  • Looking a lightweight PHP ORM

    At first I was going to use doctrine ORM as the main one but it was an overkill, unneeded features and probably excessive calls. One of the main reasons was the "helper" that handled traverse trees (the hierarchy tree) easily but I'm starting to prefer building my own class. This is what I'm looking for: 1) Can manage multiple database connections, (sort of like doctrine manager) 2) Models 3) flexible All suggestions are welcome

    Hi.. I have been trying to use a ScrollView on a single ImageView with a JPG (~770 x 1024) over an AVD that's 600x800. My main.xml is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <ScrollView android:id="@+id/scroller" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> Now, I add a single ImageView with setContentView(R.layout.main); ScrollView sv = (ScrollView)findViewById( R.id.scroller ); ImageView iv = new ImageView(this); iv.setImageDrawable( new BitmapDrawable( "/sdcard/770x1024.jpg" ) ); // same happens with ScaleDrawable. iv.setScaleType( ScaleType.CENTER_INSIDE ); sv.addView( sv ); // and it does not go any better if I use Linear Layout between the ScrollView and the ImageView. The result is The image was displayed in a middle of a ScrollView, wrapped with background area on top and bottom as following: ##### ##### image . . . ##### ##### Where ##### stands for background area I tried to set the background of the ImageView red, and it verified that the blank margins were ImageView background. iv.setBackgroundColor( color.Red ); Where I would expect the image to take no more than its size (scaled to the AVD size) and I expect the ScrollView to let me scroll over the remainder (if any). For some reason, I see that the drawable size is 600x1024. Moreover I tried to add a LinearLayout with a dummy text view such as the linear layout is a parent to the ImageView and the TextView, and the ScrollView is a parent to the LinearLayout. LinearLayout dummy = new LinearLayout( this ); dummy.addView(iv); TextView someTextView = new TextView( this ); someTextView.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams( LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT )); dummy.addView( someTextView ); sv.addView( dummy ); The result was very peculiar: The entire layout was set into the width of a text-less text view (19). It is important for me to avoid stretching the image. What is the recommended way to implement a display of a page that can be potentially scrolled?     I would like to write myself a pretty printer for java using bison and flex. I have written a pretty printer for a script language, but I was only writing visitors, which made the printing. How can I turn a program using my formal grammar into a tree of nodes (made using C++ classes), that afterwards I could visit using my visitor? Maybe you could give me some link with an example of this? What i need to put into flex/bison files?

  • Corner Cases, Unexpected and Unusual Matlab

    Over the years, reading others code, I encountered and collected some examples of Matlab syntax which can be at first unusual and counterintuitive. Please, feel free to comment or complement this list. I verified it r2006a. set([], 'Background:Color','red') Matlab is very forgiving sometimes. In this case, setting properties to an array of objects works also with nonsense properties, at least when the array is empty. myArray([1,round(end/2)]) This use of end keyword may seem unclean but is sometimes very handy instead of using length(myArray). any([]) ~= all([]) Surprisigly any([]) returns false and all([]) returns true. And I always thought that all is stronger then any. EDIT: with not empty argument all() returns true for a subset of values for which any() returns true (e.g. truth table). This means that any() false implies all() false. This simple rule is being violated by Matlab with [] as argument. Loren also blogged about it. Select(Range(ExcelComObj)) Procedural style COM object method dispatch. Do not wonder that exist('Select') returns zero! [myString, myCell] Matlab makes in this case an implicit cast of string variable myString to cell type {myString}. It works, also if I would not expect it to do so. [double(1.8), uint8(123)] => 2 123 Another cast example. Everybody would probably expect uint8 value being cast to double but Mathworks have another opinion. a = 5; b = a(); It looks silly but you can call a variable with round brackets. Actually it makes sense because this way you can execute a function given its handle. a = {'aa', 'bb' 'cc', 'dd'}; Surprsisingly this code neither returns a vector nor rises an error but defins matrix, using just code layout. It is probably a relict from ancient times. set(hobj, {'BackgroundColor','ForegroundColor'},{'red','blue'}) This code does what you probably expect it to do. That function set accepts a struct as its second argument is a known fact and makes sense, and this sintax is just a cell2struct away. Equvalence rules are sometimes unexpected at first. For example 'A'==65 returns true (although for C-experts it is self-evident). About which further unexpected/unusual Matlab features are you aware?

  • PNGs alpha transparancy in AS3 - Unknown file-type

    Hello there! After whittling down of the options we've encountered a problem with PNG's and ActionScript 3 (AS3). When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:- "Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:- converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work. And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work.   • Erratic behavior with XPS editing: what could be going wrong?

    Hello folks, I'm working on a class that annotates existing XPS documents. The problem I've been having is that some annotations randomly don't make it to the finished document. The following test code is supposed to draw a rectangle on every page. On random pages the rectangle does not appear. Upon inspection of the page XML, the tags for the rectangle are missing.   • Select JavaHelp topic in TOC when using setCurrentID

    When I use HelpBroker.setCurrentID("[some help id]"), JavaHelp correctly shows the page I want but the associated topic is not automatically selected/highlighted in the table of contents. This makes it difficult for a user to know where in the topic tree the current page is located. Is there any way to programmatically highlight the current topic in the TOC when I use a HelpBroker to navigate to a specific Help page? Note that when the user follows links within the Java help system, the new topic is properly selected in the table of contents.

  • issue with wpf datagrid cell style when scrolling

    Hi I created a new DataGridCell style for my wpf datagrid (Red Border brush). When I scroll down vertically the selected cells disappear which is ok. When I scroll up I see the selected cells but few of them missing their style and it appear in wrong cells. It look like the data grid remember the selected cells but "forget" their style. Any idea? haim

    I tried all this inside - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath 1.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; 2.cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; 3.cell.contentView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; It only responds to the 1st line and makes the background a translucent kind of black. What should I do to get 100% transparency?

I think file_get_contents() is bringing back data that isn't XML, maybe some Javascript files judging by the iPhone parts in the errors. Is there any way to just get back the XML from that page? Apparently Iterative deepening has the same memory usage as DFS, but I am unable to see how this is possible, as it just keeps expanding like BFS.
