  • New folder doesn't appear in Finder

    Many times I have the following problem. I create a new folder, but it doesn't appear in the Finder. Right now I have this problem with a folder created in Eclipse. After a while it appears, but I cannot tell when. I can see the folder in the terminal. A similar problem happens when I rename a folder or file. Then I have to move out of the parent folder, open another folder, go back, and most of the time it's there. (Finally the new folder appeared after creating another folder in the finder itself.) I'm using 10.8 Mountain Lion now, but this is not a problem of this release. I have this problem for several years now. Maybe I'm the only one with this problem? Is there a way to get this working normally?

This view might be empty, without any content, I just need to execute some javascript, and after that redirect user to external page. How can accomplish that?

  • View Your Google Calendar in Outlook 2010

    Google Calendar is a great way to share appointments, and synchronize your schedule with others. Here we show you how to view your Google Calendar in Outlook 2010 too. Google Calendar Log into the Google Calendar and under My Calendars click on Settings. Now click on the calendar you want to view in Outlook. Scroll down the page and click on the ICAL button from the Private Address section, or Calendar Address if it’s a public calendar…then copy the address to your clipboard. Outlook 2010 Open up your Outlook calendar, click the Home tab on the Ribbon, and under Manage Calendars click on Open Calendar \ From Internet… Now enter the link location into the New Internet Calendar field then click OK. Click Yes to the dialog box that comes up verifying you want to subscribe to it.   If you want more subscription options click on the Advanced button. Here you can name the folder, type in a description, and choose if you want to download attachments. That is all there is to it! Now you will be able to view your Google Calendar in Outlook 2010. You’ll also be able to view your local computer and the Google Calendar side by side… Keep in mind that this only gives you the ability to view the Google Calendar…it’s read-only. Any changes you make on the Google Calendar site will show up when you do a send/receive.   • Is there a standard Mac OS X Snow Leopard home folder naming convention?

    I recently re-installed a fresh copy of Snow Leopard on my Mac. I was a bit surprised when the process completed it had changed the name of my home folder to use my name rather than my initials. This messed up all the paths in my Eclipse IDE workspace. I vaguely remember being asked if I use it for home or business use and wondered if something I did there has a bearing on the way the default name is assigned. Does anyone have more information on this? Links too official Apple install etc. Cheers.

  • I can't uncheck the "read-only" attribute from a folder on a Windows Server 2008 machine.

    Hello everybody. I have a folder (C:\temp) on a windows server 2008 R2 installation. Initially it has the Read Only attribute checked, but I want to uncheck it. I am able to uncheck it and it even shows me the loading process (it is showing me that it is going through all the subfolders), but after I press OK and I go back to properties, it still remains checked as Read Only.   • Why don't they clean up the Windows folder? [on hold]

    To me, that thing seems like an utter mess, at least most parts. Some are pretty organized (.NET and GAC-Folders), but most of the others (System32) are not. Wouldn't it improve the general developer productivity if they cleaned it all up? In general - I don't know why they didn't stop that folder becoming a huge mess, and why they don't take any efforts to reduce it. (Win 8 Settings App sits in System32 while Store sits in Root directory, iirc) FHS isn't perfect, but it's far better than that...

    Hi I was wanted to do Application witch have a root template view with a nice logo on top or something adn load other views just below (here is what I have right now: Test App ) But I have a little problem. If I'll remove a comment in file TestAppDelegate.m on line 58 //[currentView release]; Application will crash with bunch of errors when I try to switch views. But if I comment this line Project analyzer is telling me that I have a potential leak with currentView variable. Can somebody spare some time and see in that code what I did wrong?

  • Windows7 shows a drive as full in summary but files, including backup folder, shown on drive are ver

    I have a drive partitioned so it is seen by Windows as 2 drives: C:\ and D:\ Windows7 shows D:\ as full up in the graphical summary in 'My Computer' summary of all the drives, e.g. the bar graph indicates full and nearly all of the drive's capacity, 108Gb, is full. So I go into the D:\ drive to look at the files, I see several folders. I select them all and the right click menu Properties to count their size, expecting the value to be about the same as what Windows reports in the summary, i.e. nearly 108Gb. But the properties shows the files are very small, Kbs and Mbs, nowhere near 108Gbs. One of the folders is a backup, but its size is very small. I've checked the folder options to show all system files and hidden files too - and counted these in the properties. Something invisible is holding the space. What is happening here? I'm afraid to delete anything if it removes valuable backups. Have I got huge backups here? Why can't I see them? How do I see them?

    Hi, In a controller, I have populated a map that has a string as key and a list as value; in the gsp, I try to show them like this: <g:each in="${sector}" var="entry" > <br/>${entry.key}<br/> <g:each in="${entry.value}" var="item" > ${item.name}<br/> </g:each> </g:each> The problem is that item is considered as string, so I get the exception Error 500: Error evaluating expression [item.name] on line [11]: groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: nombre for class: java.lang.String Any hints on how to fix it other than doing the find for the item explicitly in the gsp ?

  • Eclipse Outline View - Visible JavaScript Categories in Eclipse?

    I just found an option in the little white down arrow in Eclipse that reads "Visible Categories..." How can I use this? It seems to me that it could be used to only show functions that have an @category in their comments, but I haven't been able to make that work. If it did work it would be incredibly useful for separating out Unit Tests from their common-functions and separating them from the setUp and tearDown methods, so what is it really for? By the way I'm editing a Javascript file in the Eclipse "Javascript Editor", I don't know if that makes any difference or not.

    I'm learning about using Custom Views from the following: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/custom-components.html#modifying The description says: Class Initialization As always, the super is called first. Furthermore, this is not a default constructor, but a parameterized one. The EditText is created with these parameters when it is inflated from an XML layout file, thus, our constructor needs to both take them and pass them to the superclass constructor as well. Is there a better description? I've been trying to figure out what the constructor(s) should look like and I've come up with 4 possible choices (see example at end of post). I'm not sure what these 4 choices do (or don't do), why I should implement them, or what the parameters mean. Is there a description of these? Thanks.     The main concept goes like this. I have four listviews with its own data loaded at the same time. Only one listview will be visible to the user. Now, when the user presses a button, not only the current listview but also other three listviews should be minimized and then user can just scroll just as in Gallery and select the listview that one wants to open.     I'm starting with ASP.NET MVC, and working with NerdDinner as reference. I did the following: Created a new project Added a couple of tables Created LINQ to SQL for them Created a new controller My Models directory now contains MyModel.dbml, under which I have MyModel.designer.cs, that contains classes for models relating to both of my tables (let's call them Categories and Products). Now, under my new controller, I would like to create a strongly typed view. So for example I have the following code in my controller (for my application I must work by name, and the "Name" field is unique): public ActionResult Details(string name) { MyModelDataContext db = new MyModelDataContext(); Product user = db.Products.Single(t => t.Name == name); return View(user); } I would like to create a strongly-typed view. So I right-click the line "return View(user)", and choose "Add View...". I click "Create a strongly-typed view". When I click the dropdown of "View data class", I don't see my models, but only: MyProject.Controllers.AccountMembershipService MyProject.Controllers.FormsAuthenticationService What am I missing?

    Hi all, I don't know if the title is very clear, but my issue is as follows : I have an activity with a listview, and on top of this listview, i have a searchfield (edittext). The issue is that when i try debugging on a phone, the virtual keyboard gets out straight after the screen displays the activity... And of course, it's hidding half of the list... So, is there an attribute or something I can use to prevent this from happening?(I still want to keybord to appear when i click the edittext though...) thank you

    In my website project. I need to rename or remove some folder by code. Sometimes I can do all of that, but sometimes I cannot with error: Access to the path is denied Try to find to solution on Google. May be, there are two reason: The permisstion of that Folder Some subFolder or some file in that Folder that's being held open. Try to check: Right click on Folder- Properties-- Security: if this is the right way to check the permission, the Folder allowes every action (read, write....) There are no file, no subfolder of that Folder is opened. Why? I still dont understant why sometimes I can rename folder but sometimes I cannot. Help!! I need your opinions!!!   • iOS: Gesture recogniser for smooth scrolling and flicking a View

    I am building an iPad app where I needed to allow resizing views functionality using divider view provided between two views. This divider view is just a 20px height view between two half screen content views - please refer attached images. When user scrolls this divider view up or down, both content views changes their sizes appropriately. I have extended UIView and implemented this using touchMoved delegate as code given below in touchesMoved delegate. It works fine. The only thing is missing with TouchMoved is you can't flick divider view to top or bottom directly. You have to scroll all the way to top or bottom! To support flicking the view I have tried UIPanGestureRecognizer but I don't see smooth scrolling with it. When I handle split position change in UIGestureRecognizerStateChanged state, just touching divider view flick it to top or bottom. Handling split position change in UIGestureRecognizerStateEnded does the same but I don't see content view resizing with dividerview scrolling! Could someone please tell me how could I achieve both smooth scrolling of divider view with resizing content views(like touchMoved) and flicking the view. Any alternative approach would also fine.   • How to prevent modal view controllers flashing when changing

    I have three view controllers, let's call them A, B and C. When a button is pressed on view A, view B is shown using presentModalViewController:animated: When the finish button is pressed on screen B, it dismisses itself. View A is notified whereupon it immediately shows view C, again using presentModalViewController:animated: The problem is that view A's content is momentarily flashed on the screen between view B closing and view C opening. I can get around this by making view A blank and moving it's current content to a new view, D. (For various reasons, I don't want view B to own view C, that's why it's not opening it) Am I over-complicating this? I'm sure there is a smarter way to go? ThanksT
