• Android Live Wallpaper: waitForCondition(ReallocateCondition)

  I've been developing a live wallpaper using GLWallpaperService, and have gotten good results overall. It runs rock-solid in the emulator and looks good. I've dealt with OpenGL many times before so have a solid command of how to do things... unfortunately I'm having a hell of a time getting this to actually be stable on the actual hardware. The basic symption occurs when you slide the physical keyboard on a Motorola Droid in and out a few times. This causes the wallpaper to get destroyed/recreated several times in quick succession -- which would be fine, as I have my assets clearing in onDestroy and reloading in onSurfaceChanged. The problem is after a few iterations of this, (four or five, maybe) the calls to onSurfaceChanged completely stop, and i get an endless string of this printed to the log: 04-02 00:53:18.088: WARN/SharedBufferStack(1032): waitForCondition(ReallocateCondition) timed out (identity=337, status=0). CPU may be pegged. trying again. Is there something I should be implementing here aside from the Android-typical onSurfaceCreated/onSurfaceChanged/onSurfaceDestroyed triumvirate? Browsing through the WallpaperService and WallpaperRenderer classes doesn't pop up anything obvious to me.

Before writing a project description, hiring a developer, etc., I'm doing a little research on what types of technologies / web development skills are necessary in order to build this type of site. The site will feature live video and audio for users to be able to chat with eachother, a simple profile which they can fill out, and the ability to filter the types of users they are connected with.   Over the last few days Windows Live Mail stopped fetching my Hotmail. I assumed it was a problem with Microsoft’s NNTP Web service, so I went back to using the browser to check my Hotmail. Well, it didn’t right itself, so I started probing and discovered the fix… no default connection. To repair it: From the Tools menu, click Accounts.   Last month, Oracle's own internal consulting group (OCS North America) went live on PeopleSoft Services Procurement and PeopleSoft Resource Management to manage all aspects of identifying, recruiting, and deploying billable subcontractors on North America Applications customer consulting projects. The primary goals were to enhance the subcontractor staffing process, improve operational and informational processes, and improve collaboration between the Oracle NA Consulting Subcontractor Program and subcontractor suppliers. Over 200 registered external suppliers access the tool, review open needs and competitively bid their resources to work on NA Applications projects. • Can't open a separate usbdrive when booting from a liveusb install 12.10

  My problem is using a separate flash drive when running from my live usb of ubuntu 12.10. The problem is that when I choose to Try Ubuntu from this usb drive it no longer lets me access my other flash drive. It automatically sets it to part of the live usb but it's a completely separate flash drive.Ubuntu loads fine and everything but when I go to access my other flash drive nothing happens. When I try to open it from the home folder it gives me Unable to mount 3.5 volume Adding read ACL for uid 999 to media/ubuntu failed: Operation not supported message. My live usb is on a 8gb flash drive and my other flash drive is 4g.

• ISO booting with grub2 in Ubuntu on an Apple

  I have Ubuntu with grub2 installed in an Apple Macbook pro with dual boot (using rEFIt), and I would like to use grub2 to boot the LiveCD ISO image of a system based in Debian too (CrunchBang). The ISO image is saved in the same hard disk, same partition as Ubuntu. I can easily boot many other LiveCD ISO images, but I cannot boot this one, and I cannot boot the MacOS system, from the grub menu, either. The installation of Ubuntu left a couple of menu entries to boot MacOS, but they never worked. SO I don't know if it is possible to boot them, and how. I have tried many options, but the menuentry I am trying now to boot crunchBang is this one: menuentry "crunchbang-10-20120207-i386.iso" { set isofile="/home/user/Desktop/ISO/crunchbang-10-20120207-i386.iso" loopback loop (hd0,3)$isofile linux (loop)/live/vmlinuz1 iso-scan/filename=$isofile toram=filesystem.squashfs findiso=$isofile boot=live config -- initrd (loop)/live/initrd1.img } And I copied it from here: http://linux4netbook.blogspot.com.es/2012/08/due-crunchbang-e-un-pennino.html

  My motherboard is gigabyte ga-g1975x-c with integrated audio "Creative Sound Blaster Live 24-bit". I have installed Ubuntu 10.10, and there was no sound at all. Alsa drivers was already installed. Finally after long searching, i have found how to make my sound work. /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf: options snd-ca0106 subsystem=0x10121102 //i have added this line and restart After restarting my speakers and microfon works fine. Maybe somebody knows different/better subsystem code for my sound card???

• initramfs - Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

  I'm desperately trying to install ubuntu 12.10 64bit on my new Ultrabook. Its a Sony T13 with 8gb ram, 256gb ssd, i7, windows 8. I have an extra partition, D: "UBUNTU" already created with about 30gb space using FAT32. Ubuntu is MD5 checked, on a previously working USB stick using UNetBootin. Grub loads fine When I ask to test out Ubuntu ("Try ubuntu without installing") it shows the purple loading screen for a bit then brings up this error in a busybox terminal: initramfs - Unable to find a medium containing a live file system Things I've tried that don't work: Different versions of Linux (Fedora, Arch, SL, even gParted) Using USB2/3 - No difference Legacy or UEFI - different interface, but same error BIOS has no option for anything "ACHI" related I have read through tons of other people having this problem and diligently tried all the above solutions, with no luck.

• Live boot from hard disk problem

  I've installed Ubuntu Desktop 13.04 32bit. Next I configured /etc/grub.d/40_custom to boot live system from ubuntu.iso (also Desktop 13.04 32 bit) I used configuration: menuentry "Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop" { loopback loop /boot/ubuntu.iso linux (loop)/casper/vmlinuz.efi boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/boot/ubuntu.iso noeject noprompt splash -- initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz } and it works OK. Later I made some changes on my installed ubuntu. I made some configuration, installed additional packages and so on. After that I made backup using remastersys tool. Remastersys gave me new ISO file. So I wanted to use it. And here was first problem. Remastersys creates only initrd.gz file. So I changed the grub configuration form: initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz to: initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.gz But after that, when I reboot my system I get error: /init: line 3: can't open /dev/sr0: No medium found Any ideas how to fix it?   I’ve reimaged my home laptop.  I’m trying to populate it with as much free goodness as possible to see if the free way is as good as the old pay way.  Turns out, I’ve got access to Windows Live Writer.  I’m not sure where that came from, maybe with Vista Ultimate.  I don’t know.  Either way, it makes my blog posting a whole lot easier.  So, maybe, just maybe, it will make me more likely to post.  We’ll see.   I created a live usb using usb-creator-gtk. I installed Ubuntu with it and all was good with the world.
