  I a student and have good knowledge in C programming and like to contribute any open source project which is developed in C. I searched sourceforge and selected 7-Zip because its widely used one and developed using C. I thought to start first by fixing bugs (which was suggested by many people in their websites) and gone through few bugs but couldn't understand how to respond to them and how to start fixing them..   this question is for LibGdx geeks. I want to make transparent screen in my game. For example, when level completes I want a new transparent screen pop up and show player's high score, buttons to navigate on next level etc like in angry birds kind of screen. This type of screen can also use, when user click on pause button, to show pause screen. Please guide me to design this kind of screen.   I have tried several different ways to achieve reading my amazon purchased e-books on ubuntu without success. Maybe i'm trying to do the impossible? Is there support for kindle-on-pc on ubuntu 12? • Need a non-X terminal for the nvidia driver installation

  When I try to install the nvidia driver for my video card, I receive an error message. ERROR: You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before installing. For further details, please see the section INSTALLING THE NVIDIA DRIVER in the README available on the Linux driver download page at www.nvidia.com. I wasn't able to find the README on the website but how do I create a terminal that is non-X? I am on 12.04.

I use jQuery, also I use date and time picker jQuery plugin in my cms, I can say this is just a 1% of my big script, I don't want sell my whole program as GPL because of these two small integrations (jQuery and DateTime picker). Please ask on these questions: I'm worry about license issue. What is the best way to sell my product(licensing type)? Is there any way to provide some partial licenses? I mean just add small notification in my license that the jQuery and The DateTime picker is still in GPL, but other part of this CMS has commercial license?   I want to change file icons of some specific file types like- .html, .css etc. I have tried using "File Type Editor (assogiate)" which is not working. I have also tried using "Gnome Tweak Tool" using icon themes. But that also does not worked properly (Though I can change folder icons , dash menu icons but not file icons). Please suggest me a way so that I can change file icons properly. I have read some of the articles saying about some mime type changes. I could not get proper guide from any of those articles. • How can I install Ubuntu (SO many problems)

  I have a question, my friend tried installing Ubuntu on my notebook (Asus g75v) and nothing tried, at one point he went past the installation screen and every he used the mouse the screen flickered and the driver crashed (I assume) and it would go back a step, I heard that there is way to install ubuntu without any graphics, maybe that will help me with the screen flickering (I have a gtx 670m), so we tried WUBI installer, I tried installing with that and it gave me a Wubildr.mbr missing error, so I gave that up after several times, although I do notice that I have an intel driver, and I keep downloading AMD versions, does that effect anything? I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu and I wish to be able to run it on my laptop, I want to learn this OS and I cannot even install it, I am a bit concerned, if anyone can back at me with any answer at all, please don't hesitate to post, just please don't post if you don't know what's going on, thanks for listening! ~cheers -Dragos

The problem #1 - I never heard about data hiding and don't know what it is. The problem #2 - I always thought that encapsulation is using private vs public, and is actually the data hiding. Can you please explain what data hiding is and how it differs from encapsulation?

• Cliché monsters to populate a steampunk fantasy setting dwarven dungeon?

  I'm looking for a list of cliché monsters for a steampunk computer game (assume one kind or another of casual rogue-like RPG), to populate lower levels of ancient dwarven-built dungeons. Dwarves are a technology/science race in the setting I am aiming for. The world is a low-magic one. I'm stuck after listing various mechanical golems, gigantic spiders (every dungeon must have some of them!), and maybe a mechanical barlog as a megaboss. What would player expect? What are the key cultural references for such setting? I know a couple of games with suitable steampunk dwarves, but none are detailed enough in the underworld monsters area. Please point me in the right direction. (If you have a single funny monster suggestion, please mention it in comments, not in answer. ;-) )

  What are the things I need to do, and with what tools to know what a competitor has working for him/her off-page (free and paid tools -- please suggest both)? First of all, I'm supposing I want to see all of the sites linking in and see what anchor text is used. Is there something that would report on the anchor text linking in, such as counting the keyword phrases used as anchor text? Also, it would be helpful to see where the PR is coming from by PR, such as, listing inbound links by PR of the page linking in. Lastly, if I'm missing something, here in the way of off-page attributes, please say so.

• "Fatal Error" message during boot process

  I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with ATI proprietary FGLRX graphic drivers When I boot, I can see this very quick message appearing; I don't have time to read it: **Fatal Error ..................................**(&@something i cant read) I searched through the log file in /var/log/ in order to find what is wrong and I did find something in the /var/log/Xorg.1.log: 21:31:08 [ 15.734] (--) using VT number 1 [ 204.647] Fatal server error: [ 204.647] xf86OpenConsole: VT_WAITACTIVE failed: Interrupted system call [ 204.647] [ 204.647] Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support at http://wiki.x.org for help. [ 204.647] Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.1.log" for additional information. [ 204.647] But this is already Xorg.1.log. And there is a Xorg.0.log also & Xorg.0.log.old but it doesnt have any error in it. My system seems to work properly and it seems its not affected by this But how do I correct this message? Any suggestions?
