I've tried patching manually but I failed, it will not compile.

• Removing partition to install OS?

  So i have a computer that has 2 hard drives and i installed Ubuntu server on it. I used LVM to connect the two. So i tried to put windows back on it but it failed because it said it couldn't position the drive and then when i booted again the OS couldn't be found. So i booted it with the Ubuntu setup disc but now when it goes to partition it says that the position can not be modified because its already in use. I am asking if there is a way i can just remove everything and start fresh?

• Reorganizing development environment for single developer/small shop

  I have been developing for my company for approximately three years. We serve up a web portal using Microsoft .NET and MS SQL Server on DotNetNuke. I am going to leave my job full time at the end of April. I am leaving on good terms, and I really care about this company and the state of the web project. Because I haven't worked in a team environment in a long time, I have probably lost touch with what 'real' setups look like. When I leave, I predict the company will either find another developer to take over, or at least have developers work on a contractual basis. Because I have not worked with other developers, I am very concerned with leaving the company (and the developer they hire) with a jumbled mess. I'd like to believe I am a good developer and everything makes sense, but I have no way to tell. My question, is how do I set up the development environment, so the company and the next developer will have little trouble getting started? What would you as a developer like in place before working on a project you've never worked on? Here's some relevant information: There is a development server onsite and a production server offsite in a data center . There is a server where backups and source code (Sourcegear Vault) are stored. There is no formal documentation but there are comments in the code. The company budget is tight so free suggestions will help the best. I will be around after the end of April on a consulting basis so I can ask simple questions but I will not be available full time to train someone

• How to install previously-archived apps from xcode organizer to my iphone

  Hi all. Xcode keeps an archive of all the versions of my apps that I've submitted to the app store in the 'archived applications' section. I assumed using this I could install an old version of an app to my device, in order to reproduce any problems my client may have had with that particular version. However, when I try to do this I get an error: 'this executable was signed with invalid entitlements, the entitlements specified in your applications code signing entitlements do not match those specified in your provisioning profile' The original app was signed using our App Store distribution certificate, and I use the Organizer interface to re-sign it using our Developer profile. select the archived app select the version I want to test click 'share' select 'iphone developer' next to identity save to disk (saves the ipa file) then copy the ipa to the device using the little + button you see next to 'applications' on the screen you get when you select the connected device. Then I get the error, and the app isn't installed. Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong here? Or is there a different process to re-install an archived app to my device? Thanks,

  Hi A couple of months ago we ordered an SSL certificate for a client's server using the request guide in IIS 6.0. This worked fine and the guide was completed when we received the certificate. But about 2 weeks ago the server crashed and had to be restored. Now I can't seem to get the site running. I have the .cer file, but what is the correct procedure to import the the certificate? I hope some of you can help me.. -- Christian

  I have installed private key (pem encoded) and public key certificate (pem encoded) on amazon load balancer however when i check the ssl with site test tool (http://www.networking4all.com/en/support/tools/site+check/), i get the following error Error while checking the SSL Certificate!! Unable to get the local issuer of the certificate. The issuer of a locally looked up certificate could not be found. Normally this indicates that not all intermediate certificates are installed on the server. i converted crt file to pem using these command from this tutorial openssl x509 -in input.crt -out input.der -outform DER openssl x509 -in input.der -inform DER -out output.pem -outform PEM during setting up of amazon load balancer only option i left out was certificate chain (pem encoded) however this was optional. could this be cause of my issue? and if so i how do i create certificate chain? for the last question i have tried googling however i'm getting more confused than before. please help many thanks in advance. UPDATE @all thanks for the helpful advice. if you make request to verisign they will give you a certificate chain however this chain includes public crt, intermediate crt and root crt. make sure to remove the public crt from your certificate chain (which is the top most certificate) before adding it to your certification chain box of your amazon load balancer. if you are making https request from an android app then above instruction may not work for older android os such as 2.1 and 2.2. to make it work on older android os [https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-support/index?page=content&id=AR657&actp=LIST&viewlocale=en_US]. on this link click on "retail ssl" tab and then click on "secure site" "CA Bundle for Apache Server". copy and past these intermediate certs into certificate chain box. just incase if you have not found it here is the direct link [https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-support/index?page=content&id=AR1409] if you are using geo trust certificates then solution is much the same for android devices however you need to copy and past their intermediate certs for android.   While editing HTML/ASPX/ASCX etc; whenever I select an html tag, visual studio highlights the entire tag in black and bold; the black I'm not so fussed about but the bold changes the length of the line and really messes up the formatting. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks, Chris

• Intell SSD + Win 7 after crash can not repair, can not re install

  I have Lenovo w520, after i bought it i took away old hhd (no longer with me) and replaced it with intel ssd, it worked perfectly for 1 year or so, today my system fr0ze and after waiting for some time i didi hard reset - it wasn't able to boot anymore at all, i do not see any messages from windows ever, it only loads Intel boot utility that suggests to pick one of 3 devices to boot, it has my hdd there but nothing happens. /I dont have recovery tools from lenovo since i moved to another country, i got win 7 cd from a friend (came with his laptop) abd if in bios i have AHCI - it doesnt see my ssd, if compatible mode - it sees it but format not available, partition creation gives b\me 8007045 error. I tried diskpart, in compatible mode it sees my disk but doesnt do recover or clean all, also win 7 disk tools dont do anything if i try to do boot fix... I am ok with erasing it but i seem not to be able too, i jus tneed the machine to wpork asap, all my files are on external drives so i dont care about formatting. please help! I am given a very old machine by a friend so i am able to browse internet... it is under XP...

• SugarCRM CE Won't Install on Ubuntu 10.10

  I have a fresh copy of Ubuntu 10.10 server with a working LAMP installation. I downloaded SugarCRM and browsed to its directory to open the installer (via Firefox). The installer appears fine, I accept the license agreement, and it proceeds to check file permissions. It advises that several directories need looser permissions (chmod 766), and I adjust them accordingly. After making the changes, I click "recheck" and the page just reloads as blank (white). There are no errors visible, nothing in the server logs (Apache/PHP) and installation cannot continue. I'm able to get back to the installation tool by readjusting permissions back to my default (0755 for directories, 0644 for files). All files/folders are owned by root and the www-data group. Any idea about what's wrong?

Running identify command with a gif works but running it with a jpeg produces this error: identify: no decode delegate for this image format `stream,13307,0.jpg' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/532. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

  Hi Everyone! I have some javascript which runs a timer that animates something on the website. It all works perfectly but I want to get an image to change when the animation is run, It uses jquery: if(options.auto && dir=="next" && !clicked) { timeout = setTimeout(function(){ if (document.images['bullet1'].src == "img/bulletwhite.png") { document.images['bullet1'].src = "img/bullet.png"; document.images['bullet2'].src = "img/bulletwhite.png"; } animate("next",false); },diff*options.speed+options.pause); } options.auto means that its automatically cycling, dir is the direction of the motion and clicked is whether or not the user clicked it. Is there something wrong with my syntax here? I ran firebug with it, and it doesn't throw any errors, it simply won't work. Any advice would help! I should mention that the src of bullet1 starts at bulletwhite.png and then I was hoping for it to change to bullet.png and have bullet2 change to bulletwhite.png.

• Vim: How to Install Airline?

  I'm just getting started with Vim. It's a fun experience, but I've found it to be kind of overwhelming. I'm trying to get this plugin installed, vim-airline, but I'm having a lot of trouble. The Installation section on the Github page simply states: copy all of the files into your ~/.vim directory Presumably, this means download the .zip, extract it, and copy all of those files into ~/.vim/. I did this, but Vim just starts up like normal, and running :help airline just gives: Sorry, no help for airline I assume that this means it isn't getting installed. Also, the statusbar remains the same. I'm new to Vim and would really like to get this working. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I also tried putting the files into /usr/share/vim/vim73/. No dice. EDIT 2: I ran :helptags ~/.vim/doc and now the help-page displays when I type :help airline, but I'm still not getting the plugin itself (the status bar). Vim looks the same, but it can now display the help page.

  I have a local git repository a "central" repo at github. I'm working on a part of a project, while a friend is working on a related piece that is its entirely seperate repo, is it possible for me to simply link directly to my friends repo? For example, the app is called widgets. I have all my code in widgets/app/mycode and my friend is writing code that goes into widgets/plugins/awesome/hiscode. I want to be able to always have http://github.com/mycode/widgets/plugins/hiscode to be a direct link or clone to http://github.com/hiscode/awesome ? It could be possible i'm missing something basic in my question or knowledge of git, if so please ask, and i'll be happy to try to fill in the blanks. I am deploying to my production site via capistrano, so maybe a script of some kind may be easier?? I don't know (that's why i'm posting)!!

  I want to create a personal digital archive. I want to be able to check digital files (some several years old, some recent, some not yet created) into that archive and have them preserved, along with their metadata such as ctime, atime and mtime. I want to be able to check these files out of that archive, modify their contents and commit the changes back to the archive, while keeping the earlier commits and their metadata intact. I want the archive to be very reliable and secure, and able to be backed up remotely. I want to be able to check files in and out of the archive from PCs running Linux, Mac OS X 10.5+ or Win XP+. I want to be able to check files in and out of the archive from PCs with RAM capacities lower than the size of the files. E.g. I want to be able to check in/out a 13GB file using a PC with 2GB RAM. I thought Subversion could do all this, but apparently it can't. (At least, it couldn't a couple of years ago and as far as I know it still can't; correct me if I'm wrong.) Is there a libre VCS or similar capable of all these things? Thanks for your help.
