  I am looking for a syntax definition, example, sample code, wiki, etc. for executing a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE command from python. I believe I can use mysqlimport as well if that is available, so any feedback (and code snippet) on which is the better route, is welcome. • How do I set default host for url helpers in rails?

  I would like to do something like this config.default_host = 'www.subdomain.example.com' in some of my configuration files, so that object_url helpers produce link beginning with http://www.subdomain.example.com I have tried to search the docs but I did not find anytnig exept ActionMailer docs and http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/Rails/Configuration.html which is not usefull for me, because I do not know in which pat to look. • Java 2D turn-based game programming: handle 2 mouse clicks per player

  So suppose I'm developing a chess-like program using Java's Swing. I added a MouseListener to handle user input. To make a move the user must click a valid piece and then click a valid place. What's the best way to track the 2 mouse clicks in a turn? I'm thinking in use some kind of variable to record if is the turn's first click or second.

  About a month ago I saw a portfolio website in Flash that featured a stack of cards, and each time you clicked on it, they sort of blew all over the place, thus exposing the backs as videos and pictures. Although I could easily take a bunch of 3D planes and tween them to turn and flip, these cards actually seemed to 'bend'. How is this effect achieved? Sorry I don't have the link to the example. • Can a memory page be moved by modifying the page table?

  Is it possible (on any reasonable OS, preferably Linux) to swap the contents of two memory pages by only modifying the page table and not actually moving any data? The motivation is a dense matrix transpose. If the data were blocked by page size it would be possible to transpose the data within a page (fits in cache) then swap pages to move the blocks into their final place. A large matrix would have many many pages moved, so hopefully flushing the TLB wouldn't cause trouble.

  I will have one streaming-server (W2k8, unknown streaming protocol [rtsp, mss, http]) and half dozen streaming-servers as proxies to save bandwidth. I have read the documentation and installed the modules, but I am unsure how I have to configure the proxy's according to http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ee126142(en-us,WS.10).aspx - as a proxy or reverse proxy and how I minimize the bandwidth needs between origin server and proxy's. What is the best way to realize my setup? Any short how-tos? How can I announce all players to use the proxy? Route all rtsp/mms/http-requests through my proxy? Announce the proxy with DHCP-releases?   Afternoon, Bit of a tricky question this one, I have a website and need to translate the pages into french, I am using google translate API to do the translation. What I am doing is loading in the HTML templates into a string using PHP and then need to translate the text copy on the pages and then save as for example: fr_master_header.html de_master_header.html The problem I have is identifying the text copy on the page ignoring the HTML, replacing the copy in the extact place and then saving the file with the HTML tags and trasnlated text copy.   I am about to finish my B.Sc. in Applied Math. I started out in CS a few years back had a bit of a change of heart and decided to go the math route. Now that I am looking for career options finishing up and I'm just wonder how my Applied Math degree will look when applying for programming jobs. I have taken CS courses in C++/Java/C and done 2 semester of Scientific Computing with MATLAB/Mathematica and the like, so I feel like i at least know how to program. • Rails 3.1 assets not recognizing new images uploaded by rmagick until server restart

  I have my Rails 3.1.0 application running with passenger in production environment and I have a section where the application allows the user to change his profile picture so I upload the image using an ajax uploader and in my controller I upload the file and generate different sizes for the image with rmagick then I render the new image with an image_tag but the application won't show the image till I restart the server. What I get is No route matches [GET] "assets/path/to/image.png" If I restart the server It will show the image, but obviously I can't be restarting the server every once a user uploads a new image. How can I solve the keeping the assets working the right way?

• Processing potentially large STDIN data, more than once

  I'd like to provide an accessor on a class that provides an NSInputStream for STDIN, which may be several hundred megabytes (or gigabytes, though unlikely, perhaps) of data. When I caller gets this NSInputStream it should be able to read from it without worrying about exhausting the data it contains. In other words, another block of code may request the NSInputStream and will expect to be able to read from it. Without first copying all of the data into an NSData object which (I assume) would cause memory exhaustion, what are my options for handling this? The returned NSInputStream does not have to be the same instance, it simply needs to provide the same data. The best I can come up with right now is to copy STDIN to a temporary file and then return NSInputStream instances using that file. Is this pretty much the only way to handle it? Is there anything I should be cautious of if I go the temporary file route?

• Multiple merchant accounts with Activemerchant gem.

  I am developing a rails site that will allow a group of merchants (5 - 10) to accept credit card orders online. I plan on using the Activemerchant gem to handle the processing. In this case, each merchant will have their own merchant accounts to handle the payments. Storing banking information like that is not something I am a fan of. This could be solved by queing orders and allowing the merchant to log in to the site, input their credentials and process the order. However, if I go that route then it seems to me that I would have to store the customers' credit card information temporarily until the merchant has the opportunity to log in and process the order, which to me is the greater evil. Has anyone dealt with this situation? If so, what are the options available and what pitfalls should I look out for? In my mind, security customer credit card information is priority number one with the merchant account information a close second.
