  • How to play sound automatically when scrolling to the next page?

    I'm using Page Control example from Apple. I want to be able to scroll horizontally to certain page and get the sound automatically play when viewing that page? And then sound stop when viewing the other page? So, for example. On page 1, i have some texts. When i go to the next page which is on page 2, i want sound to be automatically play and stop when i go to page 3. I'm planning to use If statements (since it's not that many pages) to determine which page will get the sound. My question is simple. How do you get the sound play automatically when viewing certain page? By the way, I'm planning to use System Sound. I know how to play the sound using button. But how do you get it automatically - start when certain page appear and stop when moving to the next page. Thank you in advance!     Hello; I wanted to check whether internet is connected or not using either the SystemConfiguration or the CFNetwork i am not quite sure which one. Then i want to know that if the internet is connected then is it connected through wifi or not. I tried an example where i used the below code -(IBAction) shownetworkStatus { NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"www.google.com"]; if (url!=NULL) { lbl.text = @"Connected"; } else { lbl.text = @"notConnected"; } } some say that its not valid as per apple and you have to use the SystemConfiguration Framework, Please let me know what needs to be done. Also i personally think that what i am doing in the above code is not proper as if one day google may also be down due to maintenance or some other factors. Also if you could provide me a link where i could display the name of the WIFI network then it would be really cool.   • iPhone Application failing to come back from sigkill

    I have no idea if this is intended behaviour, but whenever the application exits (say, the user is double-clicking the home button and pressing on the red dash on the icon) I get the dreaded SIGKILL. Now, when I try to launch the app again all I get is the old screen state and a frozen (I presume ?) program. It could be because of clunky memory management, but NSZombieEnabled doesn't seem to agree. Any thoughts ?

When I build and analyze my project on XCode, I obtain a 'warning' on the following line: NSString *contactEmail = (NSString *)ABMultiValueCopyValueAtIndex(emailInfo, 0); The message is: Potential leak on object allocated on line ... and stored into contactEmail. Is there any error on that line? UPDATE I get the same 'warning' with this line of code: ABMultiValueRef emailInfo = ABRecordCopyValue(person, kABPersonEmailProperty); But here, I can't do this: [emailInfo release]; I'm developing for iPhone.

    I've made a UIScrollView the first responder. I need to maintain touch events to a touchesEnded:withEvent: method on a view behind it. I've tried using the nextResponder method and that failed. I've tried forwarding touchesEnded:withEvent to the view behind it and that fails. How do I get this to work? The UIScrollView wont work unless it is the first responder or gets events some other way. Thank you for any help. Shame Apple's documentation and APIs are terrible in areas.

  • How to find which method makes my iPhone app slow ?

    Currently I am working on a production app. One function acts like the settings.app on iPhone. When the user click a cell of a tableView, as shown below http://www.penguintech.net/images/stackoverflow/1.png It will push another view, which includes a textfield to let user input something. However, on both simulator and device, after the app just loaded, the delay between clicking and showing the second view takes around 2 seconds. Then if user get back to previous view and click again, it will be no delay at all. To detect which method makes the delay, I put a NSLog() in every involved methods, but when I was inspecting the console while running the app, all NSLog() message showed in 0.1 seconds, and then still a delay on the app. Is there any other way to trace the performance footage of a app? The Instruments shows only CPU usage in Mac OS not in iPhone.

Second, when I touch those link-like words, the text view (or maybe web view) jumps to the corresponding part below (yes, it doesn't open Safari, it just jumps to the text within that text/web view) Now I want to implement the same effects. Basically, I have the code to use pointers, but eventually it has to start out being an actual value right?   • issue with keychain and updates from app store

    I am having a very frustrating error. I have tested for an app upgrade by first installing the previous version (1.0.1) and then running version (1.0.2). Everything worked fine. I submitted the app and then I am getting issues people are getting crashes when they upgrade. I tried doing the same thing, which is installing the 1.0.1 and then install the binary on the app store, then it crashed.     I am developing a ebook reader app. I have the .ePUB file for the entire ebook where in each topic of the ebook is a html file. I want to implement the search functionality in the app. I am using NSRegularExpression class for searching. Please consider the following html code: <temp> I am temp in tempo with temptation </temp> Say for example in the above html code I just want to search for the word temp. Now in above code temp is appearing 5 times - <temp> </temp> temp tempo temptation. I am looking for a regular expression where I can only extract the whole word "temp". I don't want to consider the word temp in the html tags <temp> </temp>. I also don't want the word tempo and temptation to be considered. Thanks in advance

Now, here is where the issue starts. self.globalDelegate is defined as AppDelegate *globalDelegate; in the Interface specification in my header file. Any idea where I've gone wrong?
