On confluence I want to create a link that links to:
P:\myFolder\folder, where P is mapped to a network share.
Just putting in "P:\myFolder\folder" doesn't work. Any ideas?
(Assuming I cannot put in the full netowrk path).
Hi,
I'm going to develop a social like network using Ruby on Rails.
For this app I need basic social functionality like friends, activities, authentication, user profile, facebook connect, comments. I searched for rails plugins with social functions and i found - tog and community engine.
So which is better and more easier to extend?
Thanks
Is there a way to specify which local network interface to use when using the WININET interface for an outgoing HTTP request?
I know how to do it with WINSOCK (using bind()), but I can't find an equivalent way to do it using WININET.
I want to be able to connect to a network via command line in Windows. My goal is to script out remoting into my work computer. I hate having to always manually connect to the VPN connection and then rdping into my work machine. I want to just have a script which will do both of it for me. I know how to rdp via command line, I just need to know how to connect to my VPN via command line.
I have a byte array of some binary data that i need to send over the network using WCF and NetTcpBinding. My problem is that i need to send only the part of the array. Is there any way to do this, other than copying that part to a separate array, and sending that one. This extra copying degrades performance, and i would like to avoid it, if possible.
On my Win7 PC I have a couple of virtual network adaptors that are used for VMWare server.
My HttpWebRequest times out when I have these adaptors enabled. Should I really have to tell it which adaptor to bind to?
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url.AbsoluteUri + "etc.txt");
request.Timeout = 2000;
using (HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse())
{
using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()))
{
return reader.ReadToEnd();
}
}
What's needed:
To move several directories between two Windows 2008 servers on a regular basis.
Due to security requirements, neither server is supposed to have network shares set up or extraneous software installed.
What's available:
Administrator access to both machines (including remote desktop access if that helps).
A third machine with:
Visual Studio 2010
Cygwin
Bonus extras
The script that does the rest of the work (apart from moving the files) is currently written in F#, but any .net/command line based solution would be fine.
Hi, everyone
I'm looking for an easy way of packing/unpacking data structures for sending over the network:
on client just before sending:
a = ((1,2),(11,22,),(111,222))
message = pack(a)
and then on server:
a = unpack(message)
Is there a library that could do pack/unpack magic?
Thanks in advance
I was just curious, is it possible to have direct network transfers in c#, without local caching.
e.g.
I have response stream which represents GoogleDrive file and request stream to upload file to another GoogleDrive account.
At that momment I can download file to local pc and next upload it to the google drive. But is it possible to upload it directly from one google drive to another or, at least, start uploading before full download will be completed.
Thank
Hi,
I'm trying to run tinyMCE texteditor in ASP.NET 2.0 + 3.5 but I get the following error in my web.config file..
An error occurred loading a configuration file: Failed to start monitoring changes to '###\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\TinyMCE\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\langs' because the network BIOS command limit has been reached. For more information on this error, please refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 810886. Hosting on a UNC share is not supported for the Windows XP Platform.
Any ideas how to solve this?
I'm using C++ and wondering if I can just send an entire int array over a network (using basic sockets) without doing anything. Or do I have to split the data up and send it one at a time?
Hi,
I want to access a file on remote machine(win2k3, 10.10.20.30), but i couldn't understand how to login to that machine in my program. is there any simple win api that takes network path, credentials and returns the handle?
i just want to access \10.10.20.30\c$\test.txt,
WNetAddConnection2, WNetAddConnection3 are little confusing. Any suggestion will be helpful.
Is there way i can get the current network being used by iPhone programmatically in an iPhone app. To SImplify, suppose there are 3 networks visible in the wifi vicinity of the phone and i can see them in the settings page. I select one and is it possible for any app to find that out?
Windows knows when you have removed the network cable from your NIC. Is there a programmatic way to determine this via API in C++?
Note: I am not using .NET
I have been trying to fix this solution for the last day. I'm trying to add NETWORK SERVICE as a user to the SQL Server Express installation on the server. Everytime I get the error 'User does not have permission to perform this action.'. Any ideas?
I have a linux kernel module that needs to find the speed of a given network interface (i.e. "eth0"). For linux 2.6.31 how would I find the speed (configured/negotiated)?
Does Android broadcast an intent when the network state has changend, i.e. from GSM to Wifi? And if so what permission do I need and what is the intent action called?
I can use fopen to open local files but can't open files across network on a different machine. I can map the drives and look at the files but can't open them using fopen.
I have functionality built in python on a central server. I wish to expose this api over the network to an iphone application. What would be the best way to do that?
Is it possible to create web services in python and have the iphone app use those? If so could anyone give me pointers as to how to create web services in python.
If someone has a better idea on how to go about doing this let me know =)
hello,
today i wrote a windows service which needs to send regular http requests to a server.
the problem is that the service runs under the "SYSTEM" account as local service and as such a type of service it isn't allowed to access the network.. for installing the service i use this class:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/152585/ServiceInstaller.cs
is there a way to send http requests in a .net c# windows service and get the http response? thanks. :)
What is the PowerShell script to get the speed a specific Windows machine's network card is running at?
I know this can be done with a WMI based and will post an answer once I work it out.
