  I am trying to output data from table : artists row : artist into this format. Artist Names can have special characters and there are over 16k of them. • How to hide URL from users when submitting this form?

  I have a form with many many fields... When submitting these fields, I use the POST method which hides the actual variables passed along to the PHP page. However, I can't get rid of the complete link. Changing from GET to POST did make all the form fields invisible in the URL, but this part is still visible: mydomain.com/bin/query# I want it to be invisible, or say: mydomain.com/search I have mod_rewrite enabled so there is a possibility to do this with mod_rewrite I think, but I am new to mod_rewrite so I need your help... How should I hide this URL? If you need more input let me know...

• How to get just free heap size (not together w stack/method mem) in Java?

  I want to calculate the heap usage for my app. I would like to get a procent value of Heap size only. How do I get the value in code for the current running app? EDIT The upvoted answer is NOT complete/correct. The values returned by those methods include stack and method area too, and I need to monitor only heap size. With that code I got HeapError exception when I reached 43%, so I can't use those methods to monitor just heap.

  I am using a vpn service from certain server. I was given with a root account, and when I connect with a root account, the command line looks like below. root@xa9g82:/etc/# Then I used useradd to add an account called 'temp' When I connected to the server with temp, then the command line only has a single character. $ The user information is not shown, neither the path. Also, note that, in root's command line I can use tab to automatically complete the filename, however 'temp's command line inserts tab space, when I press tab. It is very inconvenient. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. How can I resolve this issue?

  In a service class there is a method to start the service. If that service gets done executing does it runs onstartcommand from the beginning? • Determining where a function is defined in C#?

  Hey all - I am a complete novice at C# (I've never used it before) and recently needed to look over some code written in it. I spent the longest time trying to track down a nonexistent method in a class that didn't seem to be defined anywhere in the class that was using it. I later found out it was an "extension method," which I gather is a method grafted onto another class by some source. I completely understand the rationale behind this language feature and actually think it's quite nice. However, as someone without much experience in the language, it makes it harder to look up unfamiliar methods, since the method in question could be defined anywhere. My question is this: given an unfamiliar method call in C#, what's the best way for me to look up more info on it, given that it could be an extension method defined in an entirely separate class?   Hi, What exactly the definition of a "Lisp form"? As far as I know, it's "either an atom or a list that has a symbol as its first element". But then, this (in Scheme) would not be a form: ((lambda () 42)) ;; The answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. Because the first element of the list is itself another list. And after it's evaluated it will be a procedure (not a symbol). I can find several different websites and tutorials talking about Lisp forms, but none which gives a complete and detailed definition. Where can I find one?

  Hi all, I'm curious for those of you who are building iPhone apps based on REST/SOAP/XML-RPC or simply pulling down a dynamic XML feed, what does it mean exactly to you when a user says 'refresh' the feed? The straight forward way is to populate some collection, say an NSMutableArray, with whatever you bring down from the feed. If a widget on the UI is available to refresh, I typically do something like: [myMutableArray removeAllObjects]; // follow steps to repopulate myMutableArray It seems this is the least efficient algorithm for refreshing an XML feed. For instance many folks who are building Twitter clients, are appending changes to their existing feed, versus bringing down the entire feed in its complete form again. What kind of algorithms are you using to "refresh" your models when speaking to a server-side data source? Thanks all.

  Currently I'm trying to read through some basic cells, in this format: +-------+-------+ | | | +-------+-------+ Now I need to get the string representation of the cell's contents and send it off to another method. The problem is that the cells have no pre-defined length. I'm reading these from a file, so my easiest option should be to just use the Scanner I already have set up. Problem is, I don't really know how for this case. I have a strong feeling that I need to use the pattern somehow, but I'm at a complete loss on how to do it. I could also probably just build it up somehow, but that strikes me as being painfully slow.

But by reflex, they often hit enter when they finish with a text input box - but before they are actually done with the complete form. • Alternative to CURL due to long waiting

  Hey Guys I currently run a PHP-script using CURL to send data to another server, to do run a PHP-script that could take up to a minute to run. This server doesn't give any data back. But the CURL-request still has to wait for it to complete, and then it loads the rest of the orignal page. I would like my PHP-script to just send the data to the other server and then not wait for an answer. So my question is how should I solve this? I have read that CURL always has to wait.   Hi, I recently upgraded my subversion server from 1.4.6 to 1.6.11. The repos all seem to work correctly after this. I then try to upgrade a repo by issuing the svnadmin update command, and it produces no errors and says the update is complete. However, I am unable to open the repository after this. I get the following error when trying to open the repo: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem. I am using Apache, not SVNServe. Any help would be appreciated!

  I have written application which downloads data from a website every 10 mins and writes to a file.Then these files are merged into one file and then R program is run on this merged file to perform sentiment analysis and result is stored in hbase. I want the process of merging files,running R and then storing to HBase to run continuosly on the downloaded data. For running R,we are running R script from java program.We have used Runtime.getRuntime().exec() method to run R program but it doesn't wait for R program to complete and method in the next line starts executing.Using p.waitFor() did not help . What approach should I use to do merge then run R and finally store results in Hbase?Should I use timer class??

  My organization is building a new version of our ticketing site and is looking for the best way to build an online waiting room when the number of users in our purchase path exceeds a certain limit. The best version of this queue would let new users in after existing users have either completed their purchase or have exceeded a timeout limit after entering the path. I'm trying to get an idea of how this has been implemented by other organizations. Has anyone out there done something similar or have any experience with this? • Possible to use Javascript to access the client side's network(knowingly)

  I recently found an exploit in my router to basically give me root access. The catch? There is a nonce hidden form value that is randomly generated and must be sent in for it to work that makes it difficult to do "easily" So basically I'm wanting to do something like this in javascript: get http://192.168.1.254/blah use a regex or similar to extract the nonce value put the nonce value into a hidden field in the current page submit the form by POST to http://192.168.1.254/blah complete with the nonce value and other form values I want to send in. Is this at all possible using only HTML and Javascript? I'm open to things like "must save HTML file locally and then open", which I'm thinking is one way around the cross domain policy. But anyway, is this at all possible? I'm hoping for this to be able to run from at least Firefox and Chrome. The audience for this is those with some technical know how.

  okay guys, these are the facts: I have a java chat. I can NOT have any develop-revelant information. So this all is static. It's not my chat. So fact 2: IPad does not have Java and it will not have it in future. So now, the very hard task: bring this both together. My idea: Develope a proxy server for this. 1) The data from the IPad will send to a server. 2) the server recieve data and call the JRE and the complete chat-client 3) The server gets the "chat" himself and send it back to the Ipad Is that and possible idea or bad? Did I oversee something? Anyone have a idea where to start?

  I have a SQL problem that I've come up against routinely, and normally just solved w/ a nested query. I'm hoping someone can suggest a more elegant solution. It often happens that I need to select a result set for a user, conditioned upon it being the most recent, or the most sizeable or whatever. For example: Their complete list of pages created, but I only want the most recent name they applied to a page. It so happens that the database contains many entries for each page, and only the most recent one is desired. I've been using a nested select like: SELECT pg.customName, pg.id FROM ( select id, max(createdAt) as mostRecent from pages where userId = @UserId GROUP BY id ) as MostRecentPages JOIN pages pg ON pg.id = MostRecentPages.id AND pg.createdAt = MostRecentPages.mostRecent Is there a better syntax to perform this selection?
