    Today in firefox while surfing the internet, I opened a website it asked "This site may harm your computer" if you want to open this website add it in exception list. I added a website under exception list and trust this website. After that situation, whenever I opend this website, it always points toward the localhost untill internet connected. I have setup localhost through apache (xampp server). If internet not connected this website do not open anything but localhost still work as usaual. How can I remove this situation so that this website do not point to locathost? I am using winxp sp3. Same problem now appear in all browsers too.

  • subdomains to different VMs on one IP address

    I have a setup at home with an ESXi server Freenas server and several win7 clients. I have a domain refactoringme.com I set the @ and WWW domain record to my (current) IP address. I then forwarded port 80 to my local win2k3 server on my Linksys router and used host name matching to run the 5 test sites I have. That all works. Now I want to use the turnkey machines and move to dedicated VM servers. One for a wiki one for SVN etc. So how do I get www.refactoringme.com to go to one internal IP address and wiki.refactoringme.com to different internal IP address, while they both use the same external IP address? I added the additional record for wiki to my domain and pointed it to @. I figured it had to be involving a real firewall. So I installed PFSense on a VM and set it on the DMZ on my Linksys. From this point I haven't had any luck. I thought that maybe it would be in the DNS Forwarder or maybe in the Rules sections but neither have worked. Am I doing it wrong or on the right track but am missing something. Thanks for all the help.

    TDD proponents claim that it results in better design and decoupled objects. I can understand that writing tests first enforces the use of things like dependency injection, resulting in loosely coupled objects. However, TDD is based on unit tests - which test individual methods and not the integration between objects. And yet, TDD expects design to evolve from the tests themselves. So how can TDD possibly result in a better design at the integration (i.e. inter-object) level when the granularity it addresses is finer than that (individual methods)?

  • Remove IP address from the URL of website using apache

    I'm on an EC2 instance and have a domain domain.com linked to the EC2 nameservers and it happily is serving my pages if I type domain.com in the URL. However when the page is served it resolves the url to: 1.1.1.10/directory/page.php. Using apache I've set up the following VirtualHost, following examples provided at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/dns-caveats.html Listen 80 NameVirtualHost 1.1.1.10:80 <VirtualHost 1.1.1.10:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/directory ServerName domain.com # Other directives here ... <FilesMatch "\.(ico|pdf|flv|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|js|css|swf)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=290304000, public" </FilesMatch> </VirtualHost> However I'm not getting any changes to how the URL is displayed. This is the only VirtualHost configured on this site and I've confirmed its the one being used as I've managed to break it a number of times whilst experimenting with the configuration.   • Empirical evidence for choice of programming paradigm to address a problem

    The C2 wiki has a discussion of Empirical Evidence for Object-Oriented Programming that basically concludes there is none beyond appeal to authority. This was last edited in 2008. Discussion here seems to bear this out: questions on whether OO is outdated, when functional programming is a bad choice and the advantages and disadvantages of AOP are all answered with contributors' opinions without reliance on evidence. Of course, opinions of established and reputed practitioners are welcome and valuable things to have, but they're more plausible when they're consistent with experimental data. Does this evidence exist? Is evidence-based software engineering a thing? Specifically, if I have a particular problem P that I want to solve by writing software, does there exist a body of knowledge, studies and research that would let me see how the outcome of solving problems like P has depended on the choice of programming paradigm? I know that which paradigm comes out as "the right answer" can depend on what metrics a particular study pays attention to, on what conditions the study holds constant or varies, and doubtless on other factors too. That doesn't affect my desire to find this information and critically appraise it. It becomes clear that some people think I'm looking for a "turn the crank" solution - some sausage machine into which I put information about my problem and out of which comes a word like "functional" or "structured". This is not my intention. What I'm looking for is research into how - with a lot of caveats and assumptions that I'm not going into here but good literature on the matter would - certain properties of software vary depending on the problem and the choice of paradigm. In other words: some people say "OO gives better flexibility" or "functional programs have fewer bugs" - (part of) what I'm asking for is the evidence of this. The rest is asking for evidence against this, or the assumptions under which these statements are true, or evidence showing that these considerations aren't important. There are plenty of opinions on why one paradigm is better than another; is there anything objective behind any of these?

  • Best way to address this Magento issue

    I am in need of some advice/pointers on how best to attack a problem I am faced with in Magento 1.4.0.1. Here is the scenario: Consider a product catalog of multiple thousands of products in which there are many and various retail markup percentages. There is a need to sell some of those products to other retailers, and I need a way to easily categorise them into percentrage markup groups, so that the other traders can easily purchase items from us without needing to call and confirm pricing. All products prices are added to the magento database including VAT - so the actual retail value is the starting point. I think this needs to be done by adding an attribute on the products that determines the maximum discount level that can be applied to any given product. Obviously, this would entail a massive amount of work to update every product. Is there a way to achieve what we need that I don't yet know about (within Magento)? Can single attribute values be mass-populated somehow, without affecting other attributes such as name/description/etc?

    I have a question about redirecting a subdomain of a blog hosted on Wordpress.com to an external URL. Given the following: 1) I own a domain name foobar.com purchased from another registrar (not from Wordpress.com). 2) I have purchased the Custom Domain option on Wordpress.com, and have completed the configuration to make foobar.com resolve to foobar.wordpress.com. 3) I will establish an external site for a store, such as store.yahoo.com/foobar. 4) I want to redirect the subdomain store.foobar.com to store.yahoo.com/foobar. How do I set up the Custom DNS records within Wordpress.com to accomplish this subdomain redirection, while leaving foobar.com pointed to my Wordpress blog? I suspect that the CNAME directive is involved, but I cannot figure out the required syntax. Thanks... JGB

  • Why can't I renew my dynamic IP address?

    So, I'm going to explain this from the start. I've started a project with a friend of mine which includes a webspider, that crawls through all pages on a site and stores them in a DB. Since I've never done this before, I didn't think about the amount of requests I was actually sending to the site, and after a day or two I finally got my IP blocked. I need to be able to visit that site as it's very important to me. Not only for my project, but for other reasons too. (and if I'm able to renew my IP I'm going to set a delay on the crawler so I don't get blocked & DDOS the site) I have a dynamic IP address, at least that's what my router settings say. I've tried ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, restart computer. No result. I end up with the same IP address. I've also tried renewing it from the router, however, I think it uses the same method which isn't working. Is it possible that site has blocked my mac address? Can a site even access my mac address?

But what's with the 109.112.47.108 machine? It doesn't show up in tcpdump nor netstat -an Is there something with my dtrace code or my understanding of how the connect system call works?

I came across one application for using next hop for destination IP in same subnet (i.e for VPN) See this: Will packets send to the same subnet go through routers? If next hop != destination IP but they are in same subnet as that of host, is a valid scenario for VPN, then i am wondering what are the applications of next_hop==dest_ip & subnet same as host?     I have a website, thebleudoor.com. It is hosted by yahoo. It gets 2000-3000 hits a day and has been for at least 5 years. A few months ago, as admin of the website, I started getting bounced back emails from newly created emails like [email protected]. Yahoo only shows 2 emails for my account. They said they can't do anything about it. Now, my "spam hacked email accounts" are getting spam. They haven't altered or used my website or email or bank info, just the good name of my website. Is there anything I can do? Do I need to be concerned? Changing my provider won't really help will it? Thank you.

It's a sharing website - everyone is allowed to download specific content, but I want to make sure nobody knows where all the files are kept, so I've decided to use URL Forwarding, e.g. when someone visits fakesite.com, it returns realsite.com without revealing/redirecting to realsite.com.   • Is Running programs by address common?

    I have read some of the things posted here and I keep reading about people running stuff like /foldername/executable -cmd NAME (was reading about a programmer using Eclipse, so he was testing something he made) I don't see things like that when I run things here (Ubuntu 12.04) because of the launcher and the Ubuntu button at the very top. That and Eclipse indigo has a button for running and testing things it makes. Just asking how and why it's common? (assuming it's the Terminal[Ctrl+alt+T] but I'm not sure)
