Hi to all,
how can I overload or extend (or intercept) jQuery's .html() method so that it works its default way unless the object has a certain class?
Thanks
How do I test to see if links are external or internal? Please note:
I cannot hard code the local domain.
I cannot test for "http". I could just as easily be linking to my own site with an http absolute link.
I want to use jQuery / javascript, not css.
I suspect the answer lies somewhere in location.href, but the solution evades me.
Thanks!
I'm looking to select columns 2-4 on the 2nd row in a table. Does jquery have any sort of "and" function in their selectors? Or would I have to do something like this?
$('#id tr:eq(1)').find('td:lt(5)').find('td:gt(1)')
Hi,
I have a jquery datepicker with the numberOfMonths set to 3, currently when I click on the datepicker, the left side month is the current month. In most cases, the user is only going to be selecting a date prior to todays date so I would prefer the current month selected to be the last calendar i.e. March, April, May instead of the current implementation which is May, June, July.
Greatly appreciate any help!
Using jQuery, how do you check if there is an option selected in a select menu, and if not, assign one of the options as selected.
(The select is generated with a maze of PHP functions in an app I just inherited, so this is a quick fix while I get my head around those :)
I've used Jquery Tools and Fancybox. But these plugins dont work properly in my school's template when using older browser versions like firefox 3.0.1.6
I need to try different plugins with the hopes of them working.
I have an HTML table which may contain thousands of rows (number of columns is not a problem here).
I would like to be able to browse this table easily and be able to do the following:
Decide how many rows will be presented
Jump to the next/previous X number of rows
Scroll the table using the scroll bars to any desired line
Be able to customize/extend easily this Javascript/jQuery code
Has anyone seen something similar ?
Thank you very much !
I am having problems using multiple queues in jQuery. Consider the following example:
$('#example').click(function() {
$(this).delay(1000, 'fx2').queue('fx2', function() {
alert('here');
});
});
The alert never fires. Why?
I have 6 columns in jquery grid..
Initially I need to hide the 6th column for user..
I did that made Visible= false for that perticular column
now I need to make disabled that column perminently that is i should not give access for the user to sort or do something else on the column only readable?
thanks

I am trying to post data from my form to a jquery dialog that loads external content.
I am serializing the form data which works (appears in the url) but the dialog won't open:
$("#wavajax button").click(function() {
$.post({url: 'player/index.php', data: $("#wavajax").serialize(),
success: function (data) {
$("#recordingdialog").load("player/index.php", [], function(){
$("#recordingdialog").dialog("open");
}
});
return false;
});
What am I doing wrong, am I going about it the right way???
how would i select the following in jquery
<ns:text value="my value" />
i have tried selecting it like so:
1:
var x= $('ns:text').attr('value');
return x;
2:
var x= $('text').attr('value');
return x;
but nothing so far... i don't know if it is possible or not but ...
Thanks
I want to write a jQuery function that will return only a part of a given text. For example, in the text:
http://somesubdomain.somesite.com/
How can I write a function so that it returns the text "somesubdomain"? In other words, I want to "subtract" the text "http://" and ".somesite.com/".
Thanks in advance
I'd like to have an input box that automatically adds a visible percent sign to the user when entering numbers (not just recognizes it as a percent when submitting). Thus, a user hits "2" and sees "2%"
I'm assuming one could use Jquery to do this fairly easily, but I have no idea how! Any ideas?
Thanks everyone.
I'm implementing my own Progress Bar using jQuery.
My question is how can I fill (for example) only 30% of it with a background ?
What are my options ?
Basically, the Progress Bar is a simple div with rounded corners (-moz-border-radius).
I'm using Firefox 3.6.3.
Thanks !
I am running this coda-slider script from http://www.ndoherty.biz/
Not Everytime, but quite often on the first load the coda slider box will be empty and the slider wont work, most of the time my image will be there and the slider will run since I have it set on auto. I am not quite sure why this happens. I seem to have had this happen to me with other jquery stuff just loading empty or super tiny images, anyone else seen this issue.
I am trying to find the correct syntax to pass a varible to my JQuery Post.
var id = empid;
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "../Webservices/EmployeeService.asmx/GetEmployeeOrders",
data: "{empid: empid}",
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
dataType: "json",
success: function(result) {
alert(result.d);
}
I don't think the data: value is quite right. Someone set me straight?
Thanks!
Hello,
I have created a drop down with JQuery that can be seen here by clicking the Preview button on top:
http://jsbin.com/ubire3/edit
It works fine except for one problem. When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close. How do i make it so that even if i hover fast over them all other submenus are closed?
Thanks.
I have a contenteditable element that I want to focus, but only insofar as to place the cursor at the front of the element, rather selecting everything.
elem.trigger('focus'); with jquery selects the entire element in chrome. How can I get it to behave the way I want, or is focus perhaps not what I'm looking for.
Thanks
Is there a case insensitive version of the :contains jQuery selector or should I do the work manually by looping over all elements and comparing their .text() to my string?
Adding a validator to my form:
jQuery.validator.addMethod('whatever', function(val, el) {
// whatever goes here
}, 'A maximum of ' + $('#my_id_here').val() + ' categories can be selected.');
This doesn't fly. I always get undefined. Is this a good, simple way to do this?
Thanks
Im using the following function to hide a series of forms on a page:
$('.ask').toggle(function() {
$(this).text('-').next('.addtitle').slideDown('fast');
}, function() {
$(this).text('+').next('.addtitle').slideUp('fast');
});
There can be anything from 0 to 5 forms on the page all with the class .ask
What I want to be able to do is to select one form NOT to hide, so the jQuery needs to hide all put one of the forms on the page randomly.
How can I achieve this?
