  • Use the serialVersionUID or suppress warnings?

    Dear all, first thing to note is the serialVersionUID of a class implementing Interface Serializable is not in question. What if we create a class that for example extends HttpServlet? It also should have a serialVersionUID. If someone knows that this object will never be serialized should he define it or add an annotation to suppress those warnings? What would you do and why?     I have a static method [Method1] in my class, which calls another method [Method2] in the same class and is not a static method. But this is a no-no. I get this error: An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property "ClassName.MethodName()" Can someone please briefly describe why? including other things that might be related to this.

    I know that I can't use that myView.frame.origin.x = 25.0; that I have to use instead CGRect myFrame = myView.frame; myFrame.origin.x = 25.0; myView.frame = myFrame; And I'm doing it all the time (f.e. in animations), but I don't know why I must do it that way. I have a detail section that has the list of all items followed by a column footer which has Totals, Tax etc., and then the return policy in the Summary section. I want to always ensure that the detail is followed by column footer followed by summary bands. How can we ensure this? I found that sometimes the Summary comes before the Column footer.     I've got a problem with CKEditor. Especially the br- and img-Tags are transformed to not be valid. In the source-view I see and but when I inspect the rte-source the slashes are gone as well as when submitting the form. Can someone tell me where I can disable this or enable XHTML-conformity?
