  URL's are posting in address bar however all pages show up as the home page. I tried to add a document to the documents tab and after seeing inheritance overrides I canceled out of it and now all the pages post the home page.

  module FooHelper def foo haml_tag(:div) do haml_content("bar") end end end When I test this I get: NoMethodError: undefined method `haml_tag' This code is perfectly valid and works in a development/production environment. It's something to do with having the haml helpers properly loaded in the test environment. Thanks!

  I am building a small web app for a pharmacy to keep track of sales and stocks, so in short, in one page, the pharmacist will enter a bar-code and the item is displayed, pharmacist enters quantity (price will be automatically calculated) then next item and next and so on, I haven't worked with such a problem before so I would appreciate any advices/tips on how to do it, what to use and wither its already done in some tidy neat way I can just import into my page. Am using ASP.net and VB.net, SQL 2008 and all express withing Visual Web Developer (also ExpresS)

• Avoid application becoming unresponsive on download

  Hi I have an application which downloads a file from a network location and then displays that files information. It uses WebClient.DownloadFile to achieve this. The problem is, when the user clicks a button to start the download, the application becomes unresponsive until the file has downloaded. This gives the impression the application may have hung. I would like to seek ideas which would avoid this scenario. Though my solution will need to be 'as quick and cheap as possible' I would be interested in hearing about custom loaders that have been built, or some sort of loading symbol / progress bar / sand time clock thingy : ) Thanks for reading.

  I need to know the referring server for a page on my site. Is there any safe method to check where the user "came" to the page FROM? I tried uploading this to my server, but this wont output anything at all when I write the adress to the file in the browsers adress bar: <?php echo $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; ?> I need to check this in order to display a link on the page or not...   Hi. I got a part on my page I want to improve. It's a file upload that users can add their contacts from files like excel, csv & outlook. I read the contacts and place them in the database, so what I would like to do is to have a regular icon that spins while that operation is doing that, how could I do that? Ajax? I don't want progress bar for the file upload but the operation for reading the file EDIT: I want to know how to make this work with the add to database using ajax. like should I use a updatepanel?   I have a long running function that should be inserting new rows. How do I check the progress of this function? I was thinking dirty reads would work so I read http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/sql-set-transaction.html and came up with the following code and ran it in a new session: SET SESSION CHARACTERISTICS AS SERIALIZABLE; SELECT * FROM MyTable; Postgres gives me a syntax error. What am I doing wrong? If I do it right, will I see the inserted records while that long function is still running? Thanks

  I have a navbar fixed to the bottom and I have page that has a title and a giant svg (created by d3.js). I would like the svg to take up the entire screen (whatever is left over), but it always seems to have some part appear behind the bottom nav bar. I've tried: 1) using viewBox to auto-resize, setting the parent div and the svg to be block elements 2) adding padding-bottom to the body element But the svg still appears behind the navbar on wide screen monitors.

• Downloading large files with AFNetworking

  I'm trying to implement downloading of a large file and show to user current progress, but block in: -[AFURLConnectionOperation setDownloadProgressBlock:] returns incorrect bytesRead and totalBytesRead values (they are smaller than they should be). For example: If I have a 90MB file and when it downloads completely, latest block invocation in setDownloadProgressBlock: gives me totalBytesRead value about 30MB. On other side, if file is 2MB large, latest block invocation gives correct totalBytesRead 2MB value. AFNetworking is updated to the latest version from github. If AFNetworking can't do it correctly, what solution can I use? Edit: I've determined that even if file is not downloaded completely (and this happens every time with relatively big file) AFNetworking calls success block in: -[AFHTTPRequestOperation setCompletionBlockWithSuccess:failure] I asked a similar question here about this situation, but didn't get any answers. I can check in code downloaded and real file sizes, but AFNetworking has no API for continuation of partial download.
