• GNU Emacs23: cedet troubles

  Hi, Since I switched to CEDET as shipped with recent emacs release (23.2), CEDET does not work reliably anymore. For example I am no longer able to regenerate an EDE project. After looking aroud, it seems that all CEDET templates are missing from the tarball. Does anyone know how I can workaround this ? Regards

• Visual Studion 2008 App_Data defaults

  Is it possible to use the App_Data folder in conjunction with SQL Server 2005? When I try it specifies Express even though I have changed the ToolsOptionsDatabaseData Connections to the correct server. I have downloaded SQLEXPR32_x86_ENU.exe Version 10.0.1600.22 file locally and have gone through 7 installs and deinstalls with a variety of different errors. I pretty much given up on Express and would like to find a workaround if it exists. Thanks Dennis Keith

• .net Listview control will only display largeIcon.

  I'm using the RC of visual Studio 2010. Writing a .net 3.5 application. When I launch the app, the listview control only shows in LargeIcon view. This is not the view I want. I've set the View property in the designer with no success. I've even tried to explicitly set the view during runtime lvAvailableItems.View = View.Tile; Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what was your workaround.

• Use WixUIBannerBmp in my custom dialog

  In my installer I have set WixUIBannerBmp to point to my own custom dialog-banner.bmp. Now I have added a custom dialog I would like to have the same banner as on the other dialogs. Is there a way to refer to the existing WixUIBannerBmp? Workaround would be to create a Binary containing the image and refer to that. But it seems like it shouldn't be needed. /L

  Is there a way to force an indent in Python? I kind of want it for the sake of making the code look organized. • Can you determine hasLayout in IE8's developer toolbar?

  There was a lot of talk that IE8 was supposed to fix/remove hasLayout. Doesn't seem to have happened, though it's not usually an issue. The problem is that when it does crop up there doesn't seem to be a way for IE8's developer toolbar to tell you hasLayout is being applied, as it used to do in IE7's developer toolbar. Does anyone have a workaround? Am I missing something obvious?

  I'm trying to use CMake to build a program relying on blas, I'm detecting blas using : include (${CMAKE_ROOT}/Modules/FindBLAS.cmake) The problem is, FindBLAS require a fortran compiler and complain with -- Looking for BLAS... - NOT found (Fortran not enabled) As blas is already installed on my machine (ATLAS Blas), and gfortran is also installed, how can I enable Fortran, or is there a workaround to find the blas library for C?

  Since flash doesn't allow keyboard input while in fullscreen mode I'm wondering if there is a workaround to that? I have a flash that is going to run fullscreen in a browser and needs different kinds of keyboard input.   I have a wpf Window, which has wpf control and windows forms control hosted in WindowsFormsHost. The expected behavior is that the WPF control should be rendered on top of WindowsFormsHost.   Trying to set a Binary field to null gives me an ArgumentNull exception. I can set the field to be empty like this new Binary(new byte[] {}); but that's not null just an empty column. Is there a workaround using LinqToSql ?

  Hi, I can't find a correct way to get the environment variable for the appdata path in python. The problem is that my user name includes special characters (the german ae and ue). I made a workaround wit PyQt for Vista and Windows 7 but it doesn't work for XP Systems. Does anybody know the correct encoding of these environment variables or another solution for this problem?   Hi guys, I'm trying to set the Height of a ComboBox in C#.NET CF / WinCE6. So far I managed to do it by using the MessageWindow.SendMessage() with CB_SETITEMHEIGHT. The issue is the ComboBox gets to its initial Height when being clicked. Is there a workaround for this ? Thanks.

  Hi there, I have a stored procedure called 'GetPrices' with a Table-Valued Parameter called 'StoreIDs' and I would like to call it from my Entity Framework. But when I try to add the Stored Procedure to the EDM, i get the following error: The function 'GetPrices' has a parameter 'StoreIDs' at parameter index 2 that has a data type 'table type' which is not supported.   I have two classes which I need to reference each other. class Foo { public Foo(IBar bar) {} } class Bar { public Bar(IFoo foo) {} } When I do: container.RegisterAutoWiredAs<Foo, IFoo>(); container.RegisterAutoWiredAs<Bar, IBar>(); and when I try to resolve either interface I get a circular dependency graph which results in an eternal loop. Is there an easy way to solve this in Funq or do you know of a workaround?

  Hi, i have two applications (server and client), that uses TQuery connected with TClientDataSet through TDCOMConnection, and in some cases clientdataset opens about 300000 records and than application throws exception "Temporary table resource limit". Is there any workaround how to fix this? (except "do not open such huge dataset"?) update: oops i'm sorry there is 300K records, not 3 millions..

• Sharepoint calculated Date field shows incorrectly in non-US region

  If a SharePoint user (with Regional Settings set to UK) views a calculated date field in a View details form, the field shows incorrectly showing the date is in US format, thus 01-Apr-2010 for 03-Jan-2010, and doesnt show unresolvalble dates such as 31-Dec-2010. This applies even with a simnple =[Modified] formula The Server is set up in the US for that locale. Does anyone know of a workaround for this or if there is a patch available ? Thanks in advance..

• Is it possible to port a Windows RT app to a Windows Phone app?

  Just recently released an application to the Windows Store, and I'm wondering if it is possible to "downgrade" it to Windows Phone 7.1 - until Windows Phone 8 will arrive. The real problem is with the async stuff, I've found the "Async Targeting Pack", but it requires Visual Studio 2012; however VS2012 doesn't work with the Phone SDK 7.0, 7.1. I'm not in the mood to install old and ugly Visual Studio 2010 on my brand new Windows 8 machine :) Does anyone know a workaround?

• Expression Blend 3 TFS referesh problem

  When I checkout, checkin, rename soemthing in Vs 2008 SP1 while I have the project open in Expression Blend 3, these changes are not updated in Blend until I close and reopen the solution in blend or I try to checkout/checkin an item that is aready checked out. Is this a known bug? And is there a workaround?
