• How do I pass argument from an activity to another in Workflow 4

  Hi I have created an Activity (CodeActivity) that retrieves the temperature where I live. I wan't to add that activity to a workflow and connect it to an if statement/activity that can based on my temperature outargument do different things. But I can't seem to find how to access the outargument from my temperature-activity. This is my first Windows Workflow 4 project so perhaps I'm attacking this in the wrong way. I have: public OutArgument Degrees { get; set; } But how do I access it? I have found tutorials how to get the data when running the activity (only one) but not as part of a workflow. • ASP.NET AJAX postback and jQuery

  I have a Textbox, a LinkButton and a RadioButtonList inside an UpdatePanel. When the button is clicked, the UpdatePanel shows matching items in the radiobuttonlist. This works fine, but I now need to make the same happen OnKeyDown on the TextBox. I'm trying to cancel all AJAX requests in progress but not having much luck. Firstly, on every keypress the UpdatePanel posts back, so only one letter can be changed at a time. Secondly, the textbox loses focus on postback. I need to show the list as normal, but OnKeyDown as well as when the button is pressed.   HI all, I'm developing a software to control light show ( through DMX protocol ), i use C# and wpf to develop my main software (.net 4.0) To help people preview their show, i would like to make a live 3D visualizer... First, i thought that i could use wpf 3D to make the visualizer, but i need to work with light .. My main application should send property ( beam angle, orientation (X,Y), position(X,Y), Brush ( color,shape,effect)) to the 3D visualizer But i would like to be able to move light (position in the scene) by mouse during execution and had value in return... So .. Does XNA is the easiest way to doing that ? Can you help me for that : Generating light (orientation , bitmap like filter in front of light ) Dynamically moving object with mouse and get position in return Dynamically add or remove fixture All of your advice, sample, example are very welcome ... I don't espect to have a perfect result at the first time but i need to understand the main concepts for doing that Thank You !!

  I have a jQuery colorbox opened over top of my webpage (with a <select> drop down list) and I'd like to make an AJAX call every time a new <option> is selected from the drop down. • jQuery ::: Does remove really remove?

  I'm trying to remove a table row using jQuery, and while it disappears from the screen, and therefore, appears to work, in Firebug, I can still see the code for it. There are form elements in this row, and so, I want to understand whether the row is truly being deleted or not, because I wouldn't want those values submitted. So, does remove really remove? • RockBand-like voice app for PC/OSX / Real time pitch display software

  I played Rock Band 2 for the first time a little while ago (at Notacon). One thing I enjoyed about it was getting real-time feedback about my singing. I think it'd be neat to have something like that to run alongside my usual music, so that I can sing to random stuff in my music collection and know when I'm hitting the notes. Is there something like this for PC - ideally for OSX, and ideally that can just operate on arbitrary songs? I don't really care if it's game-like (though that's neat too); I just want it for the singing feedback. And I have no need for pitch correction - ideally what I'd see is just the pitches of the notes in the music and (on the same scale, differently displayed) of the live microphone. I tried to STFW but got no salient hits. :-/ Thanks!

  Hello. This question may sounds trivial, but i am struggling with the issue, so, please help if u can. So, here it is : i am using a CheckboxTreeViewer for some good reasons. I've google-it for some class usages, and i am currently able to check/uncheck all the childrens of a selected node, and to preserve the selection after a live search with a custom implementation of the StyledCellLabelProvider provider. All good so far. However, so far i am unable to programatically select one or more elements of the tree viewer after i display the widget and call the setInput() method of the viewer. So, let's assume for instance that the tree will have 10 main nodes, and 5 leafs on node 6. My question is how do i set the checked state of the 3rd leaf? Thank u.

• MVVM Light toolkit - maintained? Here today - gone tomorrow? ...

  Hi there, I have been taking a look at mvvm light toolkit, i must admit i haven't got a lot of experience with it but i live what i see.. I did use the mvvm toolkit (microsoft) but currently use vs 2010 and no templates are available as yet. I was looking for some insight into mvvm light toolkit... Is it always maintained ? i..e its not going to be gone tomorrow... Or shoudl i be looking elsewhere?? I would really appreciate any feedback... I also saw some info on how it is blendable which the mvvm toolkit (microsoft) didn't seem to have.. Prism also seems to be also a likely candidate but from what i understand its not a MVVM framework / toolkit i would be using it with wpf Any help really appreciated Thank you

• Visual Studio autoclean?

  Hello, I have a solution with multiple projects - executable, library, and others(unimportant right now). Library contains EF entity classes and executable uses them. When I'm working on some code from the executable then every entity that I use is marked as an error and compiler says that I should check usings and references. Reference in the executable project is set to library project(not the dll itself). When I build the library project then everything gets back to normal, but when I start typing then it happens again. I could live with it, but intelli sense isn't working and that is quite a disadvantage. Any ideas?

• Run jquery image resizer after image is appended.

  Hi all, I am using this jQuery plugin to re-size images. http://hirdet2.extra.hu/kepresize/ . $(document).ready(function(){ $('#content img').kepresize({maxWidth: 200,maxHeight: 150}); .... .... $('#content').append('<img src="pathtofile"/>'); }); However, these images are only being appended after the document loads, depending on the users actions. Therefore the appended images are not being re-sized. I have had a play around with .live() but can't seem to get it right. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a DIV on my page, and I want it to rotate randomly between these XML testimonials - LIVE (without refreshing). If this can be done easily in JQuery, that would be even better. • Importing a function/class from a Python module of the same name

  I have a Python package mymodule with a sub-package utils (i.e. a subdirectory which contains modules each with a function). The functions have the same name as the file/module in which they live. I would like to be able to access the functions as follows, from mymodule.utils import a_function Strangely however, sometimes I can import functions using the above notation, however other times I cannot. I have not been able to work out why though (recently, for example, I renamed a function and the file it was in and reflected this rename in the utils.__init__.py file but it no longer imported as a functions (rather as a module) in one of my scripts. The utils.__init__.py reads something like, __all__ = ['a_function', 'b_function' ...] from a_function import a_function from b_function import b_function ... mymodule.__init__.py has no reference to utils Ideas?

• How can I use Spring Security without sessions?

  I am building a web application with Spring Security that will live on Amazon EC2 and use Amazon's Elastic Load Balancers. Unfortunately, ELB does not support sticky sessions, so I need to ensure my application works properly without sessions. So far, I have setup RememberMeServices to assign a token via a cookie, and this works fine, but I want the cookie to expire with the browser session (e.g. when the browser closes). I have to imagine I'm not the first one to want to use Spring Security without sessions... any suggestions?

• UIImagePickerController camera preview is portrait in landscape app

  In my landscape-only iPhone application, I launch a UIImagePickerController to take a photo, but the live image displayed from the camera is in portrait orientation, with blank space around it. The image is rotated. Once the camera button is pressed, the preview is very messy, with most of the preview off screen, and views not correctly aligned. Apple has acknowledged that this is defect, and is working on it. My question is, does anyone have a work-around (legal or illegal) that would allow me to get this working now. I wouldn't release to the App Store with an illegal fix, but I would have a much better app for user testing - currently the camera is pretty much unusable in landscape. I will attach a simple test project and images if I can. Edit - just to clarify, the image I get is correctly landscape. I want the camera & preview UIs to look right!

• jQuery detect current thumb and scroll jCarousel accordingly

  Another thanks to SLaks for helping me get the code this far. I'm not quite sure if my last step is even possible with the way I have things set up. A live version of the gallery can be seen here: http://www.studioimbrue.com/index2.php Currently, everything works appropriately. The image and its thumbnail are currently tied together, but the jCarousel itself is still independent. I've added nextThumb.closest('.thumbscontainer').jcarousel('next'); so that when you click the large image, the carousel scrolls to the next row, but that doesn't actually follow any logic. What I'm attempting to do is for jQuery to detect how far down the thumbnail is and when to appropriately scroll the carousel. Is this even possible?

• Free internet radio station server software with remote broadcasting?

  I am in the process of creating an internet radio station, but the two djs I have for it are not able to be in one place. I need for them to be able to login to a web based broadcasting session that still has full functionality. They need to be able to broadcast thier live shows with talk and music. The music will be stroed on the server. I have checked out the Broadwave media streaming server from NCH, but ti does not have the ability to login as a dj from a remote computer. I don't have any money for this, so I need it to be free. If this is not possible, I need it to be cheap!

• Problem on IE6-8 with jQuery

  Hello guys, I'm stuck here with this IE6 issue.. always a pain. So I'm using jQuery's "live" feature to add a product each time. Then once each dropdown's value is changed, an input field assigned to it changes its value too so when I hit submit, it sends all the info. Everything works perfectly fine except in IE6, IE7, and IE8. I have no idea why... I've gone through the code and everything... so please guys. • What is the career value in learning ColdFusion?

  ColdFusion is a language I encounter rather infrequently, however it does turn up from time to time either in job adverts or as .cfm file extensions in URLs. There are possible job opportunities near to where I plan to live for ColdFusion developers. It might be in my interests to have a look at ColdFusion. ColdFusion appears, to me, to be a minority language compared to C#, Java or indeed most popular languages. Don thinks ColdFusion is declining in popularity. Would a ColdFusion position today be more related to the maintenance of legacy code than innovative, creative development, thus less interesting? Is there any long term career value in learning ColdFusion?

• The reasons to upgrade from Delphi 2009

  I have made the question "community wiki" - it is subjective. I have upgraded to Delphi 2009 because of unicode support. I have found the anonymous methods a very interesting and useful language feature, I can't say the same about generics. The generics seemed important for me before the upgrade to Delphi 2009, but I have never used them and probably will never use. As for Delphi 2010, I don't need the attributes and I don't like the whole idea of extended RTTI - that is why Delphi 2009 is better for me. Sometimes I hit one or other annoying bug in Delphi 2009 IDE, but they are not critical and I can live with them. I have no plans to develop software for Mac or Linux. Sure sometime I will need 64-bit support, so I think about upgrading to Delphi 2012. Are where any more reasons that can force me to upgrade from Delphi 2009?

• How should I handle pages that move to a new url with regards to search engines?

  Hi all, I have done some refactoring on a asp.net mvc application already deployed to a live web site. Among the refactoring was moving functionality to a new controller, causing some urls to change. Shortly after the various search engine robots start hammering the old urls. What is the right way to handle this in general? Ignore it? In time the SEs should find out that they get nothing but 400 from the old urls. Block old urls with robots.txt? Continue to catch the old urls, then redirect to new ones? Users navigating the site would never get the redirection as the urls are updated through-out the new version of the site. I see it as garbage code - unless it could be handled by some fancy routing? Other? As always, all comments welcome... Thanks, Anders, Denmark
