    Original question is here original question I can not answer to that question because the system requires me to have 10 credits, very nice.... This error is based mostly on mobile devices, mostly on iPhones and mostly on mobile networks. This is how much I have narrowed it to. I believe: Hotmail checks where your are connecting from If it is a mobile network it requires additional security for sending messages but the default iPhone config does not have this option for hotmail if the user creates the hotmail account on the iPhone with SMTP AUTH enabled manually it might solve the situation Cheers, Tony

    Here's the situation: In a remote "office" I have a computer with no network connection, that I need to network with when I'm at this remote office. There is a wireless network where this computer is, but no wireless adapter in the computer. I have a laptop running Windows 7 that can connect to the wireless, and the computer is running Windows Vista. What is the best way to get them both connected? I know I can buy a USB wireless adapter or something for the computer, but is there an easy way to do it with what I've got?

    I'm currently trying to connect 2 USB devices together, but both ends are type A plugs. Before I buy a physical extension cords with 2 type A receptacles, I'd like to know if I can connect these 2 devices together at all by passing data "transparently" through a Linux box with = 2 USB ports. I'm actually trying to connect a keyboard to an Android phone, and I want to first try if it can work by using a Linux box as a "virtual" USB extension cord. Has anybody done something like this before? Thanks!

  • Why does my Windows computer immediately turn back on after sleep/hibernate?

    After clicking sleep or hibernate in Windows 7, my computer loads for a while and then goes into sleep mode, but not 1 second later it powers back up. The event log has no errors and no warnings appear when it comes back out of sleep/hibernation. Here's my system specifications: Asus P5KPL-VM Windows 7 I believe this is all that's relevant. I've installed the latest chipset drivers, but I'm unable to update my BIOS (but this is another matter; maybe because the motherboard in the V3-P5G31 bundle is different). I've also tried turning off the "Allow this device to wake up my computer" for the network card, keyboard, and mouse -- but this makes no difference. If flashing the BIOS is the only thing that will fix this, then I will create a new question to this effect. Maybe I should change the suspend mode from S3 to S1?

  • WPF Toolkit Datagrid - how do you turn selection off?

    I have a datagrid in WPF that I am binding to an object. I have a DataGridCheckBoxColumn on there which I want the users to be able to go through and tick the ones they want. Problem is they have to click twice, once for selection then again to check/uncheck. How on earth do you turn this off, I've been searching for way to long to find the answer to this. The datagrid has SelectionMode and SelectionUnit properties - neither of which accept 'none' or 'go away' Any help is appreciated!   • Access Expression problem: it's too complex, so how do I turn it in to a function?

    Access 2007 is telling me that my new expression is to complex. It used to work when we had 10 service levels, but now we have 19! Great! I've asked this question in SuperUser and someone suggested I try it over here. Suggestions are I turn it in to a function - but I'm not sure where to begin and what the function would look like. My expression is checking the COST of our services in the [PriceCharged] field and then assigning the appropriate HOURS [Servicelevel] when I perform a calculation to work out how much REVENUE each colleague has made when working for a client. The [EstimatedTime] field stores the actual hours each colleague has worked. [EstimatedTime]/[ServiceLevel]*[PriceCharged] Below is the breakdown of my COST to HOURS expression.   • In PHP... best way to turn string representation of a folder structure into nested array

    Hi everyone, I looked through the related questions for a similar question but I wasn't seeing quite what I need, pardon if this has already been answered already. In my database I have a list of records that I want represented to the user as files inside of a folder structure. So for each record I have a VARCHAR column called "FolderStructure" that I want to identify that records place in to the folder structure. The series of those flat FolderStructure string columns will create my tree structure with the folders being seperated by backslashes (naturally). I didn't want to add another table just to represent a folder structure... The 'file' name is stored in a separate column so that if the FolderStructure column is empty, the file is assumed to be at the root folder. What is the best way to turn a collection of these records into a series of HTML UL/LI tags... where each LI represents a file and each folder structure being an UL embedded inside it's parent?? So for example: file - folderStructure foo - bar - firstDir blue - firstDir/subdir would produce the following HTML: <ul> <li>foo</li> <ul> <li> bar </li> <ul> <li> blue </li> </ul> </ul> </ul> Thanks

  • Storage subsystem borking after server restart (all on a Parallel SCSI bus)

    I have a server (with a SCSI HBA) connected to two Promise VTrak M310p RAID enclosure on the same bus. Everything is working fine until I have to restart my server. Once restarted, the server can no longer communicate with the enclosures: lots of read errors and bus resets. I have to turn off both enclosure, then turn off the server, then turn on the enclosure, then turn on the server for things to work. I don't believe this is the normal behavior, what could I be missing?

    I see that version 2 of MVC.NET now has a RequireHttps attribute, which works great for me. However, what's a good strategy for turning the effect off? For example, I want to use Https on some pages, but regular Http on others. Should I create my own RequireHttp attribute? EDIT: I'm using my own RequireHttp attribute, and it works fine, but I'm wondering if there's some built-in functionality in MVC.NET Version 2 that I'm missing. EDIT 2: I must not have been clear. My question concerns the following: if you use RequireHttps, then any requests after that will be over Https even if the Controller or Action is not decorated with RequireHttps. Unless I'm mistaken, you need a 2nd attribute such as RequireHttp to redirect requests to Http instead of Https.

    I am running an ecommerce theme on wordpress on a hostgator server, and coming up with this error. Security warning: set the value *register_globals* in the php ini to Off !! This theme will not work correctly otherwise. I can't find the php.ini in any of the folders. I tried creating a file with the added command and putting it in root as suggested via google, with no luck. Any recommendations?otherwise.

  • How can I turn a column name into a result value in SQL Server?

    I have a table which has essentially boolean values in a legacy database. The column names are stored as string values in another table so I need to match the column names of one table to a string value in another table. I know there has to be a way to do this directly with SQL in SQL Server but it is beyond me. My initial thought was to use PIVOT but it is not enabled by default and enabling it would likely be a difficult process with pushing that change to the Production database. I would prefer to use what is enabled by default. I am considering using COALESCE to translate the boolean value to the string that value that I need. This will be a manual process. I think I will also use a table variable to insert the results of the first query into that variable and use those results to do the second query. I still have the problem that the columns are on a single row so I wish I could easily pivot the values to put the column names in the result set as strings. But if I could easily do that I could easily write the query with a sub-select. Any tips are welcome.

  • Simple Multiplayer CCG System

    I am working on a cross plattform Multiplayer CCG (web, android, ios). Here are my goals in design: I want to game to be easly accessible and understandable for non CCG players within the first minute of play. a single game should be played by 2 - 4 players a once, without problems if one players drops out during play. players should make their next turn simultaneous (without waiting for other to make their turns) My current approach: each Card has a point value for four Elements. In each Turn an Element is (randomly) selected and every Player chooses 1 card out of 3. The Player choosen the card with the highest value for that element wins the Round. After 10 Rounds the players a ranked by how many rounds they won. Why does this approach seems not optimal? It seems really to easy to determin the next best turn. Your own turn is to little affected by the play style of the others. I would love the have a system where some cards are better against other cards. A bit of rock paper scissors where you have to think about what next turn the other players will make or so. But really think freely. I would love to hear ideas may it be additions or new systems to make a CCG with roughly the stated design goals. Thanks

    For a two player game where, your opponent could be on the network, CPU itself or near you where you would play turn by turn on the same machine. How do people design classes for re-use ? I am in a similar situation and have no experience in making such complex games. But here is what I have thought, If I am a player object , I should only be interacting with the GameManager or GameEngine Singleton , from which I will get various notifications about the game status. I dont care where and who my opponent is, this GameManager depending upon the game mode, will interact with gameNetworkManager , or AI tell me what the opponent played. I am not sure about the scenario where we play and pass [turn by turn on same machine]. Hoping for a brief but clear explanation or at least a link to a similar resource.:)

  • In Rails: How can I turn off caching for a particular activerecord database table?

    I have an associative table (scripts_runs) (has_many, through) that carries a status column ('started', 'ready to parse', 'completed' ). The started and ready to parse states are signaled by 'flag' files from distributed executions of the scripts pickedup periodically (20 seconds). The completed status is written directly to the associative table by the parser when it is done. With short scripts the complete status is written before the ready to parse flag file is picked up. Because the row from the table is cached, the complete status is not seen by the observer for the flag files and gets overwritten by the ready to parse status. This is not good. I need the status to be updated in the database in the correct sequence so an Ajax periodic query can inform the user of the status of each script and when the run ( consisting of one to many scripts ) is completed. Can I force the ScriptRun.find(:id) to always go to the database? If so how? If not, why not???

The row data is then the user_id and the count of the number of times that user viewed each module. eg. --------------------------------- User_ID red green blue white --------------------------------- 1 2 1 2 0 2 0 1 1 0 3 1 2 1 0 4 0 0 0 1 I was initially thinking that I could do this with PIVOT, but no dice; the database is a converted SQL Server 2000 DB that is running in SQL Server 2005. I'm not able to change the compatibility level, so pivot is out. How can I accomplish this?

    Crux of my problem: I've got an XML file that returns 20 results. Within these results are all the elements I need to get. Now, I need to return them in a random order, and be able to specifically work with item 1, items 2-5, and items 6-17.     I have a simple Spring form that gets bound to a form object on post. The http POST handler does some work, and then needs to redirect to a new URL, passing the form data as querystring parameters. So, assuming I have a form backing object with properties "param1" and "param2", I want to build a string that looks something like this: redirect:/app/new/page?param1=value;param2=value Now, Spring will automatically bind values FROM a querystring or a form post into my form object, but I want to GENERATE a querystring with values taken from the form object. Obviously it's trivial to do this manually but since I'm going to have lots of different form backing objects, is there some built-in facility in Spring to generate a query string from a form object, suitable for building into a URL? As I'm bit of a control-dude, I'd like to maintain the code myself. I'm not happy with the overkill of comments I don't need.   • Is there anyway to turn off the url "cliking" sound in IE using html, javascript, or flash?

    I have a flash application written in action script 2, and at one point it makes multiple back-to-back JavaScript requests using getUrl(). They have to be done as separate requests because IE had a limit on the length of a single request, and fails silently if that limit is passed. When ever this happens, if the user has their sound turned on there is a barrage of "click click click".
