    Without hiding the Child object's reference to the Parent object, has anyone been able to use an XmlSerializer() object to move a Linq to SQL object to an XML document, or is the only appropriate way of handling this to create a custom serialization/deserialization class to handle moving the data to/from the xml document? I don't like the idea of hiding the child object's reference to the parent object is why I'm asking. Thx.

  • Problem closing MDI child window in Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Connection 7.0

    I have one user whose computer just got updated to the 7.0 Remote Desktop Connection. Concurrently, she has started having a problem closing the MDI child windows in an old FoxPro application running on the remote server. We have two different servers, both 2003, running the same application, one locally and one at a remote office. Only the remote office server is giving trouble. It works fine for me, even when logging into her TS account. No other users have complained. The other day the same user experienced an error message (path not found for a path showing a localization placeholder) starting the RDC, fixed by reboot. I suspect she may have had RDC running during the 7.0 upgrade.

  • Shell Script Launching Child Processes

    Disclaimer: I'm totally new to shell scripting, but have quite a bit of experience in other languages like PHP and Obj-C. I'm writing my first daemon script. Here are the goals: I want it to run in the background I want it to be triggered by an init.d script that includes start/stop/restart commands I want each process in a loop to trigger its own subprocess. When the parent process kicked off by the init.d script is killed, I want the subprocesses to die as well. Essentially, I'm looking for the same kind of behavior that appears to be very common among software like apache, spamd, dovecot, etc. But, based on my research, I haven't found a single, simple answer as to how this kind of thing is achieved. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    We were having a problem with the Norton seal not showing up on our affiliate marketing landing pages (landers). Turns out, the Norton seal was super picky about the "www." prefix. I had folder paths like /lp/cmpx where x was a number 1-100 and indicated advertising campaign number. So, to remedy this, I stuck this in my .htaccess file right after the RewriteEngine On line: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/lp/cmp1/$1 [R=302,QSA,NC,L] Trouble is, I had to do that under every campaign folder, changing cmp1 to whatever the folder name was. Therefore, my question is... Is there a way I can do this with an .htaccess file under the parent folder (/lp in this case) and it will work for each of the children? EDIT: Note that I stuck an .htaccess file in /lp just now to test: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/lp/$1 [R=302,QSA,NC,L] This yielded no effect to the /lp/cmpx folders underneath, to my dismay.

    While updating the firmware on my parent's WNR3500v1, I bricked it. Basically, all that happens now is the power light just flashed. I tried pressing the factory reset button for up to a minute with the power on as well as with the power off. To no avail. Is there anything that can be done other than try to RMA it? Googling around, I found nothing promising. I'm wondering if anyone else has any other solution.

I have a lot more than 3 folders, so I was thinking of making a batch file or something. What would be the commands to do this? Thanks

    I'm preparing a script for Docker, which allows only one top-level process, which should receive the signals so we can stop it. Therefore, I'm having a script like this: one application writes to syslog (bash script in this sample), and the other one just prints it. #! /usr/bin/env bash set -eu tail -f /var/log/syslog & exec bash -c 'while true ; do logger aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ; sleep 1 ; done' Almost solved: when the top-level process bash gets SIGTERM -- it exists, but tail -f continues to run. How do I instruct tail -f to exit when the parent process exits? E.g. it should also get the signal. Note: Can't use bash traps since exec on the last line replaces the process completely.

In order to achieve hierarchical transform, I transform the child by its own matrix, and then the child by the parent matrix. This becomes costly because objects deeper in the display tree have to be transformed by all the parent objects. This is what's happening, in summary: Root -- transform its verts by Root matrix Parent -- transform its verts by Parent, Root matrix Child -- transform its verts by Child, Parent, Root matrix Is there a faster way to transform vertices to achieve hierarchical transform? What If I first concatenated each transform matrix with the parent matrices, and then transform verts by that final resulting matrix, would that work and wouldn't that be faster?     Okay, let's start with an example. <select id = "selection1">     <option value = "1" id = "1">Number 1</option>     <option value = "2" id = "2">Number 2</option>     <option value = "3" id = "3">Number 3</option> </select> Now from here, we have a dropdown with 3 options. What I want to do now is to hide an option. Adding style = "display:none" will not help. The option would not appear in the dropdownlist, but using the arrow keys, you can still select it. Essentially, it does exactly what the code says. It isn't displayed, and it stops there. A JQuery function of $("1").hide() will not work. Plus, I don't only want to hide the option, I want to completely remove it. Any possibility on doing so? Do I have to use parent/sibling/child elements? If so, I'm still not sure how. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Perhaps I need to create another class, say MyItemChildren and use that as the Children member and then do the mapping in that class? This would mean having two tables. One table holds the MyItem and the other table holds references from my item. NOTE: A child item could have many parents.

  • JQuery Delegate and using traveral options in function

    I am having trouble figuring out how to use the JQuery delegate function to do what I require. Basically, I need to allow users to add Panels (i.e. divs) to a form dynamically by selecting a button. Then when a user clicks a button within a given Panel, I want to be able to to something to that Panel (like change the color in this example). Unfortunately, it seems that references to the JQuery traversing functions don't work in this instance. Can anybody explain how to achieve this effect?   • What could cause an 101 Error in WAMP under Windows 7 ?

    Hey, I'be been using WAMP for local development for quite a while now but lately I've been getting an Error 101 message when I browse localhost sites. It's possible for this to have appeared after the last WAMP update but I'm not 100% sure on this. If I try again and again, after several page refreshes it works but it's really annoying! The exact error message is: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error. This is my configuration: OS: Windows 7 Apache: 2.2.11 PHP: 5.2.9-2 WAMP: 2.0 Also the local scripts connect to a remote MySQL server, they don't use the local MySQL(I don't know if it matters, just though I let you know). I've been looking into the apache logs and I've found the following.   • How do I view the location of an swf file that is obscured somehow.

    Specifically, I'm trying to view Elmo's Keyboard-o-rama fullscreen. The original swf file at www.sesameworkshop.org/uploaded-images/9495524/additional/main_game-6.swf has been moved and obscured. For a toddler, this game really needs to be full screen! The toddler doesn't mind too much and has already lost interest in the game for the day. But it's just driving me crazy. I've tried the usual method of viewing the page info in Firefox to no avail. And before people start trying to delete this for being game specific, I would like to know how to do this for any obfuscated swf location, not just games. Thanks in advance.

    I am trying to add <location inheritInChildApplications="false"> to my parent web application's web.config but it doesn't seem to be working. My parent's web.config has: <configuration> <configSections> </configSections> // 10 or so custom config sections like log4net, hibernate, <connectionStrings> </connectionStrings> <appSettings> </appSettings> <system.diagnostics> </system.diagnostics> <system.web> <webParts> </webParts> <membership> </membership> <compilation> </compilation> </system.web> <location ..> <system.web> </system.web> </location> <system.webServer> </system.webServer> My child web application is setup as an application in IIS, and is inheriting from the parent's web.config which is causing problems. Where exactly should I place the <location inheritInChildApplications="false"> so it ignores all the various web.config settings?
