  • URL Routing with WebForms, what to do with additional querystrings like page number, filter, etc?

    I am switching from Intelligencia's UrlRewriter to the new web forms routing in ASP.NET 4.0. I have it working great for basic pages, however, in my e-commerce site, when browsing category pages, I previously used querystrings that were built into my pager control to control paging. An old url (with UrlRewriting) would be: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17 I have a MapPageRoute defined in global.asax as: routes.MapPageRoute("category-browse", "Category/{name}_{id}", ~/CategoryPage.aspx"); This works great. Now, somebody clicks to go to page 2. Previously I would have just tacked on ?page=2 as the querystring. Now, How do I handle this using web forms routing? I know I can do something like: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17/page/2 But in addition to page, I can have filters, age ranges, gender, etc. Should I just keep defining routes that handle these variables, or should I continue using querystrings and can I define a route that allows me to use my querstrings like before?

  • Personalization in ASP.Net MVC -- friendly URLs, and skinning

    Hi everyone, I haven't delved into custom generation of friendly URLs in ASP.Net MVC, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions. For example, if John Smith were to create an account on www.example.com, I'd like for his homepage to read www.example.com/JohnSmith -- along with the option for him to choose his URL. The ideal is for this to happen with no intervention on my part in the route maps. Also, does anyone have guidelines on good ways to go to customize an MVC site based on URL? Again, using example.com I'd like for John to choose a color theme and logo for his homepage, then apply it accordingly. Thanks for your tips and suggestions.

  • How can I change from docbook to restructuredText?

    I have a 30-ish page manual in docbook. However, working with docbook is so painful that I don't really update it. I want to switch to restructedText instead. I can't find any direct translator (the best I could find is ezComponents, but it fails on the docbook sgml). Maybe there is an indirect route through RTF or some other format, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? PS The current conversion process is: docbook -> jade -> html docbook -> jade -> tex -> pdflatex -> pdf

  • Mergesort : Revision

    Does merge sort work by; taking a list of values splitting it in to two take the first element of each list, the lowest value one goes in to a new list(and i guess removed from the original). comare the next two numbers - do this until one list is empty, then place the rest of the other list at the end ofthe nw list?     In reviewing: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/graphics/Canvas.html I'm wondering translate(): "preconcat the current matrix with the specified translation" -- what does this mean? I can't find a good definition of "preconcat" anywhere on the internet! The only place I can find it is in the Android Source - I'm starting to wonder if they made it up? :) I'm familiar with "concat" or concatenate, which is to append to, so what is a pre-concat?

    I would like to setup a fault-tolerant web-service. I will build the web-service with Erlang/OTP. At the beginning the web-service will be hosted on a few VPS. Each VPS has its own IP-address, and I can use more if IPs if I need. I would like to have the domain name pointing to a single IP-address. How can setup my Erlang/OTP-application to be fault-tolerant behind a single IP-address? Do I need to use VLAN? Is there a way my Erlang/OTP-application can use heartbeats and handle virtual IP-addresses to route the traffic? or how should I solve this problem?

    Alright, PHP is throwing this error at me (in the log) when I run the code mentioned below: Error mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, string given in (place) on line 10 Line 9-11 $queryFP = ("SELECT * FROM db"); $countFP = mysql_num_rows($queryFP); $aID = rand(1, $countFP); I think it has something to do with the $queryFP's syntax, but I'm not completely sure how to fix it since $queryFP's syntax is the simplest query I've ever seen.

  • Cisco ASA: Allowing and Denying VPN Access based on membership to an AD group

    I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connecting to an Active Directory server for VPN authentication. Usually we'd restrict this to a particular OU, but in this case users which need access are spread across multiple OUs. So, I'd like to use a group to specify which users have remote access. I've created the group and added the users, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deny users which aren't in that group. Right now, if someone connects they get assigned the correct group policy "companynamera" if they are in that group, so the LDAP mapping is working. However, users who are not in that group still authenticate fine, and their group policy becomes the LDAP path of their first group, i.e. CN=Domain Users,CN=Users,DC=example,DC=com, and then are still allowed access. How do I add a filter so that I can map everything that isn't "companynamera" to no access?   • CentOS Client - Unable to Establish iSCSI connection with multiple interfaces on the initiator

    So after upgrading to CentOS 6.2, I am seemingly no longer able to login into my iSCSI targets. I have multiple interfaces on different subnets on the system, and I first thought that it had to do with the fact that I may not be binding correct interfaces, which seems to be the case when looking at netstat, as this is clearly wrong: [root]? netstat -na|grep .90 tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:42354 10.10.8.90:3260 SYN_SENT tcp 0 1 10.10.100.60:40777 10.10.9.90:3260 SYN_SENT I then went ahead and disabled all but one interface, and so as a result netstat appears to be correct, but the issue with login remains. I know the problem is on my client, because the target is servicing multiple systems, none of which are CentOS 6.2. At this point I am pretty confident that some things changed between CentOS 6.0/6.1 and 6.2. So, if anyone have any thoughts, or ran into this, I would very much like to hear your thoughts. I went a few weeks back and grabbed a snapshot of this system from before upgrading to 6.2. I spun up a new system from the snapshot, and reconfigured interface info and host keys, as well as iSCSI initiator and iscsi interface info to match new MACs. Changed nothing else. Then, I attempted to connect to my targets, and no issues at all. I cannot say that this was unexpected. I then went ahead and compared sysctl settings from both systems and there were differences after the upgrade, but nothing seemingly relevant to iSCSI or IP that could contribute to this. I also noticed that by default now two sessions per connection were enabled after the upgrade, but I changed it back to 1 session in /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf. On the problematic system we can see that source interface is seemingly wrong, but even when I disable the 10.10.100 interface, problems persist. So, while this may be relevant, I could not validate it for certain. Needless to say, further research is necessary. Something is clearly different between releases. It is quite obscure and I doubt this will happen to anyone else any time soon. It turns out that setting iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress in the interfaces configuration file is not legal. When one manually adds an iscsi target, such as below, all settings from the interface config file are copied into the node config file, that gets created by the below command. Result is parameters iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress together in the same config file. These parameters are seemingly mutually exclusive, which does not exactly make sense, or there is perhaps an oversight in the codepath.   • Way to turn on keyboard's caps-lock light without actually turning on caps-lock?

    I'm writing a program that uses caps-lock as a toggle switch. It would be nice to set the LED of the key to show that my program is on or off, like the capslock key does naturally. I know that I could just SendInput('Capslock'); or whatever to actually turn caps-lock on and off. But my app is a typing program, and I don't want to have to deal with translating the all-caps keys that turning it on would give me into their lower/upper cases. I might go that route eventually, but not for this version. I would however be interested in just turning on the LED light WITHOUT actually turning on caps-lock. Is there any way to do that? Thank you.

    Hi, I am using the framework of route-me for working with locations. In this code the path between two markers(points) will be drawn as a line.     Which is the best way to manage a website with one or more mirrors so that: Google don't consider it as "dupicated content" The website is correctly indexed No inconsistencies or duplicated information are present in Google Analytics The Google webmaster guidelines in general are respected NOTE: I'm not sure if I should ask this question here or in ServerFault.     I have a large website in development with a large amount of JS in different files. I have come across an issue where something is removing a class from the DOM. I can see it when I view source but not in Firebug. Normally I would place some alerts/console.log calls with the hasClass value but because I have no idea where to start I wanted to know if I can trace the change back when it occurs somehow? Denis

  • Is it possible to tell IIS 7 to process the request queue in parallel?

    Currently we are developing an ASMX, ASP 2.0, IIS 7 web service that does some calculations (and return a dynamically generated document) and will take approx. 60 seconds to run. Since whe have a big machine with multiple cores and lots of RAM, I expected that IIS tries its best to route the requests that arrive in its requests queue to all available threads of the app pool's thread pool. But we experience quiet the opposite: When we issue requests to the ASMX web service URL from multiple different clients, the IIS seems to serially process these requests. I.e. request 1 arrives, is being processed, then request 2 is being processed, then request 3, etc. Question: Is it possible (without changing the C# code of the web service) to configure IIS to process requests in parallel, if enough threads are available? If yes: how should I do it? It no: any workarounds/tips? Thanks Uwe

The reason for this is the following i have one tabcontrol and one image above it and i want the headers to be on the image.. so my idear was to write a value converter that can convert a tabcontrol to a Thickness.. and by using this i would be able to place the headers on top of the image...
