• Setting image DPI in relation to height/width C#

  Hi, I'm writing an application to send some images to a third party, and the images must be 200x200 DPI. The image is a Bitmap and is sized at 500 width and 250 height. The first time I tested the images with the third party, my resolution was incorrect. I merely used image.SetResolution(200,200) to correctly set it to 200x200. This, however, only changed the resolution tag for the image and did not properly, according to my third party technical contact, adjust the image height and width. Is there a ratio that I can use so that for each X units I increment the resolution, I merely increment the corresponding height or width Y units? I thought that I could just increment resolution without having to increment height or width. Thank you, Aaron.

  Hi Techies, In my a web application, I have a part to invoke an activex control .The Activex control is available in all the client PCs who are accessing my web application from web server. But When trying to run this ActiveX control from the browser in client machine (using Wshell), It was not getting invoked since "Run Activex Controls and Pluggins" are disabled in my browser. So I changed the browser settings to enable mode and Then the Activex control gave me the expected output. I afraid that this change in browser settings would allow any other website to harm my system. How could I get rid of this problem? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

• CSS Centering Issue - Div Centering appx 15px too far to the right

  I have a theme that I'm modifying for my site. I currently have it live on my test domain while I tinker with it before launch. http://www.networkgenius.org The #content-wrap div is centering, but too far to the right for some reason. I've absolutely no idea why it's doing this, especially since everything else is centering properly. What is the problem? I did add a 15px padding to the content-wrap area as I've changed the body's background color to the grey that you see and obviously didn't want the text pressed right up against the edges of the wrapper.   I'm working on a large computer science school project using java and SQlite. After finding out that the zentus.org wrapper errors on databases with ON DELETE and ON UPDATE clauses set, I have changed to the other wrapper found at http://www.ch-werner.de/javasqlite. However, I find the documentation lacking somewhat when trying to get an overview on how it works and how to use it, and the function descriptions are very very short, and you have to scan through every function and somewhat guess how they work and what they do. I wasn't able to find any guides on google on how to use it. My question: Does anyone know a link for a guide or tutorial for the ch-werner.de/javasqlite wrapper, or else can give me a basic code example, or give a quick overview of querying the database and the most used functions, and how to use them?

• Flash CS5 font is largest part of the SWF

  I'm transferring a project from CS4 to CS5 and (without any changes) my SWF file gets to be 10 times bigger. It was 7kb and now it's 77kb. I generated a size report and it looks like the font is taking up most of the space. I haven't changed settings. I'm not sure why font is taking up so much space. Is there a way around this? Here is my size report: Font Name Bytes Characters ----------------- ---------- ---------- _sans 12 MilkyWell 317 .blsu Calibri-Bold Bold 75960 %.0123456789 As you can see Calibri-Bold is taking up 75kb and I only have 12 characters in it.

• Trouble with authlogic_rpx

  Hi, I'm trying to run http://github.com/tardate/rails-authlogic-rpx-sample (only rails version was changed) but get error message http://gist.github.com/385696, when RPX returns information after successful authentication via Google Account. What is wrong here? And how I can fix it? The code was successfully tested with rails 2.3.3 by its author: http://rails-authlogic-rpx-sample.heroku.com/ I run on Windows with cygwin and rails (2.3.5), rpx_now (0.6.20), authlogic_rpx (1.1.1). • TabWidget white foreground color?

  I don't know what I did but for a period of time my TabWidget had white colored tabs which looked really nice. I never set a theme or background/foreground color in my project at all. The next time I compiled it it reverted back to the gray tabs. My application is using the default dark theme. Even if I set the application theme to light, the tabs are still gray. So obviously it was something else that changed the tabs' color. Anyone know how to do this?

• How to remove some of the TimeSeries titles in a AChartEngine Time Series View

  As a workaround of not being able to change colors of selected points in a series on an AChartEngine Time Chart, I was using an additional series for each point whose color has to be changed. I need to disable series titles for those additional series. Using empty string as the argument to the Time Series construtor: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(""); still results in the line-and-point symbol being placed with empty series title string under the X-axis labels for each such series. It would be a desirable feature for AChartEngine to remove both the line-and-point symbol and the series title string for a series created with a null argument to the TimeSeries construtor call: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(null); But this currently resulted in nullPointerException instead. Would the AChartEngine developers consider the above suggestion and until then, is there a way to remove some of the TimeSeries titles from a AChartEngine Time Series View? Best regards.

  I'm trying to find some good examples of semantic diff/merge utilities. The traditional paradigm of comparing source code files works by comparing lines and characters.. but are there any utilities out there (for any language) that actually consider the structure of code when comparing files? For example, existing diff programs will report "difference found at character 2 of line 125. File x contains v-o-i-d, where file y contains b-o-o-l". A specialized tool should be able to report "Return type of method doSomething() changed from void to bool". I would argue that this type of semantic information is actually what the user is looking for when comparing code, and should be the goal of next-generation progamming tools. Are there any examples of this in available tools?

• Finding the order of method calls in Eclipse

  Suppose I have a big program that consists of hundreds of methods in it. And according to the nature of input the program flow is getting changed. Think I want to make a change to the original flow. And it is big hassle to find call hierarchy/ references and understand the flow. Do I have any solution for this within Eclipse? Or a plugin? As an example, I just need a Log of method names that is in order of time. Then I don't need to worry about the methods that are not relevant with my "given input" Update : Using debug mode in eclipse or adding print messages are not feasible. The program is sooooo big. :)

• Unicode in fpc doesn't work

  Hi I'm Romanian and I can't write Unicode in Free Pascal Compiler. I try to write ?,î,â,a,? and it doesn't work. I tried with dos windows changed fonts, tried chcp. I even made a batch file which would do chcp 65001 and start the app. By default when I tried to write these letter I got "?" but when I started it with the batch file it just didn't write anything. I tried AnsiString, UnicodeString, UTF8String and all didn't work. And I think the problem is in the compiler. Does anyone know a solution?

But coming to firefox i am surprised on seeing the output after so much of coding. In Firefox:-- onMouseOver is working as expected. color change of that particular row. onClick -- Setting the background color permenantly..eventhough i do onmouseover on different rows. the clicked row color is not reset to white. -- not as expected onclick on 2 rows..the background of both the rows is set...not as expected i.e if i click on all the rows..background color of everything is changed... Eventhough i click on the row. First column i.e radio button or checkbox is not set.. Please help me to solve this issue in firefox. Do let me know where my code needs to be changed... • C String literals: Where do they go?

  I have read a lot of posts about "string literals" on SO, most of which have been about best-practices, or where the literal is NOT located in memory. I am interested in where the string DOES get allocated/stored, etc. I did find one intriguing answer here, saying: Defining a string inline actually embeds the data in the program itself and cannot be changed (some compilers allow this by a smart trick, don't bother). but, it had to do with C++, not to mention that it says not to bother. I am bothering. =D So my question is, again, where and how is my string literal kept? Why should I not try to alter it? Does the implementation vary by platform? Does anyone care to elaborate on the "smart trick?" Thanks for any explanations.

• How can I view multiple git diffs side by side in vim

  I'd like to be able to run a command that opens up a git diff in vim, with a tab for each file in the diff set. So if for example I've changed files foo.txt and bar.txt in my working tree and I ran the command I would see vim open with two tabs. The first tab would contain a side-by-side diff between foo.txt in my working tree and foo.txt in the repository, and the second tab would contain a side-by-side diff for bar.txt. Anyone got any ideas?

  Hey, What I want do to is to include 'file1.php' from 'domain1' into 'file2.php' on 'domain2'. So what I figured I should do is something like this: file2.php require_once '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php'; But this won't work for reasons I can't truly grasp. So what I did was to add my path to the include path. Something like: file2.php set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . "/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs"); require_once 'file1.php'; So can you please give me some hints as of where I'm doing wrong ? Thanks UPDATE - Either way I get the following error message: Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/domain1/httpdocs/file1.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/pear/') in /var/www/vhosts/domain2/httpdocs/file2.php on line 4 Also I have tried this both with safe_mode On and Off. UPDATE2: Also I've changed the permissions to 777 on my test file and I've double-checked the paths to the include file in bash.

• Filesystem synchronization library?

  Hi, I've got 10 GB of files to back up daily to another site. The client is way out in the country so bandwidth is an issue. Does anyone know of any existing software or libraries out there that help with keeping a folder with its files synchronized across a slow link, that is it only sends files across if they have changed? Some kind of hash checking would be nice, too, to at least confirm the two sides are the same. I don't mind paying some money for it, seeing as how it might take me several weeks to a month to implement something decent on my own. I just don't want to re-invent the wheel, here. BTW it is a windows shop (they have an in house windows IT guy) so windows is preferred. I also have 10 GB of SQL Server 2000 databases to go across. Is the SQL server replication mode reliable? • Preventing Rails from opening production.log, when it is deployed with jruby-rack into tomcat.

  I have to to deploy a Ruby on Rails application to an tomcat application server using jruby-rack. Due to security reasons my customer has the webapps directory mounted read only and he won't changed this. The problem that arises is, that the rails logger wants to open the WEB-INF/log/production.log in write mode. He writes nothing to this file because log4j and friends are configured and working, but rails complains that the file is not readable. Are there any suggestions from preventing rails from opening this file?

• Warbler: Where are my images

  I'm using Jruby and Warbler to deploy a Jruby on Rails application to a Tomcat server. I can see all of my images when I deploy the server with Webrick: jruby -S server/script. However, when I create a .war file out of the rails directory using jruby -S warble and deploy to Tomcat, none of my images show up on the tomcat server. I noticed that image location has changed to the root of the directory in the war file. It seems that /images/picturename.jpg would be appropriate, but my images are not showing up.

• Importing war file into eclipse and build path problem

  Hi, I am facing some weird problem when importing .war file into eclipse. The problem is, the build folder does not contain any necessary class folder. So when I try to set the build path, eclipse reports "Error while adding to build path. Reason: cannot nest output folder 'projectName/build/class' inside 'projectName/build'. From what I understand, 'build' folder is what classes get collected(as build version) right? I tried to ignore build path and just export .war file into tomcat server, but somehow servlet file keeps showing old code, which I changed in eclipse. So, I am thinking without proper build folder, exported .war will not contain modified servlect code.( I am sorry if this doesn't sound clear) What can I do to fix this problem? I already tried to create a whole new workspace and restarted eclipse several times and it didn't solve the problem.

I've changed many variations of code this one is closest to what I want to achieve I think : Element entryPoint = document.getRootElement(); Element elem; for(Iterator iter = entryPoint.elements().iterator(); iter.hasNext();){ elem = (Element)iter.next(); System.out.println(elem.getName()); } It goes trough all nodes in xml file and writes their name. Now what I wanted to do next is if(elem.getName() == "entry") to get only the entry nodes, how do I get elements of the entry nodes, and how to get let say summary and its value? tnx

(a != 0 ? a : null); In order to compile, it needs to be changed to int? b = (a != 0 ? a : (int?) null); Since both b = null and b = a are legal, this doesn't make sense to me. Why does null need to be casted, and why can't we simply cast the whole expression (which I know is legal in other cases)?

• How can I use a value from a session variable as part of the group name in signalR

  Hi I am trying to set up signalR to distribute messages to web users the problem is that the one site holds different 'areas' and also 'user types'. The Area is decided when the user visits the site by passing a url parameter, this is then stored in a session variable, The 'user type' is by default not logged in then changed when the user logs in to there user type (returned from a webservice) and stored in a User object. My aim was to connect to the hub using signalR when the user visits the site and add the users connectionId to a groupname, using the 'area id' from the session and the 'user type id' from the User object in the context. The problem I am having is that I can obtain the user id but when it comes to the area id signalR cannot access the session. I understand the reasoning behind not allowing the session available in signalR but does any one know if there is a way to enable this or an alternative way that I can gain access to the users area so that I can create these unique groups.

• My HttpHandler doesn't want to create directory on a network

  I use this simple line of code inside my HttpHandler: Directory.CreateDirectory(@"\\srv-001\dev\folderToCreate\"); I receive an UnauthoridezAccessException telling me that the access to the path is denied. From here, I create a little Dos application in C# doing the same thing and I was able to create the folder. So, I thought that it might be that IIS is running on a different user than myself. I went to IIS and changed the Application pool to a Custom user, myself. But, unfortunately, I got the same exception. I have try to create a Share folder on my computer and I can create directory. Also, when debugging I can see that System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity have its AuthenticationType to "", IsAuthenticated to false and name to "". So, with all those tests I can conclude that the HttpHandler that receive the file cannot create a directory because of some security access. How can I grand access to my HttpHandler to be able to create a directory (and files) to a network folder?
