  • Why does jquery button take a second to refresh after updating a page using ajax

    when i refresh a part of a webpage that has a jquery ui button, it seems like I have to call: $(":button").button(); again or it shows up as a regular button. Thats fine but when i do this, it still shows up as a regular button for a split second before converting to the styling of the jquery theme. is there anyway to avoid this as it looks a bit messy. NOTE: i noticed that this is for anything that i am theming using jquery ui like autocomplete, button, etc. so its not button specific issue.

  • Refresh index of full text search

    Hi, in SQL Server 2008, when setting up a full text search, it gives me an option to choose a time/day for it to re-populate the index, can I do this from code instead like C# code? if so how would I do it? Would I need to execute SQL code from C# to refresh the index? Also, say if I DONT re-populate the index and add some new records, by using the FTS query will the new records still come up? But slower? Or will they not come up at all unless i reindex?

    Hi Guys, I have the fllowing requirement, I have a model called Task to display user tasks 1 . Link to add a new task (in the tasks index page) 2 . when a user click the link, 'tasks/new' action will open up inside a popup 3 . when the user save the new task, I want to close 'new task' popup and refresh the parent page 'tasks/index' so that new task will display I guess, i will have to execute a page reload java script at the end of 'tasks/create' action. But i'm not sure how to. can anyone help me out to make this happen, thanks in advance cheers, sameera

  • Calling a method at a specific interval rate in C++

    This is really annoying me as I have done it before, about a year ago and I cannot for the life of me remember what library it was. Basically, the problem is that I want to be able to call a method a certain number of times or for a certain period of time at a specified interval. One example would be I would like to call a method "x" starting from now, 10 times, once every 0.5 seconds. Alternatively, call method "x" starting from now, 10 times, until 5 seconds have passed. Now I thought I used a boost library for this functionality but I can't seem to find it now and feeling a bit annoyed. Unfortunately I can't look at the code again as I'm not in possession of it any more. Alternatively, I could have dreamt this all up and it could have been proprietary code. Assuming there is nothing out there that does what I would like, what is currently the best way of producing this behaviour? It would need to be high-resolution, up to a millisecond. It doesn't matter if it blocks the thread that it is executed from or not. Thanks!

    Again i rewrite my question with more details i.e. I am developing a website in Asp.net 2.0 in that i'm tracking the user's some details like their id,no of page hitted and time of hitting etc, in a LogfileDate(the LogfileDate contains whole day summary of all users) saved inside a folder(Folder is inside my project). And at another day when a new logfileDate created i want to mail the previous day Logfile and delete that file after sending. Everything happened but when It is going to delete its shows file is accessed by another process. So I need to refresh that folder after sending mail so that it got free with buffer. I'm not using IIS and i dont want it to use.

  • Rate my C# code (~300 SLOC) using GDI+/Backgroundworker

    Hi, I want to get some feedback on my code! Below is some background info. I am taking a pre-certification course in C# (Sweden, 15 ECTS). The focus of the course is theoretical and only limited practical work. I dont find the assignments very hard at all to tell you the truth, but since I only have very limited work experience as a developer (I have worked 15h/week at Ericsson since November) I think I would benefit from having the certificate (70-536 and more probably). I am currently reading Martin Fowler's "Refactoring: Improving the design of existing code" and I tried to apply his techniques to my latest lab in the course. I have been on the lookout for a website which have the idea of providing feedback on code, but so far I have yet to discover any. Please take a look on my code and tell me what you think. It is only roughly 300 lines of code divided into a couple of classes. GDI+, backgroundworker and user controls are what the lab is about. I reckon you may have to spend as little as a couple of minutes on looking on the solution.     What I need is: what trigger to use and where to put it. I will give you an example of what I am doing. I have a Contract form that is fully editable except the contract financial areas, which is read only. I want the user to press a button called, “change rates” and that will have a trigger “When-Button-Pressed” and call_form(UpdateFinancials);. Now, in this screen, I have the user change the financial information such as increase the contract from 50k to 100k. Then the user saves and exits. This will then close the child form "UpdateFinancials" and show the parent form "ContractForm". The problem is, it still has all the old information on it. I need the information in the form to refresh when it gets back from the child form of the Call_Form function.

StateObject A; void doSomething() { A->hullaballoo();} **void ReFreshMyGui() { //take state A and redraw }** }; State object is being shared by multiple classes to update the state but this Gui Object specializes in displaying the state. So I would like to call the Refresh function via StateObject whenever its modified. I am not sure how or if signals will provide the solution. Any hints?

  • Force reload/refresh when pressing the back button

    I will try my best to explain this. I have an application that show the 50+ projects in my view page. The user can click the individual project and go to the update page to update the project information. Everything works fine except that after user finish updating the individual project information and hit 'back' button on the browser to the previous view page. The old project information (before update) is still there. The user has to hit refresh to see the updated information. It not that bad, but I wish to provide better user experience. Any idea to fix this? Thanks a lot.

    I use a GridView to represent data from a table in my DB. the GridView has some template fields whose content are determined before displaying the Grid ( I use the RowDataBound event to determine content of template fields before displaying the GridView). The page displays a list of records from the table records and then, the recording process starts. after the process is over, the template fields should be updated. how do I automatically refresh the GridView after the process is finished ? it should be noted that the GridView is contained within an control and that I continuously poll the server using a Timer control that executes "GridView1.DataBind()" at the server level every 60 seconds. since the GridView is inside an UpdatePanel, calling DataBind() method on it doesn't seem to call the RowDataBound event. How can I solve this ?

    I have a python script which reads email addresses from a database for a particular date, example today, and sends out an email message to them one by one. It reads data from MySQL using the MySQLdb module and stores all results in a dictionary and sends out emails using : rows = cursor.fetchall () #All email addresses returned that are supposed to go out on todays date. for row is rows: #send email However, my hosting service only lets me send out 500 emails per hour. How can I limit my script from making sure only 500 emails are sent in an hour and then to check the database if more emails are left for today or not and then to send them in the next hour. The script is activated using a cron job.

    How can you set rate limit access to API using Iptables. Tried to set limit using port 80, but I don't want to set limit to the web access entirely. Is there a way to specified a subdomain rather than port. Example: set rate limit to api.example.com not example.com? If there is no way to set rate limit by subdomain, what is the suggested rate limit access to port 80 without risking blocking a legitimate web user? One connection per second would be enough?
