How do I fix this code so that it is incremented 1500 times?

  I have an view in my App which has a number of buttons based on the number of items returned by the server. So if the server returns say 10 items, there should be 10 buttons and clicking on each button should call a different person.   I am trying to map a normalized Java model to a legacy database schema using Hibernate 3.5. One particular table encodes a foreign keys in a one-to-many relationship as a bit array column. Consider tables 'person' and 'clubs' that describes people's affiliations to clubs: person .----.------. club: .----.---------.---------------------------. | id | name | | id | name | members | binary(members) | |----+------| |----+---------|---------+-----------------| | 1 | Bob | | 10 | Cricket | 0 | 000 | | 2 | Joe | | 11 | Tennis | 5 | 101 | | 3 | Sue | | 12 | Cooking | 7 | 111 | '----'------' | 13 | Golf | 3 | 100 | '----'---------'---------'-----------------' So hopefully it is clear that person.id is used as the bit index in the bit array club.members. In this example the members column tells us that: no one is a member of Cricket, Bob/Sue - Tennis, Bob/Sue/Joe - Cooking and Sue - Golf. In my Java domain I'd like to declare this with entities like so: class Person { private int id; private String name; ... } class Club { private Set<Person> members; private int id; private String name; ... } I am assuming that I must use a UserType implementation but have been unable to find any examples where the items described by the user type are references to entities - not literal field values - or composites thereof. Additionally I am aware that I'll have to consider how the person entities are fetched when a club instance is loaded. Can anyone tell me how I can tame this legacy schema with Hibernate?

• Weird URL parse issue. (Android)

  I am attempting to parse in a URL to a KML file from maps.google.com. When I try and use this link: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=112748174025829638330.000483ad6315714cc941d&z=13&output=kml` I am unable to overlay this KML file on my MapView. If I were to take the KML file that I get from following this link and upload it to my Dropbox it will work just fine. I think there may be something about the URL from Google that it doesn't like? Link from dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1037184/Blue_original.kml Also it would be better if we could just save these KML files locally and pass them in the same way but I can't figure out a way to do this. Here is the code I am using: Intent mapIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); Uri uri1 = Uri.parse("geo:0,0?q=http://code.google.com/apis/kml/ documentation/KML_Samples.kml"); mapIntent.setData(uri1); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(mapIntent, "Test")); The URL used in this example also works.   I have a very simple project that compiles, but can't be started on Emulator. The issue I am experiencing is that the collection is getting populated correctly within the property in the class (FetchAll) but when I pass the collection back to the module (Test) all the entries are populated with the last item in the list. • Capture *all* display-characters in JavaScript?

  I was given an unusual request recently that I'm having the most difficult time addressing that involves capturing all display-characters when typed into a text box. The set up is as follows: I have a text box that has a maxlength of 10 characters. When the user attempts to type more than 10 characters, I need to notify the user that they're typing beyond the character count limit. The simplest solution would be to specify a maxlength of 11, test the length on every keyup, and truncate back down to 10 characters but this solution seems a bit kludgy. What I'd prefer to do is capture the character before keyup and, depending on whether or not it is a display-character, present the notification to the user and prevent the default action. A white-list would be challenging since we handle a lot of international data. I've played around with every combination of keydown, keypress, and keyup, reading event.keyCode, event.charCode, and event.which, but I can't find a single combination that works across all browsers.   While setting up an online file management system, and now I have hit a block. What would be the issue here? It's definitely not the time limit of any kind because I am working on a local network and speed is not an issue. The memory limit in PHP is set to 300 MB.   Hey! Basically I have a problem in that when certain parameters are used in my calculator app - it makes the result incorrect. The issue is that I have separate text fields for hours and minutes and say for example I have as the start time "13" in one text field and "30" in the other with the finish time "24" and "00" in their respective text fields. The answer should be 10 hours 30 minutes, but the answer I get is 11 hours 30 minutes. Am I doing something wrong somewhere in between? I have the feeling that I yet didn't really understand how to load and save settings persistent for a certain application on the iPhone. • Why is iPdb not displaying STOUT after my input?

  I can't figure out why ipdb is not displaying stout properly. I'm trying to debug why a test is failing and so I attempt to use ipdb debugger. For some reason my Input seems to be accepted, but the STOUT is not displayed until I (c)ontinue. Is this something broken in ipdb? It makes it very difficult to debug a program. • iPhone: understanding field crash reports: unrecognized selector?

  Hi all, A user of my app out in the field seems to having bad crash-at-app-start issues. I got him to send me the .crash files from his PC. After "symbolicating" them according to this article, I get what looks from the stack like a unrecognized selector fail. But the top line of code corresponding to my process is an unambiguous message send that gets executed hundreds of times without issue in my app normally. Needless to say, I never repro this issue myself. Can the crash report lie? Could this stack indicate anything besides unrecognized selector? Thanks for any insight. Object_Pointer ist definied as access all Object. From my understanding the type Object is Node, therefore Object_Ptr is access all Node. What is gnat complaining about? I guess my understanding of Ada generics is flawed and I am not using System.Address_To_Access_Conversions correctly. EDIT: I compiled my code with "gnatmake -gnatG" to see the generic instantiation: package address_node is subtype btree__clear__address_node__object__2 is btree__node; type btree__clear__address_node__object_pointer__2 is access all btree__clear__address_node__object__2; function to_address (value : btree__clear__address_node__object_pointer__2) return system__address; end address_node; btree__node is the mangled name of the type Node as defined above, so I really think the parameter type for to_address() is correct, yet gnat is complaining (see above).

• Ruby: what is the pitfall in this simple code excerpt that tests variable existence

  I'm starting with Ruby, and while making some test samples, I've stumbled against an error in the code that I don't understand why it happens. The code pretends to tests if a variable finn is defined?() and if it is defined, then it increments it. If it isn't defined, then it will define it with value 0 (zero). As the code threw an error, I started to decompose it in small pieces and run it, to better trace where the error was comming from. The code was run in IRB irb 0.9.5(05/04/13), using ruby 1.9.1p378 First I certify that the variable finn is not yet defined, and all is ok: ?> finn NameError: undefined local variable or method `finn' for main:Object from (irb):134 from /home/paulo/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.1-p378/bin/irb:15:in `<main>' >> Then I certify that the following inline-condition executes as expected, and all is ok: ?> ((defined?(finn)) ? The first filter (video in this case) is in effect, but the dropdown to select the other type never shows. Is there something extra that is needed to get this working on OSX? I have tried the latest firefox (3.6) and an older one (3.0.13) and both don't show the file type dropdown on OSX.

  Hi all, I have a simple email sender for user account activation. Depending on which email address I use, I get significantly different response times: University email - 1 minute, Gmail - 3-4 hours, Yahoo - 1 or 2 days -- which seems bizarre. Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? EDIT: There weren't many responses (even for a bounty), but I'll try to explain my problem more clearly. This probably isn't greylsting -- If I so a simple: php mail ($to, $subject, $body) // this delivers instantly. So I don't believe this is caused by the application. I guess that when the phone is not restarted for some time there are applications running in the background and when using Facebook SDK the memory becomes a problem and the system tries to recover the memory from random applications, including my application. My question is, how can I prevent this crash from happening? How should I handle unloadViewForced on a view controller to make the app more robust in low-memory conditions? And lastly, am I right that this crashlog suggests the crash occurred because the system tried to free memory and my application didn't handle it properly? Any help greatly appreciated.

  Here it's the story... we have a Github account. I clone the repository ... then I can work with it, commit things, push things, etc ... I use Linux with command line and git version 1.7.7.3 Then other user, using Eclipse and git plugin for eclipse eGit 1.1.0 pushes something, and it appears in the github web pages as the last commit, but when I try to pull: $ git pull remote: Counting objects: 13, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (6/6), done. remote: Total 9 (delta 2), reused 7 (delta 0) Unpacking objects: 100% (9/9), done. error: unable to find 3e6c5386cab0c605877f296642d5183f582964b6 fatal: object 3e6c5386cab0c605877f296642d5183f582964b6 not found "3e6c5386cab0c605877f296642d5183f582964b6" is the commit hash of the last commit, done by the other user ... there's no problem at all to browse it through web page ... but for me it's impossible to pull it. It's strange, because my command line output tells about that commit hash, so it knows that one is the last one commit in the github system, but my git can not pull it ! Maybe the git protocol used in eGit is incompatible with the console git 1.7.7.3...
