• Windows Workflow and sql script in declarative config like InRule

  We have been using InRule for our Rule needs we have found that it does not scale well and so are investigating the Windows Work Flow. Within InRule we could configure pretty much have any task for example our sql scripts and stored procedures where all part of a separate rule config file, I am wondering if there is a similar functionality within windows work flow where I could just call a declarative task and pass it a bunch of parameters – This task should contain the sql script I would be executing , we should be able to change the script at runtime without recompilation to the WF code. Is this possible in Windows Work flow – How can I accomplish this within work flow. Additionally for sql execution within Work Flow, how does it get the connection string. Should it be passed from the calling program – is passing it as input parameter from the Calling app via the Dictionary object the best way or can the work flow code have visibility to my calling program app.config and get the connection string ?

• Consume a WebService with Integrated authentication from WPF windows application

  I have written a WPF windows application that consumes a .net WebService. This works fine when the web service in hosted to allow anonymous connections, however the WebService I need to consume when we go live will be held within a website that has Integrated Authentication enabled. The person running the WPF application will be logged onto a computer within the same domain as the web server and will have permission to see the WebService (without entering any auth info) if browsing to it using a web browser that is NTLM auth enabled. Is it possible to pass through the details of the already logged in user running the application to the WebService? • Javassist: how to create proxy of proxy?

  I'm creating proxies with javassist ProxyFactory. When creating a single proxy all works fine. However, when I pass a proxied class to the proxying mechanism, it fails with javassist.bytecode.DuplicateMemberException: duplicate method: setHandler in com.mypackage.Bean_$$_javassist_0_$$_javassist_1 I'm creating the proxies with this: public Object createProxiedInstance(Object originalInstance) throws Exception { Class<?> originalClass = instance.getClass(); ProxyFactory factory = new ProxyFactory(); factory.setSuperclass(originalClass); factory.setHandler(new MethodHandler() {..}); Class<T> proxyClass = factory.createClass(); return proxyClass.newInstance(); } So, how do I create proxies of proxies? Update: The actual problems is that each proxy implements the ProxyObject which defines setHandler(..) method. So the 2nd proxy is trying to redefine the method, instead of overriding it in the subclass.

• Call stored procedure using Spring SimpleJdbcCall with callback

  I have an Oracle Stored procedure that takes CLOB input and REFCURSOR output. I invoke the SP via Spring SimpleJdbcCall passing in a RowMapper to map the results. However, since the result set is large, I need to provide callback feature to the client. I can't quite figure out how to add callback for an SP call using Spring - both with and without SimpleJdbcCall. One thought I have is to pass-in a RowCallbackHandler. Will this work or is there a better way to solve this problem?   I am trying to have the "Birthday" property of an Org-mode contact entry added to the agenda automatically: * John :PROPERTIES: :Name: John :Birthday: 5 4 1900 :END: This can be done manually for each entry using: %%(diary-anniversary 5 4 1900) John's birthday But I don't want to type the date twice. I would like to use the org-entry-get functionality to make diary-anniversary take the values of the Birthday and Name (see the bold text above) properties. This is how I get the correct property values. %%(org-entry-get nil "Name") %%(org-entry-get nil "Birthday") But after several attempts, I still haven't managed to put the values in variables and pass them correctly to diary-anniversary.   I am developing in application in XNA which draws random paths. Unfortunately, I'm out of touch with graphing, so I'm a bit stuck. My application needs to do the following: Pick a random angle from my origin (0,0), which is simple. Draw a circle in relation to that origin, 16px away (or any distance I specify), at the angle found above. (Excuse my horrible photoshoping) The second circle at (16,16) would represent a 45 degree angle 16 pixels away from my origin. I would like to have a method in which I pass in my distance and angle that returns a point to graph at. i.e. private Point GetCoordinate(float angle, int distance) { // Do something. return new Point(x,y); } I know this is simple, but agian, I'm pretty out of touch with graphing.   Hello, I have a Customer with Orders and those have products. Everything aggregated with collections of type ObservableCollection. All 3 collections are bound to a datagrid/combobox. I can only make the root collection (ObservableCollection Customers{ get;set;} ) passing to a CollectionView so I can move the current customer within the combobox. But how can I move around the current Order in the datagrid? How to pass the selected Orders to another CollectionView ? Does all this maybe not work?

• How do you debug a unit test in Xcode 3?

  I followed Apple's instructions to set up Unit Testing in my project. I followed the directions for making them dependent, so the tests run with every build of my main project. This works, and when my tests pass the application runs; when they don't, I get build errors on the lines of the unit tests that failed. I would like, however, to be able to step through my application code when the tests are failing, but can't get Xcode (3.2.5) configured properly. The project is a Mac project, not iOS. I tried the instructions here and here, but execution never stopped at the breakpoints I set, neither in the the unit test code or in my application code. After following the first set of instructions, the breakpoints I set turned yellow with blue outlines, and I don't know what that meant, either. What do I need to do to step through my tests?

  Hello, I need to InterOp Win32 code (unmanaged Win32 DLL's and Exe) completely with .NET. I need to call Win32 unmanaged code(DLL exported functions) at runtime i.e (knowing the types of data types in Win32 signatures and need to pass data according to that type at runtime). This is 100% possible in case of COM. You can convert COM unmanaged code to managed assemblies using tlbimp.exe and use now reflection API to work with those managed types(actual were unmanaged types now converted managed using tlbimp). But same functionality I need to get in terms of Win32(i.e) in .NET framework. How?? I know MS provided Export table reading API ..but I couldn't find exact API for InterOp of Win32 unmanaged code Regards

• ssms cannot connect to default sql server instance without specifying port number

  I have multiple SQL Server 2005 instances on a box. From SSMS on my desktop I can connect to that box's named instances with no problem. After some recent network configuration changes, when I want to connect to the default instance from SSMS on my desktop, I have to specify the port number. Before the network changes, I did not have to specify the port number of the default instance. If I remote to any other box (including the one in question), and use that box's SSMS to connect to that default instance, success. From my desktop, and only from my desktop, I have to specify the port number. Is it a SQL Server configuration that I've missed? Is it possible something in my PC's configuration is getting in the way? Where would I look, or what could I pass on to the network folks to help them resolve this? Any help is appreciated.

I think the System.getProperty("user.name") won't be secure enough? ("user.name" seems to be got from environment variables, so I can't rely on that, I think?) Question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/390150/authenticating-against-active-directory-with-java-on-linux provides me the authentication for given name+pass but I'd like to authenticate based on the Windows logon? For the Active Directory access, the LDAP would probably be the choise? I'm not totally sure if I'm asking the right questions but hopefully somebody has some ideas to forward me on.

AnsiString broken(const AnsiString &format,...) { ... the rest, totally identical ... } My calling code is like this:- AnsiString s1, s2; s1 = working("Hello %s", "World"); s2 = broken("Hello %s", "World"); But, s1 contains "Hello World", while s2 has "Hello (null)". I think this is due to the way va_start works, but I'm not exactly sure what's going on.

• [C#] How to convert string encoded in windows-1250 to unicode ?

I am receiving from some dll (which is wrapper for some external data source) strings in Windows-1250 codepage and I would like to insert them correctly (as unicode) to table in SQL Server Database. Since particular row in database which should hold that data is of NVarchar type, I only needed to convert it in my C# code to unicode and pass it as parameter. Everything is well and nice, but I stumbled on conversion step.   Is there a way to authenticate users in symfony apps using Active Directory? Can you please point out some documentation? edit What i need is to have a transparent login in my application. The user authenticates once at windows logon, then all applications should be accessed with the same credentials without being asked for the domain\username and password again.   I use 3rd party COM to find faces in a picture. One of the methods has the following signature, from SDK: long FindMultipleFaces( IUnknown* pIDibImage, VARIANTARG* FacePositionArray ); Parameters: pIDibImage[in] - The image to search. FacePositionArray[out]- The array of FacePosition2 objects into which face information is placed. This array is in a safe array (VARIANT) of type VT_UNKNOWN. The size of the array dictates the maximum number of faces for which to search. which translates into the following C# method signature (from metadata): int FindMultipleFaces(object pIDibImage, ref object pIFacePositions); Being optimistic I call it the following way but get an exception that the memory is corrupt. The exception is thrown only when a face is present in the image. FacePosition2[] facePositions = new FacePosition2[10]; object positions = facePositions; int faceCount = FaceLocator.FindMultipleFaces(dibImage, ref positions); What's the right way to pass SAFEARRAY to unmanaged code?

  I am trying to follow the Apple's recommendation to handle low-memory warnings (found in Session 416 of WWDC 2009 videos) by freeing up resources used by freeing up my dataController object (referenced in my app delegate) that contains a large number of strings for read from a plist: - (void)applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning:(UIApplication *)application { [_dataController release]; _dataController = nil; NSLog([NSString stringWithFormat:@"applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning bottom... retain count:%i", [_dataController retainCount]]); } But when I run ObjectAlloc within Instruments and simulate a Low-Memory Condition, I don't see a decrease in the memory used by my app even though I see the NSLog statements written out and the retain count is zero for the object. I do pass references to the app delegate around to some of the view controllers. But the code above releases the reference to the _dataController object (containing the plist data) so I would expect the memory to be freed. Any help would be appreciated.

• Passing to service custom class instance in WCF

  Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out. • How safe am I singing into Google Spreadsheets with yeroon.net/ggplot2

  I am impressed by what I have seen of yeroon.net/ggplot2 which is a web interface for Hadley Wickham's R package ggplot2. I want to try it out on my own data. The part that has me very excited is that one can use data stored in one's own Google spreadsheet as the data. One just signs into their Google Account so that yeroon.net/ggplot2 can access the spreadsheet list. I have been hesitant to do it. If I sign in whilst on yeroon.net am I handing over my username and password to a third party? It would not be wise of me to divulge my google password to third parties since Google is fast becoming my repository of everything. How do I know if Jeroon's application is using ClientLogin or OAuth? My understanding is very basic and may be wrong but nevertheless here it is. OAuth would be better since it does not actually pass the password onto the third party application.

• Using Struts with SpringSource dm server gives Http Status 503 error

  Hi, I developed an enterprise application using spring, struts and hibernate, now I want to transfer it to work with OSGi dm server. I found a book "Pro SpringSource dm server" where the author has explained a way to migrate WAR to OSGi bundles. I successfully migrated the application given in book. The first step of migration says that remove the lib folder in WEB-INF directory and import all the relevant packages. I did the same. Application has been successfully deployed in the dm server. But when I tried to connect to URL it is giving me the error: SpringSource dm Server - Error report HTTP Status 503 - Servlet action is currently unavailable type: Status report message: Servlet action is currently unavailable description: The requested service (Servlet action is currently unavailable) is not currently available. What could be the reason for this? I am out of clues to solve this issue. Can you pass any help you may have. Thanks in anvance.
