureSetUp" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("FeatureSetUp") %>'></asp:Label><br /> <asp:Label ID="LabelFeatureMonthly" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("FeatureMonthly") %>'></asp:Label><br /> </li> </ItemTemplate> <LayoutTemplate> <ul ID="itemPlaceholderContainer" runat="server" style=""> <li runat="server" id="itemPlaceholder" /> </ul> </LayoutTemplate> </asp:ListView> <!-- LIST VIEW FOR FEATURES [END] --> </li> </li> </ItemTemplate> <LayoutTemplate> <ul ID="itemPlaceholderContainer" runat="server" style=""> <li runat="server" id="itemPlaceholder" /> </ul> </LayoutTemplate> </asp:ListView> Here is my code behind: MyShoppingCart userShoppingCart = new MyShoppingCart(); string cartID = userShoppingCart.GetShoppingCartId(); using (ShoppingCartv2Entities db = new ShoppingCartv2Entities()) { var CartNumber = from c in db.NewViews where c.CartID == cartID select c; foreach (NewView item in CartNumber) { ListView1.DataSource = CartNumber; ListView1.DataBind(); } var CartFeature = from f in db.NewViews join o in db.NumberFeatureViews on f.RecordID equals o.RecordID where f.CartID == cartID select new { o.FeatureName, o.FeatureSetUp, o.FeatureMonthly }; foreach (var x in CartFeature) { ListView2.DataSource = CartFeature; ListView2.DataBind(); } }

  • WPF ContextMenu with bound items: Items.Count == 0 in ContextMenuOpening event

    - by OregonGhost
    I have a ContextMenu with the ItemsSource bound to the selected item of a list view, like this: <ContextMenu ItemsSource="{Binding Path=PlacementTarget.SelectedItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Converter={StaticResource possibleConverter}}"/> The possibleConverter enumerates all possible values for a property of the the selected item, which are shown in the context menu. In the Opened event of the context menu, I select the current value like this: var cm = e.OriginalSource as ContextMenu; if (cm != null) { var lv = cm.PlacementTarget as ListView; var field = lv.SelectedItem as Field; var item = cm.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(cm.Items.OfType<object>().Where(o => o.ToString().Equals(field.StringValue)).FirstOrDefault()) as MenuItem; if (item != null) { item.IsChecked = true; } } Not particularly elegant, but it works. With the debugger I verified that the ContextMenu.Items.Count property has a non-zero value when expected (i.e. cm.Items.Count is non-zero in the if). So far, so good. There are, however, items in the listview where the context menu will have no items. In this case, an empty menu is shown. I tried to suppress this in the ContextMenuOpening event in the list view, like this: var lv = sender as ListView; if (lv != null) { var cm = lv.ContextMenu; if ((cm != null) && (cm.Items.Count > 0)) { // Here we want to check the current item, which is currently done in the Opened event. } else { e.Handled = true; } } Seems like it should work. However, cm.Items.Count is always zero. This is true even if ListView.SelectedItem did not change: For an item with menu entries, the menu is shown correctly after the first click, so the data binding has already happend. It is shown correct the second time as well, but in any case, Items.Count is zero in the ContextMenuOpening event. What am I missing? How can I suppress empty context menus? Why is the count zero in the ContextMenuOpening handler, which is in Windows Forms (ContextMenuStrip.Opening) the canonical point where to do these things? EDIT: Upon further investigating, it turns out that in the ContextMenuOpening handler, any binding to the listview fails, which is why ItemsSource is null. I tried to bind via ElementName, via a FindAncestor relationship, all to no avail. The PlacementTarget is null during that event. An ugly hack worked though: In the ContextMenuOpening event, I assign the list view to the ContextMenu.Tag property, while the ItemsSource binding now binds to Tag.SelectedItem. This updates the binding, so Items.Count is what it should be. It's still strange. How can you do meaningful things in ContextMenuOpening other than replacing the menu or something, if the binding fails because somehow the context menu is out of context during the event? Was it only tested with static pre-defined menu items?

  • Changing color of HighlighBrushKey in XAML

    - by phil
    Hi, I have the following problem. The background color in a ListView is set LightGreen or White, whether a boolflag is true or false. Example Screen Window1.xaml: <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ListViewItem}"> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=BoolFlag}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="LightGreen" /> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel> <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Personen}" SelectionMode="Single" SelectionChanged="ListViewSelectionChanged"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Vorname}" Header="Vorname" /> <GridViewColumn DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Nachname}" Header="Nachname" /> <GridViewColumn DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Alter}" Header="Alter" /> <GridViewColumn DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=BoolFlag}" Header="BoolFlag" /> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> </StackPanel> Window1.xaml.cs: public partial class Window1 : Window { private IList<Person> _personen = new List<Person>(); public Window1() { _personen.Add(new Person { Vorname = "Max", Nachname = "Mustermann", Alter = 18, BoolFlag = false, }); _personen.Add(new Person { Vorname = "Karl", Nachname = "Mayer", Alter = 27, BoolFlag = true, }); _personen.Add(new Person { Vorname = "Josef", Nachname = "Huber", Alter = 38, BoolFlag = false, }); DataContext = this; InitializeComponent(); } public IList<Person> Personen { get { return _personen; } } private void ListViewSelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { Person person = e.AddedItems[0] as Person; if (person != null) { if (person.BoolFlag) { this.Resources[SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey] = Brushes.Green; } else { this.Resources[SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey] = Brushes.RoyalBlue; } } } } Person.cs: public class Person { public string Vorname { get; set; } public string Nachname { get; set; } public int Alter { get; set; } public bool BoolFlag { get; set; } } Now I want to set the highlight color of the selected item, depending on the boolflag. In Code-Behind I do this with: private void ListViewSelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { Person person = e.AddedItems[0] as Person; if (person != null) { if (person.BoolFlag) { this.Resources[SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey] = Brushes.Green; } else { this.Resources[SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey] = Brushes.RoyalBlue; } } } } This works fine, but now I want to define the code above in the XAML-file. With <SolidColorBrush x:Key="{x:Static SystemColors.HighlightBrushKey}" Color="Green" /> I can overwrite the default-value. However, it works, but the color is set to Green for all selected items. I have tried different ways to switch the color of HighlightBrushKey between Green and Blue in XAML, depending on the boolflag, but I didn't succeed. May you can help me and give me some examples?

  • sorting filtered data in asp.net listview

    - by user791345
    I've created a listview that's filled up with a list of guitars from the database on page load like so: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["GuitarsLTDBConnectionString"].ToString()); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM Guitars", con); SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd.CommandText, con); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); da.Fill(dt); lvGuitars.DataSource = dt; lvGuitars.DataBind(); } The following code filters that list of guitars by a certain Make when the user checks the checkbox corresponding to that make protected void chkOrgs_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { DataTable dt = (DataTable)lvGuitars.DataSource; DataView dv = new DataView(dt); if (chkOrgs.SelectedValue == "Gibson") { dv.RowFilter = "Make = 'Gibson' OR Make='Fender'"; } lvGuitars.DataSource = dv.ToTable(); lvGuitars.DataBind(); } Now, what I want to do is be able to sort the latest data that is present within the listview. Meaning, if sort is clicked before filtering, the it should sort all data. If sort is clicked after filtering, it should sort the filtered data. I'm using the following code, which is triggered upon a LinkButton click protected void lnkSortResults_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { DataTable dt = (DataTable)lvGuitars.DataSource; DataView dv = new DataView(dt); dv.Sort = "Make ASC"; lvGuitars.DataSource = dv.ToTable(); lvGuitars.DataBind(); } The problem is that all the data that the listview was loaded with before any filtering is sorted, and not the latest filtered data. How can I change this code so that the latest data available in the listview is the one that's sorted? Thanks

  • C# - How to edit a selected SubItem programmatically?

    - by Dodi300
    Hello. Does anyone know how can I edit a subitem on a listView? I've tried using this: ListView1.SelectedItems[0].SubItems[1].Text = "Hello?"; But that doesn't work. I get the error "InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'index'". I've got two columns on the listview, so I figured the index of [1] would be the subitem. Thanks for the help!

  • ListActivity problem when using with RelativeLayout

    - by tomgamer
    Newb alert, I'm sure I'm doing something dumb here. I've been progressively expanding my UI, and I want to add a ListView in the middle of my UI. When I add it and change the activity to extend a ListActivity instead of just an Activity, I'm getting a Force Close. Using 1.5. Does a ListView not work embedded in a RelativeLayout? Thanks public class Categories extends ListActivity{ final static String[] ITEMS = {"blah", "floop", "gnarlp", "stuff"}; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.categories); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.listrow, R.id.textview, ITEMS); setListAdapter(adapter); XML looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView01" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:scaleType="center" android:background="@drawable/background"> </ImageView> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView02" android:src="@drawable/cat_heading" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> </ImageView> <ListView android:id="@+id/ListView01" android:layout_below="@id/ImageView02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></ListView> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout02" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> <ImageButton android:id="@+id/ImageButtonRecipes" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:src="@drawable/recipes"></ImageButton> <ImageButton android:id="@+id/ImageButtonSearch" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/ImageButtonRecipes" android:src="@drawable/search"></ImageButton> </RelativeLayout> </RelativeLayout> and the listrow.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/textview"/> </LinearLayout>

  • How to call notifyDataSetChanged() from a generic Adapter

    - by Matty F
    An OnItemClickListener for a ListView has the following method: @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View v, int position, long id) I'd like to have the adapter behind the ListView refresh, and I believe this is done through the use of: BaseAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged() How do I use the parent parameter in the onItemClick method to do this? So far I've tried: parent.getAdapter().notifyDataSetChanged(); This throws an error because the object returned is of class HeaderViewListAdapter, which for reasons unknown isn't a subclass of BaseAdapter.

    - by Abhinav Raja
    i am getting JSON data from http://abinet.org/?json=1 and displaying the titles in a ListView. the code is working fine but the problem is, it is skipping few titles in my ListView and one title is being repeated. You can see the json data from url given above by copy paste it in JSON editor online http://www.jsoneditoronline.org/ i want titles in the "posts" array to be displayed in ListView, however it is being displayed like this: if you see the JSON data from the link above, its missing like 3 titles (they should come between the first and second title) and 5th title is being repeated. • RemoteViewsService never gets called whenever we update app widget

    - by user3689160
    I am making one task widget application. This is a simple widget application which can be used to add new tasks by clicking on "+New Task". So ideally what I have done is, I've added a widget first, then when we click on "+New Task" a new activity opens up from where we can type in a new task and it should get updated in the ListView inside the home screen widget. Problem: Now whenever I add a new task, the ListView does not get updated. The data gets inside the database a new is created as well. My onUpdate(...) method gets called as well. There is a WidgetService.java which is a RemoteViewService that is being used to call the RemoteViewFactory but WidgetService.java gets called only when we create the widget, never after that. WidgetService.java never gets called again. I have the following setup MyWidgetProvider.java AppWidgetProvider class for updating the widget and filling its remote views. public class MyWidgetProvider extends AppWidgetProvider { public static int randomNumber=132; static RemoteViews remoteViews = null; @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { updateList(context,appWidgetManager,appWidgetIds); } public static void updateList(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds){ final int N = appWidgetIds.length; Log.d("MyWidgetProvider", "length="+appWidgetIds.length+""); for (int i = 0; i<N; ++i) { Log.d("MyWidgetProvider", "value"+ i + "="+appWidgetIds[i]); // Calling updateWidgetListView(context, appWidgetIds[i]); to load the listview with data remoteViews = updateWidgetListView(context, appWidgetIds[i]); // Updating the Widget with the new data filled remoteviews appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetIds[i], remoteViews); appWidgetManager.notifyAppWidgetViewDataChanged(appWidgetIds[i], R.id.lv_tasks); } } private static RemoteViews updateWidgetListView(Context context, int appWidgetId) { Intent svcIntent = null; remoteViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(),R.layout.widget_demo); //RemoteViews Service needed to provide adapter for ListView svcIntent = new Intent(context, WidgetService.class); //passing app widget id to that RemoteViews Service svcIntent.putExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID, appWidgetId); //setting a unique Uri to the intent //binding the data from the WidgetService to the svcIntent svcIntent.setData(Uri.parse(svcIntent.toUri(Intent.URI_INTENT_SCHEME))); //setting adapter to listview of the widget remoteViews.setRemoteAdapter(R.id.lv_tasks, svcIntent); //setting click listner on the "New Task" (TextView) of the widget remoteViews.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.tv_add_task, buildButtonPendingIntent(context)); return remoteViews; } // Just to create PendingIntent, this will be broadcasted everytime textview containing "New Task" is clicked and OnReceive method of MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java will run public static PendingIntent buildButtonPendingIntent(Context context) { Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.putExtra("TASK_DONE_VALUE_VALID", false); intent.setAction("com.ommzi.intent.action.CLEARTASK"); return PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT); } // This method is defined here so that we can update the remoteviews from other classes as well, like we'll do it in MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java public static void pushWidgetUpdate(Context context, RemoteViews remoteViews) { ComponentName myWidget = new ComponentName(context, MyWidgetProvider.class); AppWidgetManager manager = AppWidgetManager.getInstance(context); manager.updateAppWidget(myWidget, remoteViews); } } WidgetService.java A RemoteViewsService class for creating a RemoteViewsFactory. public class WidgetService extends RemoteViewsService { @Override public RemoteViewsFactory onGetViewFactory(Intent intent) { int appWidgetId = intent.getIntExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID,AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID); Purpose of this is to get a new task added to the list of task. MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java BroadcastReceiver fired using a pending intent that starts an activity GetTaskActivity.java. Please help me out with this problem. I am seen all the posts here and on other websites no body is having any solution. But I am sure a solution exist to this. Thanks for your help!

  • Best List view solution for asp.net mvc?

    Its common to observe listview developments for webforms but no common in mvc. on the other hand for mvc I´m only finding grid views displaying tabular data. In your opinion which is the best List view solution for asp.net mvc?. Edited: ok, finally I found a possibility. Kazi Manzur wrote a listview using telerik controls. http://weblogs.asp.net/rashid/archive/2010/03/24/creating-rich-view-components-in-asp-net-mvc.aspx

  • Round bottom corners on Android Bitmap?

    Hey all, what would be best practice for clipping the bottom borders of a Bitmap? Just manipulate the Bitmap itself or overlay an alpha mask drawable or ...? The whole story: I've a Listview which looks like the iPhone's grouped UITableView style. I would like to display a Bitmap in the last row, but for now the Bitmap overlaps my custom background drawable of the Listview cell. Thx in advance!

Here is the code for my ListView control: <ListView Height="139" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="10,158,0,0" Name="lvAppointment" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="250" MinWidth="350"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Appointment" Width="120"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <DatePicker SelectedDate="{Binding Path=Appointment}"/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> <GridViewColumn Header="Type" Width="170"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ComboBox ???/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> <GridViewColumn Header="Done" Width="50"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <CheckBox IsChecked="{Binding Path=Done}" IsThreeState="False"/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> I'm popluating the list from a sql ce database via c# with the following code using (SqlCeCommand sqlCeAppointment = new SqlCeCommand("SELECT appid,appointment,done,apptype.type FROM appointment INNER JOIN apptype ON appointment.refatid = apptype.atid WHERE refeventid = @eventid;", sqlCeConn)) { sqlCeAppointment.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eventid", ((cListEventItem)lvEvent.SelectedItems[0]).id); using (SqlCeDataReader sqlCeAppointmentReader = sqlCeAppointment.ExecuteReader()) { lvAppointment.Items.Clear(); while (sqlCeAppointmentReader.Read()) { lvAppointment.Items.Add(new cListAppointmentItem { id = sqlCeAppointmentReader.GetGuid(sqlCeTerminReader.GetOrdinal("appid")), Appointment = sqlCeAppointmentReader.GetDateTime(sqlCeTerminReader.GetOrdinal("appointment")), Type = sqlCeAppointmentReader.GetString(sqlCeTerminReader.GetOrdinal("type")), Done = sqlCeAppointmentReader.GetByte(sqlCeTerminReader.GetOrdinal("done")) }); } } } I can popluate the list just fine. But i want "Type" to be a combobox so the user can select the apropriate type of the appointment (its a list of appointments connected to an event). This combobox should be filled with data thats inside a table of the sql ce database (apptype). This table is not static, the users can add and delete items from this list. I have tried a few ways i found via google, but failed. I guess i'm having problems understanding how this works/should work. I hope someone can help me :( Thanks in advance

  • Android - ListView click HOWTO?

    - by teepusink
    Hi, How do I listen to click event on a ListView? This is what I have now ListView list = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.ListView01); ... list.setAdapter(adapter); When I do the following list.setOnItemSelectedListener(new AdapterView.OnItemSelectedListener() { public void onItemSelected(AdapterView parentView, View childView, int position, long id) { setDetail(position); } public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView parentView) { } }); That doesn't seem to do anything on click. And all those code live within a class that extends Activity. Thanks, Tee

  • ASP.NET error when trying to configure ListView + SqlDatasource for a MySql Table

    - by stighy
    Hi, i'm using ASP.NET + a MySql Db. I'm trying to configure a ListView so i've written: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsDatiUtente" runat="server" ConnectionString="Server=12.28.136.29;Database=mydb;Uid=m111d1;Pwd=fake;Pooling=false;" ProviderName="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM user WHERE idUser=@IdUser" / At the beginning of my aspx page i've added <%@ Import Namespace="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" %> But if i click to the sqldatasource and click "Refresh Schema" i got this error: "Unable to retrive schema.... Unable to find the requested .Net Framework data provider" For instance, i've installed it , but i've also uninstalled old version, then installed new versions. In my project i simple copy Mysql dll into "bin" folder, then add a reference to that dll. I'm not sure is the corrected way... I need to have the "refreshed schema" to permit vs.net to build automatically my listview ... if i can't to "auto build" listview, i have to write all code by hand, and it is a too expensive work me :( What i'm wrong ? Thank you!

  • ListView is Widget(View) or Layout(Viewgroup)?

    - by Manoj Maurya
    Hi All, I need your help to explore few topics in Android. My understanding is Widget is View and Layout is ViewGroups in Android. I described the problems as below- Please go through the below links- developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/custom-components.html- (add http:// in the beginning) developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/index.html - (add http:// in the beginning) In the first link ListView is included as Widget and in the Second link ListView has been shown as Layout. So, is ListView is Widget(View) or Layout(Viewgroup)? Same is the case for Spinner in Andriod developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-spinner.html- (add http:// in the beginning) (Link- says Spinner is Widget(View)) developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/layout-objects.html- (add http:// in the beginning) says Spinner is Layout(ViewGroup) So, Spinner is View or ViewGroup? Please update me with your views?

  • Android ListView Item Visibility

    - by user1478754
    I'm trying to create a screen that displays multiples items. For this, I've created a listview but I'm not sure how to approach how to add/remove items from it. Since I'm using custom listview items, I've created my own listadapter but now I need a way to add items on a button click. Is there a way to create listview that can take an indefinite amount of items (instead of passing it in an fixed length array of View objects)? Also what's the best way to remove items from listviews? setVisibility?

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I know for a fact the web service returns an ArrayList. Everything seems to be working fine, just no data in the ListView or the ArrayList.....Thanks in advance! • WPF - List View Row Index and Validation

    - by abhishek
    Hi, I have a ListView with TextBoxes in second column. I want to validate that my text box does not contain a number if the third column(data_type) is "Text". I am unable to do the validation. I tried a few approaches. In one approach I try to handle the MouseDown event and am trying to get the Row number so that I can get the data_type value of that row. I want to us this value in the Validate method. I have been struggling for a week now. Would appreciate if anybody could help. <ControlTemplate x:Key="validationTemplate"> <DockPanel> <TextBlock Foreground="Red" FontSize="20">!</TextBlock> <AdornedElementPlaceholder/> </DockPanel> </ControlTemplate> <Style x:Key="textBoxInError" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={x:Static RelativeSource.Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> <DataTemplate x:Key="textTemplate"> <TextBox HorizontalAlignment= "Stretch" IsEnabled="{Binding XPath=./@isenabled}" Validation.ErrorTemplate="{StaticResource validationTemplate}" Style="{StaticResource textBoxInError}"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding XPath="./@value" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged"> <Binding.ValidationRules> <local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation> <local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation.DataType> <local:DataTypeCheck Datatype="{Binding Source={StaticResource dataProvider}, XPath='/[@id=CustomerServiceQueueName]'}"/> </local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation.DataType> <local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation.ValidRange> <local:Int32RangeChecker Minimum="{Binding Source={StaticResource dataProvider}, XPath=./@min}" Maximum="{Binding Source={StaticResource dataProvider}, XPath=./@max}"/> </local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation.ValidRange> </local:TextBoxMinMaxValidation> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding > </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="dropDownTemplate"> <ComboBox Name="cmbBox" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" SelectedIndex="{Binding XPath=./@value}" ItemsSource="{Binding XPath=.//OPTION/@value}" IsEnabled="{Binding XPath=./@isenabled}" /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="booldropDownTemplate"> <ComboBox Name="cmbBox" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" SelectedIndex="{Binding XPath=./@value, Converter={StaticResource boolconvert}}"> <ComboBoxItem>True</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>False</ComboBoxItem> </ComboBox> </DataTemplate> <local:ControlTemplateSelector x:Key="myControlTemplateSelector"/> <Style x:Key="StretchedContainerStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListViewItem}"> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch" /> <Setter Property="Template" Value="{DynamicResource ListBoxItemControlTemplate1}"/> </Style> <ControlTemplate x:Key="ListBoxItemControlTemplate1" TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Border SnapsToDevicePixels="true" x:Name="Bd" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{DynamicResource {x:Static SystemColors.ActiveBorderBrushKey}}" Padding="{TemplateBinding Padding}" BorderThickness="0,0.5,0,0.5"> <GridViewRowPresenter SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}"/> </Border> </ControlTemplate> <Style x:Key="CustomHeaderStyle" TargetType="{x:Type GridViewColumnHeader}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="LightGray" /> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Bold"/> <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Arial"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Left" /> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="2,0,2,0"/> </Style> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid x:Name="GridViewControl" Height="Auto"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="34"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <ListView x:Name="ListViewControl" Grid.Row="0" ItemContainerStyle="{DynamicResource StretchedContainerStyle}" ItemTemplateSelector="{DynamicResource myControlTemplateSelector}" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource dataProvider}, XPath=//CONFIGURATION}"> <ListView.View > <GridView > <GridViewColumn Header="ID" HeaderContainerStyle="{StaticResource CustomHeaderStyle}" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding XPath=./@id}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="VALUE" HeaderContainerStyle="{StaticResource CustomHeaderStyle}" CellTemplateSelector="{DynamicResource myControlTemplateSelector}" /> <GridViewColumn Header="DATATYPE" HeaderContainerStyle="{StaticResource CustomHeaderStyle}" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding XPath=./@data_type}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="DESCRIPTION" HeaderContainerStyle="{StaticResource CustomHeaderStyle}" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding XPath=./@description}" Width="{Binding ElementName=ListViewControl, Path=ActualWidth}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> <StackPanel Grid.Row="1"> <Button Grid.Row="1" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Height="34" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch" > <StackPanel HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Center" Orientation="Horizontal" FlowDirection="RightToLeft" Height="30"> <Button Grid.Row="1" Content ="Apply" Padding="0,0,0,0 " Margin="6,2,0,2" Name="btn_Apply" HorizontalAlignment="Right" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center" Width="132" IsTabStop="True" Click="btn_ApplyClick" Height="24" /> </StackPanel > </Button> </StackPanel > </Grid>

  • android: AbsListView.OnScrollListener SCROLL_STATE_IDLE is not called after SCROLL_STATE_TOUCH_SCROL

    - by Francesco
    I have a problem with android version 2.1. It looks like a bug. I attached an OnScrollListener to my listView. I'm using the method onScrollStateChanged(AbsListView view, int scrollState) for monitoring the scroll's state of my listview. The scrollstate could assume 3 value (taken from the documentation): SCROLL_STATE_FLING: The user had previously been scrolling using touch and had performed a fling. The animation is now coasting to a stop SCROLL_STATE_IDLE:The view is not scrolling. Note navigating the list using the trackball counts as being in the idle state since these transitions are not animated. SCROLL_STATE_TOUCH_SCROLL:The user is scrolling using touch, and their finger is still on the screen I assume that the SCROLL_STATE_IDLE will always be passed after one of other two states. It's always true excepted for android version 2.1. SCROLL_STATE_IDLE is not passed after SCROLL_STATE_TOUCH_SCROLL The problem happens also if you stop the fling by a touch instead of let the scroll stop by itself. This strange behaviour leaves my listView in an unconsistate state. Someonelse has the same problem? Suggestion for a "not-so-dirty" work around?

  • C# WPF XAML Problem with icon in GridViewColumn

    - by Alex
    I've created a ListView with a GridView component in it. Now trying to fill one of the cells with an icon (PNG) like in the code sample below (save_icon.png): <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Date" Width="Auto" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Date}" /> <GridViewColumn Header="Time" Width="Auto" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Time}" /> <GridViewColumn Header="FriendlyName" Width="Auto" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding FriendlyName}" /> <GridViewColumn Width="Auto"> <Image Source="save_icon.png" /> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> Visual Studio gives me an error on the line, where i put the icon into the column (ERROR: "Error 35: The file save_icon.png is not part of the project or its 'Build Action' property is not set to 'Resource'.") I added the icon to the project as a resource and when i start the app, everything works (the icon appears at the right place). But the WPF designer window can't be reloaded and i'm not able to see changes in the designer, when i change the XAML code. Can somebody explain this error or am i doing something wrong? Thanks for every hint in advance!
