• Uploading a zip file to a jsp and extract the content in another jsp

  I want to upload a zip file in a jsp page and the user is sent to another jsp page after he selects and uploads the file. In this second page I want to 1.)extract the uploaded zip file. 2.)read some content from the extracted file(s) and allow the user to change/edit them 3.)save the user changes in the files. 4.)zip the files again and save it in another destination. Please suggest me a rough outline of a solution as I am stuck in the phase in which I get the uploaded file and re-direct the user to the second jsp.

  Hi, I thought this may be straightforward question but did not find any definitive answer while searching net or SO. I have created scrollbar style (using standard scroll bard template - Blend 2) I am not sure how to apply this style "MyScrollStyle" to a ListBox Template . I saw on ListBox template they have Scroll Viewer -- which should contain the scrollbar Assuming it is something simple as ---Content Added--- After going through lot of xaml in template edit I kind of understood how to apply style. • on hover overlay image in CSS

  I need a div with picture bg to overlay an image (with some amount transparency) when hovered on. I need to be able to have one transparent overlay that can be used and reused throughout the site on any image. My first attempt was round-about to say the least. Because I found out you cannot roll-over an invisible div I devised a sandwhich system in which the original image is the first layer, the overlay is the second layer, and the original image is third layer again. This way, when you roll-over, the original image disappears revealing the overlay image over the original image: http://www.nightlylabs.com/uploads/test.html So it works. Kinda. Because of you cannot interact with an visibility:invisible element (why?!) the roll-over flickers unless you rest the cursor on it. Any help? This method is bad so if anyone has a better one please comment.

  We are having a BAPI that uploads the specified document to SAP. The BAPI accept three parameters: ID, FILE_LOC and FOLDER_NAME.   Basically I could upload files based on a project. Whenever I create a project, a new directory is created with the directory name as the project_name e.g. this is a test - this-is-a-test. • [PHP] Sanitizing strings to make them URL and filename safe?

  I am trying to come up with a function that does a good job of sanitizing certain strings so that they are safe to use in the URL (like a post slug) and also safe to use as file names. For example, when someone uploads a file I want to make sure that I remove all dangerous characters from the name. • Cocoa Memory Usage

  I'm trying to track down some peculiar memory behavior in my Cocoa desktop app. My app does a lot of image processing using NSImage and uploads those images to a website over HTTP using NSURLConnection. After uploading several hundred images (some very large), when I run Instrument I get no leaks. I've also run through MallocDebug and get no leaks. When I dig into object allocations using Instrument I get output like this: GeneralBlock-9437184, Net Bytes 9437184, # Net 1 GeneralBlock-192512, Net Bytes 2695168, # Net 14 and etc., for smaller sizes. When I look at these in detail, they're marked as being owned by 'Foundation' and created via NSConcreteMutableData initWithCapacity. During HTTP upload I'm creating a post body using NSMutableData, so I'm guessing these are buffers Cocoa is caching for me when I create the NSMutableData objects. Is there a way to force Cocoa to free these? I'm 90% positive I'm releasing correctly (and Instruments and MallocDebug seem to confirm this), but I think Cocoa is keeping these around for perf reasons since I'm allocating so many MSMutableData buffers.

• Jpeg calculating max size

  I have to say the I don't know much about how file formats work. My question is say I have a jpeg file that is 200 px by 200 px, how can one calculate what the maximum size that file could be in terms of megabytes/bytes? I think that the reasoning that led to the question will help some one answer me. I have a Java Applet the uploads Images that people draw with it to my server. I need to know what the max size that this file can conceivably reach. It is always going to be 200x200. It sounds dumb but are there colors that take more byte size then others and if so what is the most expensive one?

  My problem is very similar to this question, however I am posting a new one, as the answer to the aforementioned does not seem to solve my problem. I have a multiview application - the first view is where the user logs in to Facebook, and the second where he picks an image and uploads it there. The first time the app runs, everything works fine, however if I return to the login view and press logout, then any calls to sessionDidNotLogin, sessionDidLogout or session didLogin don't seem to work. I found out that the first time, if I NSLog(@"%@",session.delegates); I have 2; my LoginViewController and the FBLoginButton. However, apart from that first time, the same log prints only the LoginViewController and not the FBLoginButton. I guess this is connected somehow, but I don't know how to solve it. Do I have to manually add the FBLoginButton to the session delegates, or I'm doing something else wrong here? Thank you for any help/suggestion.

  I'm using the Uploadify jQuery control for client-side uploads. I think my IIS 7 configuration has issues with it. The uploadify POST immediately returns a HTTP 1.1 302 Found, back to my login page. I've tried to allow anonymous access to the uploading section(subfolder) plus the page(script) that processes the image in the web.config, using the location node(configuration ... location). Seems like the Uploadify post is immediately blocked. Again, this worked fine just using Visual Studio 2008, but when I run the site on the same machine I get the redirect. Your thoughts/ideas are very welcomed!

  I have read several articles/questions/forums discussing the best auto-complete plugin for jQuery. After trying several good ones, I've realized a flaw in most. If you are looking up countries and type 'In', a couple of countries show up. If you continue typing I-n-d-i-a, this results in 5 AJAX calls (see http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/6f1bcd69e1.png) its quite natural that India is a subset of In, so why call again? We need to simply filter the retrieved list client-side. Anyone knows about such an implementation? What is the status of the Jquery Autocomplete feature? I read at StackOverflow that it is no longer available with Jquery; but the Jquery website has a 'New' mark besides the link to Autocomplete. Thanks

For example, I have a model Article, containing a file upload(a picture). class Article include Mongoid::Document field :title, :type => String field :content, :type => String mount_uploader :asset, AssetUploader end But I would like to only store the file once, in the case where I'll upload many times the same file for differents articles. • Upload large files in .NET

  I've done a good bit of research to find an upload component for .NET that I can use to upload large files, has a progress bar, and can resume the upload of large files. I've come across some components like AjaxUploader, SlickUpload, and PowUpload, to name a few. Each of these options cost money and only PowUpload does the resumable upload, but it does it with a java applet. I'm willing to pay for a component that does those things well, but if I could write it myself that would be best. I have two questions: Is it possible to resume a file upload on the client without using flash/java/Silverlight? Does anyone have some code or a link to an article that explains how to write a .NET HTTPHandler that will allow streaming upload and an ajax progress bar?   Hello, Am wondering if there would be any security flaw in this approach. I am writing a piece of code which allows users to upload files and another set to download those files. These files can be anything. User uploads the file (any file including .php files), it is renamed to an md5 hash (extension removed) and stored on server. A corresponding mySQL entry is made. The user trying to download the file, uses say download.php to download the file where the md5 file is sent (with the original name). Is there someway in which anyone can exploit the above scenario?

Or, how can I create a style for, say, QParentWindow, and do it so that it's local only and does not cascade?

• Semi-transparent PNG Image on transparent Form

  Hello, I have a problem dealing with transparent images on transparent Forms. I have been trying and looking for a solution but nothing useful came up. The problem is: I have a Form, this Form has a Panel and the Panel has a PictureBox. Form and Panel are transparent. Now, if the image of the PictureBox has no semi-transparent it works. But if there is a gradient transparency then the "transparent color" is shown. I need the Panel and the PictureBox, so the PerPixelAlpha does not apply for this case. The Form will also have more Controls that should be visible and non transparent (just the PNG image should be transparent). The image below shows: [Left] When the Panel is not transparent. • What is the easiest way to get an embedded upload progress bar using Ruby/Sinatra/Haml/Passenger/ngi

  I have a website where people can upload 30+mb of data in a single block, and I want to be able to show them the progress of their upload without causing the web page to become unresponsive, similar to how flash uploads work in gmail. There's this question here, but I don't know if that progress bar is embedded in the page or if it's using the browser's progress bar. I'm also a bit of a web newb, so I'm not sure if it's the 'easiest'. I asked the swfupload guys how to do this here, and the answer I got is 'this tool requires some knowledge to use it' without giving me much help in figuring out where to get started. I also asked this question on ServerFault, and got no response, so maybe that was the wrong place to ask. I'm all for learning new things and so forth, but there are a lot of potential pathways to take here. Where should I start, and what do I need to know to make everything work with sinatra, haml, ruby, passenger, and nginx? Thanks!

• newbie: how to upload images from a form with PHP and mySQL

  I'm creating a web app (locally, so security doesn't matter) in PHP where the user uploads a set of information and a small .jpeg, which is then inserted into a mySQL table. I can do this no problem with all the text data, but I'm not sure how to cause the image to upload alongside it. I assume I will have to use the blob data type and input type="file", but I fooled around with that a little bit and the solution doesn't seem to be an intuitive extension of how input type="text" works. Do I need to do a lot more PHP scripting to get this to work? Is it possible to upload an image with a form, or is there a necessary intermediate step?

• Drupal Filefield won't upload javascript files?

  Hiya, I've got a site where individual pages might require some javascript or CSS files hooked into their heads. I'm trying to keep everything client side when it comes to managing this process, rather than getting on the FTP and sorting everything out in the code so I need to be able to upload css and js files. I've got CCK filefield up and running, and it works with css files, but it refuses to upload .js files. It instead seems to view every .js as ".js.txt" and then the file appears on the server as thisismyfile.js.txt Not ideal... Does anyone know how to work around this. Is it a mime type problem with Drupal or the server, or is Drupal set up to avoid script uploads and n00b hack attacks. Once the files are uploaded I intend to use PHP mode on the page or node to call drupal_add_css and drupal_add_js.

  Is there a way to connect to a SQL-CE database as a stream? Specifically, our ASP.Net application builds small SDF at runtime for off-line needs. When the user is done with his off-line duties, he uploads the SDF and the application imports the new and updated data. No problems there. Currently, we're saving the uploaded SDF to the web-server's hard-drive and connecting to the file. Can we connect to the uploaded SDF without saving it to the hard-drive? We are using the DbProviderFactory.CreateConnection method, but we're open to suggestions.

  Is it possible to configure the FlexPaper reader to un-encrypt password-protected pdfs or swfs? Here is the use-case: User uploads a pdf My server would then convert the pdf to swf via pdf2swf Then somehow encrypt the swf with a password (not sure best way to do this) Then the FlexPaper would be able to un-encrypt the swf and display it What I am trying to avoid is the caching of readable swf in the browser's cache. Any ideas on the best way to achieve this? I know, even with this it will not be a fully secure solution, but certainly helps. Note: I am running this on Linux and OS X and using Rails. Thanks! • How to prevent DOS attacks using image resizing in an ASP.NET application?

  I'm currently developing a site where users can upload images to use as avatars, I know this makes me sound a little paranoid but I was wondering what if a malicious user uploads an image with incredibly large dimensions that will eat the server memory (as a DOS attack), I already have a limit on the file size that can be uploaded (250 k) but even that size can allow for an image with incredibly large dimensions if the image for example is a JPEG that contains one color and created with a very low quality setting. Taking into consideration that the image is uploaded as a bitmap in memory when being resized (ie. not compressed), I wonder if such DOS attacks occur, even to check the image dimensions it has to be uploaded in memory first, did you hear about any attacks that exploited this? Am I too worried?
