  Hello good people! The website of the statistics generator in question is: http://gitstats.sourceforge.net/ It's git repo can be cloned from: git clone git://repo.or.cz/gitstats.git What I want to do is something like: ./gitstatus --ext=".py" /input/foo /output/bar Failing being able to easily pass the above option without heavy modification, I'd just hardcore the file extentsion I want to be included. However, I'm unsure of the relevant section of code to modify and even if I did no, I'm unsure of how to start such modifications. It's seems like it'd be rather simple but alas...

• extra padding/Margin in Firefox+CHrome None in IE

  There is 20px margin/padding below the catmenuconatiner (second navigation bar). This is only showing in firefox and chrome not in IE 6+ Here is the page: www.fish-and-web.blogspot.com Another problem related to the same issue is between the comments. The comment boxes have 15px margin between them. • make mongrel_rails (localhost:3000) visible to a virtual machine

  I develop rails in ubuntu and i just set up a virtualbox windows xp virtual machine for IE testing. I'd like to be able to run mongrel_rails in ubuntu and then jump into the vm to check it out, so i can jump back, make a change, jump into the vm again, reload the page and test it, etc. Is this possible? In this sort of situation in the past i've had to set up an apache server on my dev machine and run mongrel under that, in order to get an externally visible (ie visible to my local network) ip address that i then paste into the address bar of IE in the vm. Is this really necessary? Is there a simpler way? Can i do something with my /etc/hosts or sites-available files to just make up some arbitrary network address which points to localhost:3000 in ubuntu? Or something? thanks, max

• Using cProfile results with KCacheGrind

  I'm using cProfile to profile my Python program. Based upon this talk I was under the impression that KCacheGrind could parse and display the output from cProfile. However, when I go to import the file, KCacheGrind just displays an 'Unknown File Format' error in the status bar and sits there displaying nothing. • Using Maven shade plugin in a multi module project

  I have a scenario where-in I need to create an uber jar of a multi module maven project including all modules and their dependencies. I tried using maven shade plugin. but it seems to work only when I use it at the module level. If I add the plugin entry in parent pom then the build breaks (it tries to shade the parent pom) [INFO] Replacing original artifact with shaded artifact. [INFO] Replacing null with C:\Projects\foo.bar\target\foobar-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT-shaded.pom [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] Error creating shaded jar: null It does seem to make sense since the <packaging> for the parent maven project is pom. But there should be some way to create an uber jar for a multi module project... Any ideas people???

My data is stored in 4 Excel Tables and i have no clue what would be the best way to get that data into Silverlight? • Easier way to move a project in Eclipse

  My projects changes location, and I need to tell Eclipse this. Today I just delete the project and import it from the new location. But I have a lot of projects, they change location often and the paths a very complicated. I'd like a better way to manage this in Eclipse. For example: J:\iteration234_abc\foo\bar\baz\iffle\dizzle\Project Only the root-folder changes (iteration-number and the idenfier "abc"). After that there are lot of folders. Many folders has tons of subfolders with similar names, which makes finding the folder with GUI time-consuming and very boring. It would be so nice if I could just edit the path. As you may have guessed: The J-drive is a network drive, provided by the source control system. The way to tell source control that I'm working on another itertion, is to continue my work in a different folder. My actual Eclipse workspace normally doesn't contain any projects.

• Good open source analytics/stats software in PHP?

  The url shortening service I'm building needs to display some basic click stats to users: # of clicks, conversions, referring domains, and country (filterable by a date range). I'll possibly want more advanced stats in the future. Is there existing open source software that will allow me to pass events to it and then easily display a bar or line graph of that event (for example, a line graph of "conversions" between two specified dates). It seems like something like this should exist and would be much easier then building the whole thing from scratch. I know there are graphing scripts, but that still requires me to format the data (usually as an xml file) and then pass it to the graph. I'm looking for something a bit more complete, which I can just feed the events and then it does everything else.

  I am trying to set the click event of a button on my form and for some reason I am getting weird behavior. When I bind the click event to a function that takes no arguments, things seem to work fine. But when I bind the event with a function that takes an argument, the event fires on document ready and on click. Any ideas?   What's the best way to detect event support in Firefox. Opera, Internet Explorer and Safari/Chrome all support eventName in object, but Firefox doesn't. My test case is this: javascript:alert("onclick" in document.createElement("a")) Which alerts true when entered into the address bar on the aforementioned browsers, and alerts false for Firefox. I figured out a solution using typeof on an event like so: var a = document.createElement("a"); a.setAttribute("onclick", ""); alert(typeof(a.onclick) == "function"); Is there a better method of detecting event support in Firefox?

  I'm trying to make a one to one relationship in a MySQL DB. I'm using the InnoDB engine and the basic table looks like this: CREATE TABLE `foo` ( `fooID` INT(11) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` TEXT NOT NULL ) CREATE TABLE `bar` ( `barName` VARCHAR(100) NOT NULL, `fooID` INT(11) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, CONSTRAINT `contact` FOREIGN KEY (`fooID`) REFERENCES `foo`(`fooID`) ) Now once I have set up these I alter the foo table so that the fooID also becomes a foreign key to the fooID in bar. The only issue I am facing with this is that there will be a integrity issue when I try to insert into either. I would like some help, thanks.

  I have written something like this pretty easily in C# (string GetUrl(new { controller = "foo", action = "bar", baz = "fnord" }), based on the existing capabilities of the XmlRouteCollection class provided by the ASP.NET MVC framework (why it isn't there out of the box is beyond me; the additional required code was trivial). I am now faced with a JSP project, and I need the same ability: centralize the logic for generating all URLs in one place, based on a list of routing rules. Is there some code somewhere I could reuse/adapt to do this in Java? It seems like a common enough requirement, but google proved surprisingly unhelpful in finding something like this.

• Looking for Google Reader javscript commands for controlling events

  I've played in the /reader/ui/ code for a few hours now, and couldn't figure this out. Also, I didn't see any exact help when searching StackOverflow. This is really a JavaScript un-obfuscator question. I'm looking for a way to call the obfuscated Google Reader javascript commands... and am having trouble determining what actual function is called when the "Next Items" button is pressed or the spacebar is hit. I've tried using Firebug as well as FireEvents to track it down, but it's just too well hidden. Any ideas? Something that I could type into the URL bar and make it run, something like 'javascript:SH("entries-down", "click");void(0);' Thanks in advance! And, please let me know if it's against Google's terms of service to de-obfuscate their code to view these JavaScript commands.

  Hello, I have a windows form that has a simple menu and performs a simple operation, I want to be able to create another windows form with all the functionality of a menu bar, message pump etc.. as a separate thread so I can then share the results of the operation to the second window. I.E. 1) Form A opens Form B opens as a separate thread 2)Form A performs operation 3)Form A passes results via memory to Form B 4)Form B display results I'm confused as to how to go about it, the main app runs fine but i'm not sure how to add a second window if the first one already exists. • Can any function be a deleted-function?

However, I don't see any such restriction on deleted-functions. Is that right? • SDK Facebook app - allow to use the app only on FB, not on my website

  I am newbie in creating apps for Facebook and I would like to ask you about a few things. I created my first app, in the settings I set up the domain URL, canvas URL, etc... when I load the app via apps.facebook.com/my_app_name the app is working, but also when I visit the page via the canvas URL I configured. Is there any way to only allow access to the app only when loaded inside the Facebook chrome? Also, in the app that I made are some links, buttons, etc. and when you hover over them with the mouse you can see my own domain in the status bar below. Is there a way to change that?

• Rsspnse.redirect will not redirect on Internet explorer

  Hi, I am using Response.Redirect("someurl",true); in the page_preInit event to redirect all the requests that come to a page. It works fine on Firexox, but if i access the page from internet explorer 7/8, it says page can not be found and will not redirect to new URL. Any idea why this happens?? Update: I tried giving a radom URL in the redirect such as google.com and it works fine. Actually the URL I am trying to redirect is not accessible on my machine, it is on another VPN. I guess IE will not change the URL on the addressbar if it can not access the URL. Firefox on the other hand changes the address on the address bar.

• Avoid application becoming unresponsive on download

  Hi I have an application which downloads a file from a network location and then displays that files information. It uses WebClient.DownloadFile to achieve this. The problem is, when the user clicks a button to start the download, the application becomes unresponsive until the file has downloaded. This gives the impression the application may have hung. I would like to seek ideas which would avoid this scenario. Though my solution will need to be 'as quick and cheap as possible' I would be interested in hearing about custom loaders that have been built, or some sort of loading symbol / progress bar / sand time clock thingy : ) Thanks for reading.
