I'm looking for up-to-date documentation and tutorials on creating Python bindings for gobjects. Everything I can find on the web is either incomplete or out of date.
Hi, I am using imagekit to handle custom size of uploaded images. While it works fine for creating custom size images with this, I'd like to use imagekit to resize the original image on upload. Is this possible?
So I have a connection pool setup. Which is great and all since I have an application that really needs it. However what I would like to know is if it is possible to share this connection pool with other J2SE apps? Would this even be worth it, as opposed to creating a connection pool based on each apps needs? If it would be prudent, how can I accomplish this?
Hi All,
We're trying to alter the DataGridViewComboBoxCell so that when the user expands the dropdown menu, inactive items are displayed in grey text.
I've found out how to do this by creating a new object, which inherits from DataGridViewComboBoxEditingControl.
The problem with this, is that I'm not sure how to tell the comboBoxCell, or column, to use this EditingControl, when the user clicks on the cell.
Any ideas?
I have a PDF copy of a file for creating a report. Based on this form, we will generate a report.

Because of the fact that there are my weight and age categories i have to draw them dynamicly for each group.
What is the easiest way to draw this inside a MVC view?

I need to create a little program that creates a backup copy of some DBF files on demand. the files are used by a custom designed Web application. Is it safe to copy a dbf file while it is open or do I need to close the web server so the files are released before safely creating a backup?
I am creating my java Swing application in Netbeans. At present there are more than 2000 lines of code. Is it right to have these many number of lines in a single file. Moreover the IDE has become slow when i am editing this file. Is there any way to overcome this?
Hi,
I'm creating a custom WinForms TextBox control, like this:
class MyTest : TextBox
{
protected override void OnEnter(EventArgs e)
{
this.BackColor = Color.Yellow;
}
protected override void OnLeave(EventArgs e)
{
this.BackColor = Color.White;
}
}
When I build the project, I cannot see the control. Can anyone explain why not?
Thanks in advance.
I am creating an application which tracks the users location using GPS, stores the longitude and latitude in a database using a content provider then output the first long and lat to a mapview.
I am able to create the cursor using this line of code:
Cursor c = getContentResolver().query(GPSContentProvider.CONTENT_URI,
null, null, null, null);
startManagingCursor(c);
However, when I make a call to move to the first row in the database or even try to close the cursor using c.close(); I receive a NullPointerException.
I am creating an .STP for a site. But here I have a DLL file in BIN , a XAP file in 12 Hive Folder and few more custom entries in teh Web.Config. How do I include there in the .STP File? As a relative newcomer to MFC, I see Device Contexts (DCs) a lot. I vaguely understand that it's something to do with drawing, but the specifics are not very well explained anywhere that I can find. What does creating a "compatible Device Context" mean, and why is it important? What does SelectObject do, and how must I make a DC compatible first?

I had a discussion with some colleagues mentioning that there are not too many projects that we do which make use of WPF for creating UI for a windows application (we almost always use Windows Forms instead).
Are your experiences the same - i.e. there is not too much adoption of this technology?
Why do you think that is? And will we have a time when we see much more of WPF?
I have heard that in Haskell, creating a multi-threaded application is as easy as taking a standard Haskell application and compiling it with the -threaded flag. Other cases, however, have described the use of a par command within the actual source code.
What is the state of Haskell multi-threading? How easy is it to introduce into programs? Is there a good multi-threading tutorial that goes over these different commands and their uses?
Jeff Ryan's quantmod package is an excellent contribution to the R finance world.
I like to use chartSeries() function, but when I try to get it to display multiple panes simultaneously, it doesn't work.
par(mfrow=c(2,2))
chartSeries (SPX)
chartSeries (SPX, subset="2010")
chartSeries (NDX)
chartSeries (NDX, subset="2010")
would normally return a four-panel graphic as it does with the plot() function but in the chartSeries example it runs through all instances one at a time without creating a single four-panel graphic.
I am creating a session when a user logs in like so:

Hi guys, I'm creating a On-Screen keyboard for my application, and it supports skins as well.
Here's what I'm doing with the skins, I have a folder which contains some images and a xml file which maps the images to the keyboard, I want to be able to have the folder as a zip file like in Office 2007 (.docx) and iPhone firmwares (.ipsw), I know I can simply zip the folder and change the extension, what I need to know is how to read the files in the code.
Thanks in advance.
I need to plot a normal distribution and then shade some specific region of it. Right now I'm doing this by creating a plot of the distribution and overlaying it with a RegionPlot. This is pretty convoluted and I'm certain there must be a more elegant way of doing it. I Googled, looked at the docs, found nothing. Help me SO!
I guess Mathematica counts as programming? :D
Hi,
I have to pass information from a desktop application to Web application and vice versa.
What are the best practices that are regularly used?
Currrently I'm using Asp.Net and a Winform.
To pass data to Web Site im creating a (POST) WebRequest and posting an xml to the site.
To pass data to Application im using .Net Remoting from Asp.net
(Winform is an adminstration and monitoring application)
Also currently both Web app and Winform are on the same machine.(but can change).
I am working on a simple Firefox Extension, and I need a list of the user's bookmarks. I have found the nsINavBookmarksService class which appears to be the recommended way of manipulating bookmarks since Firefox 3.0. Strangely I don't see a method that I could use to get a list of all the bookmarks in a folder. I need some way of creating a flat list of all the Bookmark URIs, but without any methods that return information about more than one bookmark I don't see a way to do it.
