• Any good site that teaches C++?

  I am searching for any good site that teaches C++, that can explain most to all things about it(general) and has a decent active community. About Me: I am new to programming(knows nothing of it, so please bare with me), I have only learned(to a very basic form) LUA scripting Language, so yes I am your complete newbie. I got interested in programming, from scripting in LUA, so you can say it was my small stepping stone, One would basically take a course in college, but not everyone is well funded for that and I can't buy books for the same said reason(yes I'm somewhat poor, only money for essentials and bills), I'm not trying to get sympathy, just stating my conditions. and Please, something in between the lines of 'Programming for Dummies'(I'm not the brightest crayon in the box), I know this will not be easy, but your help will be most appreciated. I would learn for either Windows and/or Linux/Unix. I use both. Site(s) I know: Cplusplus.org(quite inactive and tutorials are a little for the programming savvy.

• Can not export JARS in lwjgl!

  I did it before but for some reason it's doing the stupid problem again. I want to export as a regular Jar file, not a folder full of files. I export it like in Oskar Veerhoak. cmd says Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Resource not found: res/F lubberFlap.png at org.newdawn.slick.util.ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream(ResourceLoa der.java:69) at com_FlubberSpace.MainFS.main(MainFS.java:118) I tested it out with my other project with the same code pretty much. This is how I load my Textures wood = TextureLoader.getTexture("PNG", ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream("res/wood.png")); of course it works fine in eclipse but not after export. I havn't tried giving the previous game its' own project, I have it in a package. Can someone record how to export properly? I want a jar file that you just double click to start it. I also want it so nobody can extract the files and see my classes and res.

• Recommended Linux distro to boot into RAM (from USB flash drive)?

  I don't mind if I use USB flash drive or CD-ROM, but I would prefer USB flash drive. I had a squizz at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_distributions_that_run_from_RAM On my own computer, I would be able to use any of the distros in the list. The largest "RAM required" in the list is 4GB. I would like to be able to use it on any computer, so I suppose 1GB or less would be better. I tried to follow the method described on Distro that I can load into RAM? but the distro listed there, from Israel Remix Team, doesn't seem to be available. Before I start trial-and-error on different distros, does anyone have any recommendations?

  I have ubuntu 11.10 and am trying to install the latest version of kbibtex but I can't do it. Anyone know how to do?   http://www.dartlang.org/ I've checked out the site very briefly, and got curious. Is there any advantages of using Dart? Is it just a replacement for javascript? It looks like simpler java. Writing quite a lot of C# at work, the language feels very much like what I'm used to, so learning the syntax looks like a breeze to learn. Has anybody any opinions or experiences with the language? (Compared to coffeescript (= I'm not doing ruby syntax) the syntax looks more familiar to me).

  What I'm looking for is to set up a CMS website with a tag cloud/search system where when you click a tag it shows as a search filter, and you get a new tag cloud which only shows tags from the articles that have the primary tag. This should let the user easily include or exclude tags from the search. Also i would like to let the user filter on publication date by using a slider...   I tried installing Ubuntu 12.04 from the live CD. The install went fine but i had the next error while booting : Grub stage 1.5 error 2. So I used boot-repair as explained here (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/boot-repair). Still not working, i got this while booting : "GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3 Minimal bash-like line editing is supported. Etc...". Nothing more...   I'd like to join three ideas into one interesting and sometimes useful feature. There was a question about using multiple passwords earlier this year, but it didn't receive much attention. I'd like to ask the question again after showing an interesting and new way to use the feature. • I cannot log in after theme change

  After changing the gtk-theme in the gnome tweak took I was taken out of the session to the login screen and now I cannot log in. I can only log in using the guest account. So in the grub menu I selected the recovery mode and in the resulting menu I selected root-drop to root shell prompt. Once there I did a couple of things I've found in several pages and in the forums. 1.gsettings reset org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme This is what I got: (process:642):WARNING: Command line 'dbus-launch –autolunch=4438d024dd45ef7fb2d3f4ab0000000f –binary-syntax --close-stderr' exited with non-zero exit status 1: Autolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.\n and nothing changes 2.gconftool-2 --type=string -s /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_theme Radiance with this I was trying to change the gtk theme to the Radiance one. No strange message this time but it did not work either. I still cannot log in. Any ideas please?? sssuizaaa

  Slowly but surely apps have been coming out for Windows Phone 7, I must admit that was my biggest concern on moving from the iPhone to the Windows Phone.  Not the fact apps would come slowly, but when they would come.  The iPhone side of things had very nice apps, and moving into a not so populated app landscape was an interesting thought. Anyway, yes there are apps I miss … but now it is one less! WordPress released the “for Windows Phone 7” app. Great experience and layout for the tool. • Couldnt find a way to open blender software

  I am new to Ubuntu. I downloaded the latest version of Blender (2.70a) from official blender.org site as an tar.bz2 file. My Ubuntu OS is 14.04 LTS amd64 bit os, and I am sure that I have downloaded the correct version of blender. I have read that for security reasons, Ubuntu does not allow executing exe files. Since the downloaded package contains blender as an executable/x-executable type, it is not able to execute. I do not have an internet connection in that computer too. Also the "Allow executing file as program" checkbox is checked by default. Still double clicking it does not execute the file. Can anyone say how to open this file? P.S: Wine also checked but requires active internet connection, which I dont have.

Relevant stats: 320k-350k pv's/month Google brings in 39% and Yahoo/Bing 4% of traffic 10-11% of monthly search strings contains " news" SEOMoz Open Site Explorer stats: Page authority: 65/100 Domain authority: 58/100 Linking root domains: 226 Total links: 35,700 I am familiar with what I need to do as far as 301 redirects, etc. I was assuming that I'd be ok after following Google's recommended procedures but now I am not so sure.

I'm using ubuntu 11.10 - 64 bits with gcc 4.6.1 I've been searching online for an example C++ code that simply grabs video from a compliant UVC webcam and displays it simultaneously.. I need to compile it on gcc. In OpenCV, it's a very simple code less than 20 lines as I remember! I found this: http://v4l2spec.bytesex.org/spec/capture-example.html But it's very huge code relative to OpenCV code ?! and even when I tried to compile it using gcc.. I got many errors! I copied the code into a cpp file: cap.cpp then wrote in the terminal: gcc cap.cpp -o cap and the errors showed up... same errors with g++ I hope if someone can help me and tell me where can I find another simpler code? and how can I test it ?   i have AMD E-450 1.65ghz, 4gb DDR3 ram, HD6320 laptop with dual boot ubuntu 13.04 and win 8.1, my main gaming rig(desktop pc) is with win7(so i am not playing serious games on this laptop) and for university i mostly use ubuntu(unix and programming tasks), for some free time i found dosbox on ubuntu software center and tryed playing several games(blood, syndicate wars) and all of them lag like hell(although on win 8.1 they work perfectly). So any suggestion how to solve the problem? i am using drivers X.org (in software settingsadditional settings) tryed proprietary ones but all screen colors was kinda strange and i couldn't control brightness at all... same dos games was lagging too.

• Touchpad stop working

  I'm in a HP 430 PC-Notebook using Oneiric. And sometimes my touchpad just stop working :(... I haven't installed anything, just safe playing with terminal following linuxcommand.org BTW my touchpad has a "hole" that in Windows, it works like this: two touch, block touchpad, two touch, unblock. And as far as I now, Ubuntu hasn't recognize this function so I think that the "hole" is not the problem... Also, I'm pretty sure that I haven't touch a little that... PD: Spanish speaker, sorry if "hole" is not the appropriate term haha.. Thanks!

• Where can I get the 11.04 kernel .config file?

  I'm using Maverick with the latest available kernels on kernel.org and building them myself. Until now I've been basing my configuration off the stock Maverick kernel and accepting the make oldconfig defaults. I've been doing this for 3 major releases now so I figure I'm starting to slip behind the current "standard". I would like to re-base my kernels off the new Natty .config file. Is this available somewhere online or do I have to download the whole kernel package and extract it? Edit: I've manually pulled in the config from the latest Natty kernel package and I can confirm that I propbably should have done this sooner. A lot of differences between my old "evolved" config and the Natty default. Now if I could just do this without 20 minutes of hunting and downloading the package so I can re-base in the future.
