    base class: Class List(Of T) Function Contains(ByVal value As T) As Boolean derived class: Class Bar : List(Of Exception) ' Exception type as example ' Function Contains(Of U)(ByVal value As U) As Boolean compiler tells me that that two are the same, so I need to declare Overloads/new this second function. But I want use U to differentiate the type (one logic) like NullReferenceException, ArgumentNull Exception, etc. but want to leave the base function(no differentiation by type - other logic) as well.

  • Best practice for error handling in an Android Service

    I have an Android Service that does some background processing on an image using a separate Thread. If an error occurs in this Service or even worse in the thread, what is the best practice to inform the launching Activity of the problem and allow the application to recover to a stable state (i.e. the state it was in before launching the service). From within the Service I could post a Toast or a Notification, but that doesn't help me. I would like to inform the user about the problem but at the same time recover the application to a stable state.

  • How do I disable zoom on control-scroll in Visual Studio 2010?

    Visual Studio 2010 adds a zoom setting on the bottom left of the text editor (to the left of the horizontal scroll bar) and also adopts the control + mouse scroll idiom for zooming in and out. The former is fine, but I dislike the latter as I am occasionally still holding control when I start scrolling my source code (which results in the text size radically changing and completely throwing me off whatever I was doing). How do I disable it?

  • VWD 2008 Express : where can i set absolute positioning as a default?

    So when I used Visual Web Developer 2005 Express edition, in the ribbon there was a menu option for "Layout", which you could go through and select positioning and set absolute to default. I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express now, and I see that you can select format from the menu bar, and set position absolute, for each individual control that you add to the design surface, but is there a place I can just set absolute as the default, like in 2005?   • C++: Unknown pointer size when forward declaring (error C2036)

    In a header file, I have forward declared two members of a namespace: namespace Foo { struct Odp typedef std::vector<Odp> ODPVEC; }; class Bar { public: Foo::ODPVEC baz; // C2036 }; The error generated by the compiler is: error C2036: 'Foo::Odp *': unknown size I'm guessing this is an issue with forward declaring Odp. How can I get around this?

It works fine if I copy and paste this directly into the web browser, however if I call it through flash, the address bar would end up like this: something.php?title=?? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi All, I am using autocomplete with scrollbar for my textbox. Autocomplete for touch screen. I can scroll up and down using the mouse wheel but i want to Use the mouse button to scroll up or down by dragging the scroll bar. if i use mouse button it moves the focus away from the text box field. Autocomplete is working only when using the keyboard not with the user defined keys. Geetha
