• asp.net dynamic sitemap with querystring? Session variable seems like overkill.

  Hi, I'm using ASP.NET WebForms. I'm using the standard sitemap provider. Home User Account Entry Going to the home page should have a user selection screen. Clicking on a user should list out the user's accounts with options to edit, delete, add accounts. Selecting an account should list out all the user's account's entries with options to edit delete and add entries. How do you normally pass this information between pages? I could use the query string, but then, the sitemap doesn't work. The sitemap only has the exact page without the query string and therefore loses the information. /User/Account/List.aspx?User=123 /User/Account/Entry/List.aspx?User=123&Account=322 I could use a session variable, but this seems overkill. Thoughts and suggestions very appreciated. Thanks!

  Okay guys, this is similar to my repeatEnd and wordEnds efforts; I want to solve this codingBat Warmup-2 question using only regex-based techniques as a "brain gymnastics" exercise. That is, if I want this (and I do!): assert last2("..+++...++") == 2; I'd have to uncomment the second .replaceAll. I'm just wondering if others can come up with a simpler, more elegant regex solution for this problem. Preferably one that doesn't contain octo-slashes.

  I am referencing a COM component from PHP. This COM component returns records using ADO. I am assuming I will need to reference ADO in PHP for this to function. How do I do this? Secondly (related to the first question) I have run accross ADODB abstraction libraries, however these seem to mostly deal with queries and handle the ADO internally. How do I get the returned ADO recordset into a PHP friendly array, and likewise pass in an ADO array to the COM object? Thank you, Josh

• How to add flags to RC.EXE through QMake .pro makefiles

  I've the following definition in my .pro file: RC_FILE = app.rc This RC file contains a global include at the top: #include "version_info.h" The version_info.h header is on a common header files directory. Since RC.EXE takes INCLUDE environment variable in consideration, according to MS documentation, my build process batch sets up that accordingly: SET INCLUDE=%PROJECTDIR%\version;%INCLUDE% ... QMAKE project.pro -spec win32-msvc2008 -r CONFIG += release This works perfect as RC seems to read that INCLUDE var so the "version_info.h" file is including on every RC file properly. The problem is when I generate a VS solution (or Import it through the VS Addin). The RC invocation does not contain any /I flag (as I expect) but does not read any INCLUDE variable, even when I've setup through system 'environment variables' dialog in XP. So I'm stuck with this problem, with two alternatives I could not get to work: Make VS RC.exe invocation honour the INCLUDE variable (didn't work either as user or system variable). Force QMAKE to pass /I flag to RC invocation, and get that /I flag imported into the project settings (Resource Compiler properties). Thanks in advance.

  Hi guys Just wondering if anyone knows whether I should be able to pass in list into a compiled query and have the query perform a contains operation? The reason why I ask is that I have a scenario where I need to do this, yet at run time I am getting the following error... The specified parameter 'categories' of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[[System.Int32, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089]]' is not valid. Only scalar parameters (such as Int32, Decimal, and Guid) are supported. I can understand why this might be the case but I was wondering if anyone knows a way around it. Cheers Anthony

  Hi, I have an object with a property called "name". This object has a sub object that has a property called "name" as well. Transaction.name Transaction.TransactionItem TransactionItem.name I bind Transaction object to a partial control as usual: Html.TextBox("name", Model.name)% Model is a Transaction object. And I bind TransactionItems: < if (Model.mtTransactionItem != null) { foreach (var item in Model.mtTransactionItem) { % <%= Ajax.ActionLink(item.name, "ShowItem", new { id = item.id }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "dialog-form" })% And when I update the one of the transaction items through an ajax call I pass the entire transaction object to the partial view. When I debug I check the Model.name property, and it has a proper value. But on the page shows the name of TransactionItem value instead of the name of Transaction value. What do I do wrong? I have checked this problem in MVC 1.0 and MVC 2.0 framework.

  i just introduced a bug into my code because i seem to have misunderstood the jsp tag lifecycle. The tag worked like this before the bug: i pass the tag some collection as an attribute, and it displays it as a table. The collection was passed into the JSP from the controller. after the bug: a removed the attribute which set the collection. instead, in the tag i check if the collection is null, and then grab it by name from the request (using a naming convention). the thing that i didnt expect: after the collection was initially set in the tag, it would never become null on subsequent executions! it was still defined as an non-requred attribute in the TLD. I expected the tag to not hold on to previous values between executions.

  Hi, I'm able to do the following for all checkboxes in a set (in an action): $this->form->getWidget('some_form_field')->setAttribute('checked', 'checked'); ... but I'm unable to set specific checkboxes to ticked on the basis of data returned from the db. I'm after something like: $this->form->getWidget('some_form_field')->setAttributes(array(....)); ... where I can refer to the specific checkboxes to be ticked somehow, or pass an array to it. There's nothing in the symfony documentation on this specifically and I've had enough of trying a dozen combinations to get it work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  I know there are already a few threads available here on this subject but I want others' opinion on this. There are two ways to set/read the cross domain cookies: Creating IFrame on A.com pointing to a page on B.com which creates the cookie and pass that information by creating another IFrame on B.com side pointing to A.com, either using window.name or in location.href.hash A.com page makes a XHR/JSONP call to B.com web service/page that has the following headers and it also sets up the cookie and returns the value. • Automatically enabling an output filter in Apache module

  I am developing a module for Apache which contains an output filter that I would like to always be invoked so that it can determine whether to process the request data or just pass the data along. Since I would like the module to be compatible with Apache 2.0 as well as 2.2, I do not want to use mod_filter. Ideally I would like to do this without having to explicitly enable the filter through the httpd.conf file, but I have so far not been able to find any example of this. Is this at all possible? Can someone please point me to a suitable example?

  I have a java stored procedure that takes in a clob representing a chunk of javascript and mins it. The structure of the function calling the JSP is as follows: function MIN_JS(pcl_js in clob) return clob as language java name 'JSMin.min(oracle.sql.CLOB) return oracle.sql.CLOB'; In the actual JSP, I have the following: import oracle.sql.CLOB; public class JSMin { ... public static min(CLOB js) { ... } The problem I'm having is that whenever I pass a clob to JS_MIN, it is always interpreted as null inside the JSP. I've checked the clob before calling JS_MIN annd it definitely has contents. Any ideas as to what I'm missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Im trying to bind a list with datetime objects to my repeater. if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item) { DateTime actualDate = e.Item.DataItem as DateTime; } When I want access the itemdatabound event on the repeater Then I get an errormessage which says that DateTime is a valuetype and not a reference type. My solution is that a wrap the datetime in a custom object (reference type) and pass that to the repeater datasource instead of the datetime. But Im wondering if there are other solutions where the repeater takes valuetypes (DateTime objects)........

  Hello Experts, am I allowed (without any sideeffects) to create and start a new Thread() from within a doGet() Method of a servlet? Or does this somehow leak ressources? Is it valid to also pass the "Session" Object into the Thread to later save the result of my asynchronous processing (I will synchronized correctly) in the session? Or will this leak ressources when using the session "in indepedant threads"? = What would happen if the session meanwhile would be expired by the webcontainer as it has timedout and I will access it from my thread? Or would could this also lead to the sideffect, that storing the session in the thread will prevent the webcontainer from expiring the session at all (and therefore finally leak ressources as the sessions do not get cleared up)? (I know there are other Solutions, like working with DB-(Job)Records, JMS or Servlets 3.0) but I need so solve the problem as described by spanning a new Thread within doGet.) Thank you very much!! • cross-compiling autoconf-based tools with mingw on Mac OS X

  I'd like to cross-compile some open-source libraries (libiconv, gettext, glib2) for windows using mingw on Mac OS X. I've installed mingw on Mac with MacPorts. But now I'm not sure what to give to the configure script so that it will work. The cross-compilation tutorials I've seen all talk about makefiles, but no one mentions what to give autoconf-based projects. I'm configuring like this: ./configure --prefix=/opt/local/i386-mingw32 --host=i586-mingw32msvc but it doesn't seem to take. While the configure will pass, running "make" will give this error: i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1: no input files I thought the "--host" argument to configure was supposed to tell it to use the mingw compiler? I'm not sure what's going on here.

  Hi all, I am trying to make my web app compatible with international languages and I am stuck with trying to convert escaped characters in my Delphi .NET DLL. The front end code is passing the UTF-8 hex notation with an escape character e.g for ? I pass \uE3818A. In my DLL I capture this and constract the following string '$E3828A'. I need to convert this back to ? and send it to my database, I've been trying to use Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes and Encoding.UTF8.GetString but with no luck. Anyone could help me figure this out? I have a flash countdown clock I am using in an Iframe of a facebook app. At the end of the countdown it fires this off myFlipCountDownClock.onFinish = function() { }; And I can add getURL or whatever. My problem is I need to fire off some facebook specific code. This being This does not work via getURL. My question is how could I pass this line of code? I am not sure what to do here. I mean I want the code to be in parent page only One thing I can think of is: Somewhat parent knows when the child is closed (event listenr??? not sure in js) But in such case how to receive the argument? • Viewing large text file in a browser

  Hi, I need to write a text file viewer (not the directory tree, but the actual file contents) for use in a browser. It will be used to view large files. I want to give the user the ability to actually ummm, browse the file, ie prev page & next page buttons, while each page will show only a portion of the file. Two question: Is there anyway to pass the file descriptor through POST (or something) so that on each page I can keep reading from an already open file, and not starting all over again (again - huge files) Is there a way to read the file backwards? Will be very useful for browsing back in a file. Any other implementation ideas are very welcome. Thanks

• What can i do about an ObjectDisposedException in a dll i cannot access?

  Hey guys, I'm using a dll to monitor calls (Atapi.dll). Sometimes when events occur, there's an ObjectDisposedException. This seems to be random, i don't know what causes it. I can't debug it and i don't have the source code to it. The events that cause the exception are call events (conencting calls) through Tapi 2.0. It does not causes my app to crash. If i press on the continue button of the window visual studio is generating, the app continues ignoring the exception, but i'd rather not see it happening. I tried catching all code (not much) i have writting, but nothing catches it, and it also says i cannot debug it, because it is thrown in the dll. Does anyone have any idea how to solve or get pass this obstacle? Thanks in advance.
