  • How to update MySQL table with a cumulative count of events with the same date

    I have a table which I pull data from. This data has a date and a stock symbol. There can be multiple rows of data with the same date and different stock symbols. I need to update the table so that there is a running total for all rows with the same date. When a new date occurs the cumulative count re-sets to 1 and then resumes.   • How to update (append to) an href in jquery?

    I have a list of links that all go to a google maps api. the links already have the daddr (destination) parameter in them as static. I am using Geo-Location to find the users position and I want to add the saddr (source address) to the links once I get the data. so basically I will need to add something like &saddr=50.1234567,-50.03452 at the tail end of all the links pointing to google maps All the links have a class called directions-link and from this page I have figured out how to change them: $("a.directions-link").attr("href", "http://www.google.com/"); However I only want to append my value to the end of the href without changing what the href already is.   • vcxproj file won't load into solution.

    We've just recently switched to VS 2010 and i had a solution that was working fine. This moring when i try to load the solution i get the error: "An item with the same key has already been added." This occurs when it is trying to load one of our main projects and it is not loaded. I assumed the problem was with my solution so i created a brand new empty solution and tried to load the same vcxproj and got exactly the same error. When i revert the project file to a previous version it works, so apparently it's something in the vcxproj file. However it also appears that i'm the only one in the office that is affected. So some combination of the vcxproj file and my computer seems to be the issue. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any ideas on a solution? Thanks

    I want to know how many elements of a certain class appear in the DOM before an element that let's say has been clicked on. <html> <div class="a"> </div> <div class="b"> <div class="a"> </div> </div> <button>CLick me!</button> <div class="a"> </div> </html> So in the previous DOM tree if the element to be clicked is the button, and Im looking for divs with class "a" it should return 2, even though in the whole tree there are 3, but "before" the button there are only 2.   • parsing position files in ruby

    I have a sample position file like below. 789754654 COLORA SOMETHING1 19370119FYY076 2342423234SS323423 742784897 COLORB SOMETHING2 20060722FYY076 2342342342SDFSD3423 I am interested in positions 54-61 (4th column). I want to change the date to be a different format. So final outcome will be: 789754654 COLORA SOMETHING1 01191937FYY076 2342423234SS323423 742784897 COLORB SOMETHING2 07222006FYY076 2342342342SDFSD3423 The columns are seperated by spaces not tabs. And the final file should have exact number of spaces as the original file....only thing changing should be the date format. How can I do this? I wrote a script but it will lose the original spaces and positioning will be messed up. file.each_line do |line| dob = line.split(" ") puts dob[3] #got the date. change its format 5.times { puts "**" } end Can anyone suggest a better strategy so that positioning in the original file remains the same?

  • Regex to split a string (in Java) so that spaces are preserved?

    I need to split a string (in Java) into individual words ... but I need to preserve spaces. An example of the text I need to split is something like this: ABC . . . . DEF . . . . GHI I need to see "ABC", " . . . .", "DEF", ". . . .", and "GHI". Obviously splitting on the space character \s isn't going to work, as all the spaces get swallowed up as one space. Any suggestions?   • Model binding broke after upgrade to Visual Studio 2010

    I have an ASP.net MVC 1.0 VS2008 application that I just opened in Visual Studio 2010. When I did this Studio upgraded the app from VS2008 to the VS2010 project. It also upgraded the MVC references from 1.0 to 2.0. In my app I have a class for a form post, I then use the class for the model binding in the Action method so it will auto populate the values. This worked fine in mvc 1.0 but now it does not work in 2.0 after the upgrade. Does does anyone know why? Or where I should look to resolve this?   • Best way to use the same HTML on static web-pages

    If you use dynamic pages like JSP or asp.net, you can have your page template included, and then content added. But what if you have no server-side component and all pages are just HTML/JS? You can of course create a template then copy it for each page, but then if you want to change something you risk having to modify every page, even if you put most styling in CSS properly. Are there any non-awful ways to do this? I could see that an iframe could be used to load the content into the central page but that sounds nasty. Does HTML provide any way to include a base file and add to it?

  • Converting OpenGL coordinates to lower UIView (and UIImagePickerController)

    I am new to OpenGL on the iPhone. I am developing an iPhone app similar to a barcode reader but with an extra OpenGL layer. The bottommost layer is UIImagePickerController, then I use UIView on top and draw a rectangle at certain coordinates on the iPhone screen. So far everything is OK. Then I am trying to draw an OpenGL 3-D model in that rectangle. I am able to load a 3-D model in the iPhone based on this code here - http://iphonedevelopment.blogspot.com/2008/12/start-of-wavefront-obj-file-loader.html I am not able to transform the coordinates of the rectangle into OpenGL coordinates. Appreciate any help. Do I need to use a matrix to translate the currentPosition of the 3-D model so it is drawn within myRect?   • How can I make a new CTP (CakePHP) file in NetBeans?

    I have found a lot of info about adding CTP file support for NetBeans, but this is usually talking about code highlighting and treating a ctp file like a php file. This can be done at: Tools - Options - Miscellaneous - Files I have done this. However, when I try to create a NEW ctp file. I do not have the option. I tried going to Tools -> Templates to add a ctp template. There is no "new" button just an "add" button that looks for a file. I created a file on my desktop called cake_template.ctp on my desktop. I added it to the PHP templates in the template manager. I called the template "PHP Cake Template". Still when I go to create a new file, the option is not there. I restarted NetBeans, still the same. I just want to create a new .ctp file, it shouldn't be this difficult. Does anyone know how? I am using version 6.9.1

  • Designers, Expression or SharePoint Designer, and real source control

    I'm trying desperately to move from VSS to a real source control system. Options include TFS and SVN. My designers need to keep their ability to modify source files and instantly preview their changes in a browser without having to commit their changes. Using FPSE with VSS, this works flawlessly, since saving a file causes the copy in the working folder on the dev server to be updated, so they can just save and refresh their browser which is pointed at the dev server. The site in question consists of 350k+ lines of classic ASP code and some new ASP.NET MVC. They only need to be able to modify views within the MVC code, not C#. Though Expression includes a version of Cassini for local debugging, Cassini does not support classic ASP. Surely someone has solved this problem before. It can't be necessary to install IIS on each designer's machine (this is absolutely untenable). I need a way to have a common working folder on a dev webserver updated whenever someone saves a file locally, just like using FPSE. I'd rather not write an FPSE proxy that knows how to talk to TFS/SVN. Any suggestions? (I know I've asked this question in the past, but I haven't yet found a solution.)

    I have a two column list consisting of a US zipcode and a count (number of customers in this case). I want to put this data onto a map. Would Google maps API be a good fit for this? It seems like this would be a common enough type of problem to already have an existing (preferably Java based) solution without having to re-invent the wheel. Any suggestions?

    Suppose I have an array of nodes (objects). I need to create a duplicate of this array that I can modify without affecting the source array. But changing the nodes will affect the source nodes.     There are many discussions about what people's favourite source control is (subversion, mercurial ...). But what source control systems have you used that you certainly wouldn't recommend? And more beneficial, how would you go about promoting change in the business to a new source control system? A few years ago I developed using a source control system called Synergy. There were two Synergy experts in the company that constantly had to help the developers do check-ins/outs and merges were especially difficult. What would be your steps of migrating to a better source control. Would you host everything internally or pay for services such as github?

I'd like to do something like select top 2 * from tbl_ranks where family_id = 1 order by view_count union all select top 2 * from tbl_ranks where family_id = 2 order by view_count union all select top 2 * from tbl_ranks where family_id = 3 order by view_count union all select top 2 * from tbl_ranks where family_id = 4 order by view_count but, of course, order by isn't valid in a union all context in this manner. Any suggestions? I know I could run a set of 4 queries, store the results into a temp table and select the contents of that temp as the final result, but I'd rather avoid using a temp table if possible. Note: in the real app, the number of records per family id is indeterminate, and the view_counts are also not fixed as they appear in the above example.
