• Missing on-screen keyboard for Flash/Flex web application on Android?

  I have an enterprise Flex web application, served up over https, that runs fine on Flash player 10.0 and beyond from a desktop computer/browser. However, when I run it from my HTC Incredible with Android 2.2 the app loads fine, but there is no on-screen keyboard and so I cannot log in. I can see the blinking cursor inside the username and password text fields. I can switch between them. I can even hit the login button and see an authentication error! According to Adobe this should Just Work. Any ideas? I wanna show off our spanking new app to strangers at the bus stop!

• preg_match basics question.

  Hi all. Got some trouble with my preg_match. The code. $text = 'tel: 012 213 123. mobil: 0303 11234'; $regex_string = '/(tel|Tel|TEL)[\s|:]+(.+)[\.|\n]/'; preg_match($regex_string , $text, $match); And I get this result in $match[2] "012 213 123. mobil: 023 123 123" First question. I want the regex to stop at the .(dot) but it doesent. Can someone explain to why it isnt? Second question. preg_match uses () to get their match. Is it possible to skip the parentheses surrounding the different "Tel" and still get the same functionality? Thnx all stackoverflow is great :D

  I am making an linux system following the procedure in lfs. But while i was following the fifth step(i.e. the one before make) on this page, i get an error at the last. configure: error: linker with -z relro support required Now after this if i call make i get an error make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. I am running this on a ubuntu 12.04 machine. How to fix this error?

• Practical Python-based visual programming environment?

  I am looking for a practical visual programming environment based on Python. My primary application is algorithm development for processing remote-sensing imagery. I was initially inspired by LabVIEW from National Instruments, but that is more geared towards laboratory measurements and simulations. I write a lot of prototype code in Python and do a lot of interactive analysis with IPython. Does there exist a visual framework where a "program" is represented by connected nodes which each read data, do some work, and output data to the next node? I would like to use Python to write the code residing in each node. So far the best I've seen is Orange http://www.ailab.si/orange/, but it does not have the ability to start/stop individual nodes.

• Mouseup not working after mousemove on img

  I'm trying to do a simple drag script. The idea is to save the position when the mouse is down, update the view while the mouse is moving, and stop when mouse is up. Problem, mouseup event isn't working properly. • Keep TabItems in a TabControl from repositioning?

  Hi everyone, In WPF, Is there a simple way to stop TabItems in a TabControl from being repositioned when the selected TabItem changes? So that clicking on a TabItem would simply display its contents, but not reposition the TabItems as it usually does (by moving the selected TabItem to the bottom row of tabs if it wasn't there already). Edit: To clarify, I do want the tabs to be displayed in multiple rows, I just don't want the tab headers to be repositioned when a TabItem from a row other than the bottom row is selected. I'd like the collection of headers to remain completely static, but for the contents of that TabItem to still be displayed when its header is clicked. Thanks!

  Hey Few Questions 1.Is it legal to have an IFrame on a website which inside has an external website? 2.In an IFrame is it possible to only show a section of the src that isnt the top left of the site (for instance if there was a chart in the middle of a website, could u have just the chart in your Iframe, or atleast start it centred there) 3.Any way to stop my IFrame from auto redirecting me to the external site for 3: ie <iframe src="http://fifa.com"></iframe> Just sends me to fifa instead of actually showing that site in a frame.

• Reading and writing to SysV shared memory without synchronization (use of semaphores, C/C++, Linux)

  Hi, I use SysV shared memory to let two processes communicate with each other. I do not want the code to become to complex so I wondered if I really had to use semaphores to synchronize the access to the shared memory. In my C/C++ program the parent process reads from the shared memory and the child process writes to the shared memory. I wrote two test applications to see if I could produce some kind of error like a segmentation fault, but I couldn't (Ubuntu 10.04 64bit). Even two processes writing non stop in a while loop to the same shared memory did not produce any error. I hope someone has experience concerning this matter and can tell me if I really must use semaphores to synchronize the access or if I am OK without synchronization. Thanks

  I have a NSTextField Label that has attributed text in it. The color and size are different from the defaults. (The text is a bit larger and green) Now, I need to be able to select the text in the label so as the click the hyperlinks embedded in the attributed text. This works fine; however, when selecting the text the format of the text reverts back to the defaults (a smaller, black font). Is there anyway to stop this behavior so that my styling is preserved when the user clicks (selects text) on a Label?

• Storing users in a database

  Im wondering whats the best way of storing different types of users in my database. I am writing an application that has 4 main user types (admin, school, teacher, student). At the moment I have a table for each of these but i'm not sure thats the best way of storing user information. For instance... Allowing students to PM other student is simple (store sender and receiver student_id) but enabling teachers to PM students requires another table (sender teacher_id, sender student_id). Should all users be stored in one users table with a user_type field? If so, the teacher / student specific information will still have to be stored in another table. users user_id, password_hash, user_type students user_id, student_specific_stuff... teachers user_id, teacher_specific_stuff... How do I stop a user who has a user_type = student from being accidentally being entered into the teachers table (as both have a user_id) Just want to make sure I get the database correct before i go any further. • Switching layouts page jumping (improvement to script)

  Hello, I'm using this script to switch layouts in a page: $("span.switcher").click(function () { $("span.switcher").toggleClass("swap"); /*!*/ $("ol.search-results").fadeOut("fast", function() { $(this).fadeIn("fast").toggleClass("grid"); }); The script works fine, the problem I have is that if the switch view is down the page, the layout changes and then the page jumps back up. If I add 'return false' right where you see the /* ! */ in the second line the script doesn't work. Also, as you can see, I'm using < span instead of < a since I was told that using other element other than < a would stop the page from jumping. Any idea how to fix the jumping of the page? Thanks.

  In Visual basic 6, i declare a sub like this: Private Sub test1(ByRef XmlFooOutput As String) ... End Sub after that, i declare another sub like the following one: Private Sub test2(ByRef xmlFooOutput As String) ... End Sub automagically, the first method is transformed in: Private Sub test1(ByVal xmlFooOutput As String) ... End Sub so the XmlFooOutput parameter is transformed in xmlFooOutput. This is a pretty dangerous feature because, method like those could be mapped to different XSL presentation files that read XML values through Xpath. So when test1 parameter is renamed, XSL bound to test1 method goes broken because Xpath point to XmlFooOuput but the correct value is now in xmlFooOutput. Is it possible to remove this weird feature? I'm using microsoft visual basic 6.0 (SP6). • I need to debug my BrowserHelperObject (BHO) (in C++ with Visual Studio 2008) after a internet explo

  Hi, here is the situation, i'm developping a Browser Helper Object (BHO) in C++ with Visual Studio 2008, and i learned that the memory wasn't managed the same way in Debug mode than in Release mode. So when i run my BHO in debug mode, internet explorer 8 works just fine and i got no erros at all, the browser stays alive forever, but as soon as i compile it in release mode, i got no errors, no message, nothing, but after 5 minutes i can see through the task manager that internet explorer instances are just eating memory and then the browser just stop responding every time. Please, I really need some hint on how to get a feedback on what could be the error. I heard that, often it was happening because of memory mismanagement. I need a software that just grab a memory dump or something when iexplorer crashes to help me find the problem. Any help is appreciated, I'll be looking for responses every single days, thank you.

• Best way to daemonize Java application on Linux

I'm not looking to use any external wrapper, as I found them launching the java process under a nice level lower then themselves which potentially lowers the performance, so it seems only the shell methods are left.   I'm confused about the Emacs indentation paradigm. I have this in my .emacs file: (setq-default tab-width 4) If I press TAB in the following situation <ul> (caret) </ul> it end up like this <ul> (caret) </ul> (with 2 spaces indentation between the HTML tags.) It should end up like this: <ul> (caret) </ul> I tried everything: (setq-default tab-width 4) (setq-default indent-tabs-mode t) (setq tab-stop-list '(4 8 12 16)) I've set every possible Emacs setting about indentation to 4 but that 2 space indentation is still there. Any suggestions?

  I have come across an interesting situation. A coworker committed some changes, which would not compile on my machine neither from the IDE (Eclipse) nor from a command line (Maven). The problem manifested in the compilation process taking 100% CPU and only killing the process would help to stop it. After some analysis the cause of the problem was located and resolved. It turned out be a line "double d = 2.2250738585072012e-308" (without semicolon at the end) in one of the interfaces. The following snipped duplicates it. public class WeirdCompilationIssue { double d = 2.2250738585072012e-308 } Why would compiler hang? A language edge case?

• Flickering when repainting a JPanel inside a JScrollPAne

  I'm having a problem with repainting a JPanel inside a JScrollPane. Basically, I'm just trying to 'wrap' my existing EditPanel (it originally extended JPanel) into a JScrollPane. It seems that the JPanel updates too often (mass flickering). How would I stop this from happening? I tried using the setIgnoreRepaint() but it didn't seem to do anything. Will this current implementation work or would I need to create another inner class to fine-tune the JPanel I'm using to display graphics?
