    Hi, I am running a plugin called Category Posts Widget for WordPress: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/category-posts/ It uses a while loop to display the names of all posts in a certain category. I want to get it so that there is a different class attached to the li tag on every second output.   • Extracting email addresses in an html block in ruby/rails

    I am creating a parser that wards off against spamming and harvesting of emails from a block of text that comes from tinyMCE (so it may or may not have html tags in it) I've tried regexes and so far this has been successful: /\b[A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}\b/i problem is, i need to ignore all email addresses with mailto hrefs. for example: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> should only return the second email add. To get a background of what im doing, im reversing the email addresses in a block so the above example would look like this: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">moc.liam@tset</a> problem with my current regex is that it also replaces the one in href. Is there a way for me to do this with a single regex? Or do i have to check for one then the other? Is there a way for me to do this just by using gsub or do I have to use some nokogiri/hpricot magicks and whatnot to parse the mailtos? Thanks in advance!     I'm working on a php web api that was handed to me with a lot of code that needs to be refactored. The ones that wrote the code wanted to include a static configuration class to an api resource and then get an instance of that class something like this: <?php $obj = "User"; $confObjectSuffix = "_conf"; $confObject = $obj.$confObjectSuffix; if ($confObject::inst()->checkMethod($method)) { ..... This gives the error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in ....." since $confObject is a string and not a object.   • How to run R through PHP with exec?

    I am going to ask something, that I know that it has been asked already some times. But since, all of the past posts are quite old and none of them answer my problem..I try again. I am completely new in R language and relative new in php. What I want to do is to use the exec() function from php in order to execute a R script. Most of the people here will start talking about rapache, rserve and I don't know what else..but since I am not familiar with all these technologies, I prefer just using exec. The code I will show here is working just fine when I run it with Rscript from the terminal. # R script png("temp.png") plot(5,5) dev.off() But when I try to run it either with Rscript or with R CMD BATCH from PHP, like this: echo exec("Rscript my_rscript.R"); //OR //echo exec("R CMD BATCH my_rscript.R"); I get nothing back. I have checked if exec() function is available and if it works. Everything is ok with this. I read also, that I might have to change the permissions of the webserver...but I don't know how to do this in mamp. I hope I am clear with my problem and someone can help. Thanks Dimitris

    For smarty's html_options function, is there a way to avoid having to do this (other than not using smarty that is)? {if $smarty.post} {html_options name=option_1 optins=$options selected=$smarty.post.option_1} {else} {html_options name=option_1 optins=$options} {/if} I realize that it won't show up in the template, but it seems like a bad practice to leave something that is not defined in the template (it also fills up my error logs with noise about undefined indexes).

  • C# HTML tags inside GridView

    I have a SharePoint web part that I wrote in C# which is used to display SQL Server data based on user selections. I pull the data with a DataReader, fill a DataSet with it, and set that DataSet as the DataSource in a GridView and add that control to my page. The only problem I'm facing is that line breaks in the data fields are not being rendered at all. I'm simply getting a block of text that ignores the breaks that are present in the database when it's rendered to HTML. I tried a regex: Regex rgx = new Regex("\n"); string inputStr = Convert.ToString(dr[x]); string outputStr = rgx.Replace(inputStr, "<br />"); newRow[ds3.Tables["Bobst Specs 3"].Columns[x]] = outputStr; While that does detect and replace the newlines, I merely get the text "" with no line breaks. I also tried changing my SQL query to something along the lines of: SELECT REPLACE (fldCustomerName, '. ', '.' + @NewLineChar) This apparently renders more newlines. I can see that they are present, because if I also insert the regex they are affected, but do not create line breaks. I'm not sure how to replace these, and what with, to get the lines to actually break.

  • PHP Json Encoding w/ quote escaping in 5.2?

    I'm playing with the flickr api and php. I want to pass some information from PHP to Javascript through Ajax. I have the following code: json_encode($pics); which results in the following example JSON string: [{"id":"4363603591","title":"blue, white and red...another seattle view","date_faved":"1266379499"},{"id":"4004908219","title":"\u201cI just told you my dreams and you made me see that I could walk into the sun and I could still be me and now I can't deny nothing lasts forever.\u201d","date_faved":"1259987670"}] Javascript has problems with this, however, due to the unescaped single-quote in the second item ("can't deny"). I want to use the function json_encode with the options parameter to make it strip the quotes, but that's only available in PHP 5.3, and I'm running 5.2 (not my server). Is there a fast way to run through the entire array and escape everything before encoding it in Json? I looked for a way to do this, but it all seems to deal with encoding it as the data is generated, something I cannot do as I'm not the one generating the data. If it helps, I'm currently using the following javascript after the ajax request: var photos = eval('(' + resptxt + ')');

I'm very new to PHP with nearly 0 knowledge and have no idea how to add something like that. I did have a go at making a new variable with the string inside and then include that in the: mail($recipient, $subject, $formcontent, $mailheader) or die("Error!"); line but with no success.   • Make page to tell browser not to cache/preserve input values

    Most browser cache form input values. So when user refreshes page, the inputs have same values. Here's my problem. When user clicks Save, server validates POSTed data (e.g. checked products), and if not valid, sends it back to browser. However, as stated above, even if server clears selection for some values, they may still be selected because of browser cache! My data has invisible (until parent item selected) checkboxes, so user may be even not aware that some previous value is still selected, until clicks Save again and gets error message - even though user thinks it's not. Which is irritating. This can be resolved by doing Ctrl-F5, but it's not even a solution.Is there automatic/programmatic way to tell browser not to cache form input data on some form/page?

  • How to persist objects between requests in PHP

    I've been using rails, merb, django and asp.net mvc applications in the past. What they have common (that is relevant to the question) is that they have code that sets up the framework. This usually means creating objects and state that is persisted until the web server is recycled (like setting up routing, or checking which controllers are available, etc). As far as I know PHP is more like a CGI script that gets compiled to some bytecode each time it's run, and after the request it's discarded. Of course you can have sessions, to persist data between requests from the same user, and as I see there are extensions like APC, with which you can persist objects between requests at the server level. My question is: how can one create a PHP application that works like rails and such? I mean an application that on the first requests sets up the framework, then on the 2nd and later requests use the objects that are already set up. Is there some built in caching facility in mod_php? (for example that stores the compiled bytecode of the executed php applications) Or is using APC or some similar extensions the only way to solve this problem? How would you do it? Thanks.

    i have to design a form with an input inside it. i use background image on the input so it would look like a button. so every time somebody click it, then it would send $POST, a behavior i want to achieve. But the problem is about the outline around the form. The outline show when we click the form. It's minor, but it would be great to make the form (or input) lost it outline. i test it using Firefox 3.6 and flock. Both of them show the outline behavior that i want to avoid

I didn't understand what causing this error. i checked char encoding etc etc. everything.. I have seen in http://web-sniffer.net/ , it seems server sending that response for netscape/mozilla browsers.   • Detecting what changed in an HTML Textfield

    For a major school project I am implementing a real-time collaborative editor. For a little background, basically what this means is that two(or more) users can type into a document at the same time, and their changes are automatically propagated to one another (similar to Etherpad). Now my problem is as follows: I want to be able to detect what changes a user carried out onto an HTML textfield. They could: Insert a character Delete a character Paste a string of characters Cut a string of characters I want to be able to detect which of these changes happened and then notify other clients similar to "insert character 'c' at position 2" etc. Anyway I was hoping to get some advice on how I would go about implementing the detection of these changes? My first attempt was to consider the carot position before and after a change occurred, but this failed miserably. For my second attempt I was thinking about doing a diff on the entire contents of the textfields old and new value. Am I missing anything obvious with this solution? Is there something simpler?

    I'm trying to generate a table of contents from a block of HTML (not a complete file - just content) based on its <h2> and <h3> tags. My plan so far was to: Extract a list of headers using beautifulsoup Use a regex on the content to place anchor links before/inside the header tags (so the user can click on the table of contents) -- There might be a method for replacing inside beautifulsoup? Output a nested list of links to the headers in a predefined spot. It sounds easy when I say it like that, but it's proving to be a bit of a pain in the rear. Is there something out there that does all this for me in one go so I don't waste the next couple of hours reinventing the wheel? A example: <p>This is an introduction</p> <h2>This is a sub-header</h2> <p>...</p> <h3>This is a sub-sub-header</h3> <p>...</p> <h2>This is a sub-header</h2> <p>...</p>
